Announcement Regarding Price Changes and South American Server

Seems like brazilians are happier to be away from the americans than the opposite.

I prefer to be far away from toxic Brasilians and Xenophobic Americans both are equally anoying -.-

Let’s face some things:

1 - People are complaining about it’s not being fair for brazilians. Some players still think about playing in the iToS and wants regional prices. But… it will still be abusable. Also, the most important part: how do you think IMC pays those servers? with BRL? nope, they pay with USD. Dollars. It’s actually unfair for IMC, as I expect them to pay even the SA and SEA servers with dollars.

2 - Russia got completely screwed, not Brazil. Russia went from the lowest to the highest price available. Simple fact.

3 - The SA server is different from the BR server from LUG. I expect the SA server to be available through Steam with the same English client. I believe it will be another server listed here, as the EU and SEA ones, physically located in Brazil later on.

4 - The founder’s packs grants early access to the game, along with 30-60 days tokens. The tokens may expire but you will still have access to the game even with the delayed F2P release. 99% for that, waiting for an official statement.
I hope they let us buy TP’s soon, however. Many of us are out of them =x

5 - People say brazilians started the abuse of regional prices. Some brazilians abused the Boleto thing, to not pay it. About paying a lower price than other players, if bots really used it, would make more sense to use Russian prices as they are less than half the brazilian ones. Even then, it’s not russians nor brazilians fault. It’s from those bots, which, well…

6 - More love people. Running a gaming company is not easy. I used to see korean companies bring their games years after the original release. We are living the start of ToS.

Is IMC learning with Brazilian sellers how to do promotions? Increase the price by 100% some days before and then sell the package with 50% off? 50% of 200% is still 100% though.

So… when will this new server be moved to South America?

And when game launch here will it also have a portuguese option?

Huh… the fact that imc was using steam’s international pricing for their international server was one of the few things they had done from the beginning that I thought was cool. As a Canadian I don’t really lose out too much, but I’m pretty disappointed in the change. A lot of people are going to decide against spending any money on this game. Oh well

Is a new South american server or the “BR” server?

wait for an official statement, but I’m pretty sure that:

the Level Up server will have PT-BR as the official language. The Steam one will have English as default, as it’s meant for all the south americans.

No date for LUG server yet.

Other side of pure russians is that most goldsellers are chinese or russians. And when u have discounted prices for russians - the token price for different countries is different = legit goldtrading has different price for players from different regions.
500k silver (token price) for russians costs 5$ and for germans 15$.
There are a lot of pure russians that made bussiness with this difference at the beginning of the game: buy token for 5$, sell it for 500k, sell this 500k to goldbuyer for 10$.

best post in this topic, it should really have more likes
pretty much sums everything

I really hope you come up with a plan for Fedimian where EU countries have vastly different income because as things stand now, half of the server (Russia/Commonwealth of Independent States) is left without possibility (even with discounts, not to mention full price) to buy TP, except for a chosen few.

So i was waiting for discount since i had no time to play on early access anyway and got x2 price WITH discount, nice, no founder pack or other microtransactions for me then, considering curent economical situation and currency conversion rate in Russia.
Maybe there is some other way to solve this price difference abuse problem? Like creating separate “regional” untradable TP/tokens, so if you want to spend your money on your character you can do it with your price, but if you want to sell tokens to someone you need to buy “international” tokens with full price.

And yeah i’m a bit salty because some of my friends got their founder packs a lot cheaper without discounts and i was waiting for promised discount but got price increase instead. Old price with 50% discount would be 100% buy for me, i was thinking about 30% max.
Anyway good luck with your work, i will try to play full f2p mode until there will be some way to pay regional prices or to play regional server with these prices and ok ping.

Great reason to penalize common players instead of fixing the problem - removing ability to trade tokens. Whole attitude of the company is questionable. They could have adopted Korean anti-bot system from the beginning but instead decided to remove trade to stop gold sellers and bots. Only thing that move achieved is removed most important MMO element from the game. Its not even possible to transfer silver from one character on SAME ACCOUNT to another (and how is that helping fighting gold sellers? ). They did promise to remove trade restriction. But they also promised 30 % discounts without raising the prices as well as they promised to make this free to play late April. Now its mid to late May. They just might change their mind tomorrow and make this game subscription based at this rate.
Now main question is : Did it help to stop gold sellers?
Right now while I am typing this I saw at least 10 bots promoting their gold-selling sites using megaphones. In Orsha, I am pretty sure, there are even more guys spamming their promotions (would be nice to have ability to remove overhead bubble with text which is always in the way hen you try to buy / sell something on the market , but no, lets just disable something instead of helping to improve gameplay to common players)
Behold!
Thing which would have fixed bot problem really quickly.
Pretty sure company can hire 3 - 6 guys who will work as GM. Minimal wage students or whatever. Simple manual labor. Clicking buttons in-game to ban gold sellers and bots while other guys try to think of something else.

Just in my defense, I didn’t want a server for us, I just wanted to play in an international server. It is good to have a SA server, so people have a choice, but the price “solution” seems unfair the way they did.

And just to be clear, I’m not saying that the way it was before is good.

I honestly see the pricing changes having a completely opposite effect from what is intended. Steam has regional price changes for a reason, and they are calculated so that games have the same value around the world. Not the same price, but the same value. As in, the effort someone in the US puts into getting the amount of money necessary to buy an item should be the same (or as close as possible) to the effort someone has to put anywhere else in the world.

Money is a fickle thing, and living expenses influence greatly how much you can dedicate to your hobbies and leisure activities, such as MMOs. If IMC goes trough with this plan, it’ll be very unfair to players from other regions that didn’t get a dedicated regional server or just don’t want to switch.

“Oh, but if the pricing changes bother you so much, just switch to your regional server!” Yeah, but I don’t want to. This is meant to be an international server, where players from all around the world play together. I don’t want to limit myself to playing with only people from my country, that’s not the purpose of the game server in the first place. I don’t want a regional experience, and forcing me to go for that because of a huge price increase in my end doesn’t feel nice.

The general impression I’m getting is that IMC doesn’t mean harm, and is trying to level the playing field as well as possible. But let’s be frank here, Steam is the most successful gaming platform in the world by far, and if they opted for regional prices based on living costs, then I see no reason for IMC to try and do something different. This is a great stance that Steam has adopted, and it made many gamers able to purchase things for a fair price, things they couldn’t buy before. IMC’s actions seem to go backwards, ignoring all the progress Steam managed to accomplish in this field.

I can anticipate a loss of income for IMC, and also a loss of interest from some players, without any real benefit here. I long for the day when IMC will understand that for all the worries they have about gold sellers all they do is hurt their honest playerbase. Gold sellers will just use bots and farm silver, and no matter how steep the restriction, they won’t care, because they get silver for free anyway. Making things more expensive, limiting trades, taxing auctions, this changes nothing for bot users, but hurts real players to no end.

Please @Staff_Julie, @STAFF_Ethan, consider this comment an open letter from a player who just wants things to be fair. I understand that turning a localized game into an international one is a steep way, but I trust you’ll make the right choices once you understand the situation most people are in.

imo just all the complaing guys just dont get it. There is “injustice” on different prices for region. Steam did good changing the price based on the region reality. USD is very high on some regions, just making impossible to buy things on that currency. Look at Brazilian R$. The USD is 4 times de higher on currency. That means: a 50 dollar purchase will become 200 R$ for Brazilians.
And more than that, this number is a lot more large because the wealth of people inself. The base salary on Brazil is R$ 900. Pay R$ 200 for a game is about 20% of the base salary. On other hand, countries with dolar base salary get about 2000 USD as base salary. So, buy a 50 USD game is just nothing compared to other countries proportion like Brazil.
What steam did to the prices is just fine. Each region should be avalieted with their on reality, and the prices set based on that.

Pick one, you can’t have both.

Omg… That’s unethical, so you’re telling me that people from different regions paid different prices based on the cost of living in that certain country. So people could have been using a VPN to change their IP location and change their steam region, then an individual could have been purchasing the founders packs at a lower price. Now you’re coming out and telling me I paid more for the same game in which other people were paying at a lesser rate. I just want to know why all the prices weren’t at an equal rate from the start. This means that people from NA or Europe paid a higher price compared to other countries. Thanks a ton Nexon or IMC Games.
