Do you have something more specific as a source? I’m looking at the patch notes from 8/18/2016 (i.e. the rank 8/level 330 patch) and I am not seeing anything about Circling.

Update/Note/Patch #330, not level 330… (according to reddit poster), hold on let me scour through it.
So you don’t have an actual source then. According to [ Archer Changelog ] Archer changes from kTOS and iTOS there are only four patches that kToS has and we don’t, and none of them appear to do what has been claimed. Here is a list of all the kToS patch notes, surely you can tell me which one 330 is.
330 is a god-d*mn number for the article/notice… stop fixating on Lv330, I NEVER SAID LV330!

Honestly just go to kToS and try it yourself.
Then lets drop the 330 and you tell me where in the four patches kToS has that we don’t that Circling was nerfed.

WaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiTTTTT if circling actually gets nerf/changed like that imma replace sissel with gladiator then for aoe attack ratio to multi hit those mobs T.T
Well at least gladiator is cheaper than sissel so … works for me xD

Yes it’s about not going to negative values. That why I confuse when see some ppl talk about Area Defend Ratio Not down to 0 randomly in this web board/reddic.
It’s total different.
Because of that I try to finding someone who can confirm.
btw seifer0692 0 and 1 ADR is total different +1AAR not help when you fight a big group.
ex fight with 5 mob
multi shot lv14 vs 0ADR it will hit all mob 15 hit per mob
multi shot lv14 vs 1ADR it will hit mob 15 time randomly
multi shot lvl14+1AAR vs 1ADR it will hit mob 2 target per arrow 15 time randomly
so you will need +4AAR to fight with 5 mob
multi shot lvl15+4AAR vs 1ADR it will hit all mob 15 hit per mob
What’s a different?
It’s not only you who will need +AAR item. Your TEAM your PARTY also need AAR gear too. For ex wiz who have default AAR 5 With his magic. He want to fight with mob a big group 10-15 mob. Yeah our circling will help …But wait it not go down to 0 anymore so 1 tick will hit only 5 target randomly! wiz my friend you need +5-10AAR to hit all of that target.
I dont really quite understand but to sum it up i guess u meant circling now is confirmed cap at 1 aoe def ratio instead 0 and we need more aoe attack ratio in order to hit more mobs right ? :o
right now circling will bring down to 0. You don’t need any aoe attack ratio as long you have circling you can hit all target
But If it really change(still need confirm).
yes it’s something like that you will need more attack ratio to hit more mob
you can try this by yourself even in this patch. Just drag mob around lower map it have only 1 aoe defend. Just use Carpenter Gloves+multishot to test if you don’t have expensive AAR item.
Or just create Cleric and drag a lot of mob as you can and hit it with normal attack.

I want to say I started hearing this when people were talking about hangman knot no longer taking AoE ratio negative(Hangman’s knot has an attribute that makes it work like circling but just removes AoE defense period).
I’m not sure I ever heard it confirmed. I honestly don’t even remember if it was just someone chatting about potential hangman knot nerfs or something that was in a kToS patch.
If this is true, whats the point of fal c1 ?!?!
If it true falcon1 still okay for cannoneer.
but multishot, snipe or those skill without base aoe atk ratio will suffer.

Still waiting on a reply from sebbau on reddit, he seems to be the source for everyone who is talking about this nerf. He hasn’t been active since I asked so its still a waiting game.
In the meantime, there was some talk in the kToS General Thread about the AoE Defense Ratio minimum limit change being related to the Hangman’s Knot nerf. However, I’m not seeing anything in the iToS or kToS patch notes on that change either, so I don’t know what to think about that.
