[Alchemist] Really Hate RNG with random stat on my equipment

Look at this http://imgur.com/rJuPK09
Guys, how do you think about this update? I really hate that kind of mmo, which applying random stat to equipment. I mean if we’re not satisfied with stat we get we must reroll again until someone got the best stat posibble, and how about potential reduce?? I dont agree with this, if this update really implemented to the game, i will quit. :frowning: I hate about RNG thing on Asian mmorpg, really who like that? you must farm to get your best equipment, upgrading it, and now you pray to RNG god to get the best stat option. If you unlucky you will get minus stat or get INT stat on your swordman class, or, you just get 10 str but someone out there get 200 str. that’s sucks. :frowning: Well, i hate briquetting skill too, it’s RNG to get -5% ~ +5% to your weapon http://imgur.com/uT327Jk
Now everyone want to be alchemist for casino job.

Good, love this change. The old awakening bonuses were so stupid, especially for rare items

It’s already in the game.

Bye.

Joking aside, it means awakening is now universally useful instead of only those who datamine can know this random PLATE shoe is really strong for Int classes.

Besides, you don’t have to use it, the bonus is no where near game breaking (at least if you look at the link, you’d know 200 Str is not possible)

I hate if higher stat must be obtained by random stuff. Early i appreciate this game, cause of the hidden quest. If you want another bonus stat even though small like +1str or +5stat poin you must accomplished something like hidden quest or anything, but not you click, pay, pray, repeat. Thats really bad game. lack of creativity. No innovation. Please guys think again, we can stop this before developer including another RNG feature to this game.

we have something like gems if someone like to be different. Think about this, you farming hard to get best equipment like 6 star, and you upgrade until +15, you play quest to get little stat boost, and when you want to enchant it you get minus stat or stat you dont need, and someone get better stat. Oh you want to reroll it? enchant again until you lost all your potential. Zero potential? no problem we sell plus potential just xxx TP in our shop just for xx$

Nobody force you to do the awaken unless you want to be OP. Or you want the enhancement system that items can be broken when upgrade and you have to buy the upgrade protection from cash shop like many other games? Though I agree that we can choose what stat to be awaken but with random value, not the fixed one.

Well then it surprised me if most of you prefer random than fixed value.I can’t force that. With fixed value we now what we want to achieve, but with random number we just repeating until we think enough but inside we think it’s not enough. before i think people upgrade their weapon to +15 then enchant it, now surely the opposite. And if we think we fail in enchant our equipment just become worthless. Nobody want it.

May i know why you prefer with random value? Dont you think it’s annoying to get something unlucky with thing you get it hard?

Well
It surprises ME that you think having a fixed stat system that dataminers can dig up all the values and easily figure out the ‘OP’ equipment to get and perform way better than other people for far less effort is a ‘better’ idea.

Also with the current awakening system people wearing the same gear can still go for different stats (for example, PvP centric players might prefers stacking more max HP than having more damage stat)

Fixed awakening values led to there being ‘best’ options. The pair of boots with a comical 100 int on them for example.
While this system might have been neat 15 years ago, when the discovery of such things would be an individual journey, now the values get instantly datamined and everyone knows them. (Note the already datamined random table)

Now the best equipment will be a symbol of the work you’ve put into the game, not your ability to google.

Hrmmm, I got mixed feelings here on this…

While I agree that googling skills shouldn’t be an advantage, I fail to see how RNG and ‘work’ are related at all.

Some guy may get a near max roll on its first try, while other may waste a lot of effort to nothing. RNG is a lazy but accepted limiting mechanism.

Want an effort-related enchanting/upgrade system? Look at http://disgaea.wikia.com/wiki/Item_World. Off course, We are yet to see this in a MMO, AFAIK.

Look at the bright side. This saves you 5 skill points for magnum opus… yeah, no ~_~

I like this change.
Awakening is too OP with static stats. Right now it is just a nice bonus, or some sort of casino for those who like it.

But for it to be actually useful, need to give us back ability to trade char-to-char.

There is now the possibility for any piece of gear to have elemental damage (or any stat that you want) that scales with the level/grade of the equipment. While it was nice to have the reliable static values, in the long run it is better for the game if all equipment is viable for awakening while also not making them easily the best choice of gear in many cases.

Awakening won’t mean so much in the early stages of ToS but as people start to min-max / have a lot of silver, I’m sure people will pay adequately for well-RNG’d gear (think 9 pieces with +40 elem attack or +30 SP Regen, etc. each).

Completely agree previously some items had op awakens and some had garbage this now puts all items at a = rarity on similar footing.

The last Awakening system was a failure anyway, and this is (almost) how it should be made. Sure, you may not like RNG, but the whole 'predetermined stats’ thing makes Awakening plain and less innovative to the point where every Wizard/Cleric would be going Scale Boots because it guaranteed high INT, every Swordsman/Archer going Plate Gauntlets for the DEX, etc.

This current one could be better though, by cutting down on what type of stat each gear can receive. Example: Armor pieces can only receive STR/INT/DEX/CON/SPR, Accessories can only receive HP/SP/AoE/ATK/DEF-related benefits. There’s still time for it to be modified a bit until reaching INT though, so no worries.

If this one change makes or breaks it for you, then I don’t think this is the game for you. :c

Consider this. Enchanting require all player to go to dungeon to clear all wave of mobs and boss. After several minutes you just get item with stat that you’re not satisfied. This will piss me off.

Ok i know some of you like gamble. But how about this. If you want to get vit stat you must sacrifice some monster card that looks like have a lot of blood, something like that.If you want to get int stat you must sacrifice some monster card magic type. How about the value range? Well, consider if you want to get max stat you have to finished all wave of monster, and when someone just finished 50% wave monster, they just get 50% of max value stat addition.

I think something like that is better than you have to feel depressed to repeating enchancement to get what stat you want. Besides alchemist will become the richest profession with that feature…

RNG is acceptable if it didn’t reduce potential, but I really rather it not be RNG.

Why is everyone so worried over data miners? That’s the least of your worries. Having it changed to random just makes it worse for the normal person because I guarantee there’ll be folks finding a way to make it so the perfect one comes out for them or have infinite tries at it.

at the very least i’d expect not to be able to get magic stats on my swords… otherwise random is fine.
