who says you have to re roll…if you really have that little time available to you why in the hell are you playing an MMORPG which the vast majority of all require time sinks.

There seems to be a disconnect here. Did you plan these builds out at all or did you just get bored and give up each time you ran into difficulty? I don’t see a problem with the bulk of these builds, mostly because none of them reached high enough ranks in the first place to form a valid critique (peltless swordie excluded). Sorry… just seems somewhat oddly placed advice.

TOS is a very VERY specific build based game.
always read guides of other players (Sadly but the truth) -
fun class that u like or wanna try might NOT be loved by parties.most party look for META builds that gives them the advantage.
-
some of ur builds are ok but i guess u arent perseverance enough to contiue.
so too bad lol. -
considering u re-roll at R3 most of the time, u will face a hell of a time in near future, when u wanna reach r6-r7,and suddenly feel like ur build isnt optimum (while most of us is often screwed around there)
lastly,i did suggest to IMC on opening up their classing availability so that every player can access to the classes and is able to just take another class after maxing per class to 15.
too bad there isnt responds from them and it seems the community doesnt wanna support this.
thus many more will suffer and eventually quit the game.
so do help support this post if u all thing it is actually worhy of the idea

same here, with similar playthroughs.
try a class, play for a bit, realize i don’t like it, and dump it.
i currently have 9 “active” characters, and probably dozens of scrapped ones.
( “active” being a relative term, and in this case simply meaning “i plan to continue them at some point”)
ugh, Archers. it feels like there are basically 2 metas: Burst, or Auto… and both of them are somewhat slow and unexciting to start. eventually i settled on an Auto type build, and resolved that i would mostly take all those classes with pretty costumes, and the hell with the meta.
there’s also the musketeer build, which basically seems to go…
–rank 1-6: lol whatever.
–rank 7: almost everything is scrapped, and you finally start the class you intended to play.
Swordsman 2 is a horrible waste of time. c1 for mostly everything, c3 for shinobi, because they rely on swordie ranks for their Bunshin skill.
Barbarians are fun, but seem rather underwhelming. having done both, i prefer the highlander.
Peltasta is good filler for rank2, unless you’re going highlander and just want to get on with that. but yea, it’s really a “swashbuckling plus filler” class.
…honestly, rank2 the only class that feels like a -good- choice is highlander.
Hoplites are very fussy with buffs. and then the buffs don’t even feel like they do much anyway. tho, multi-hit basic attacks are rather nice. if i had someone tagging along with blessing, that could be -very- nice.
Corsair and Fencer both look like fun to play, but i have yet to be able to force myself to stick with a swordie that long.
Cler1 > Priest3 > Chaplain
just stack the main buffs (Blessing, Aspersion, Sacrament), and remember to keep buying the components for them. lots of fun to pound on things, and you never need to stop till your armor breaks. for stats, mainly Int -or- mainly Spr. you can follow up with anything you want later, like another circle of Cleric, or take druid, or whatever you want. Druid and/or Plague Doc are popular caps.
Wiz1 > Pyro1 > Linker1
link a group, pull them together, melt faces. follow up with all kinds of possibilities.
Cryo seems like a great idea, but suffers from a lack of options. Ice Pike, Ice Pike, wait, repeat.
i agree, but not fully. i think that it helps to look at others’ skill builds, especially the ones that explain their builds. when you can understand -why- they took this, and didn’t take that, it will also give you some insight into what those skills can be used for (or what they might -not- be good at).
so read all sorts of skill builds… learn what seems to work, and doesn’t work, and why/how is does or doesn’t work…
and then sit down and make your own build based on that, and what seems like it will be fun and useful for you.
being -too- meta, and following the trend too closely -does- feel boring and lackluster, because who wants to be “just another one of those.” but at the same time, people choose those builds -because- they are proven to work, so avoiding them simply because they are the meta can lead to builds that are boring and lackluster because they fail to perform.
i’m not saying “follow the meta” and i’m not saying “don’t follow the meta”. i’m saying learn from all sources available to you, and then from that knowledge you can choose what will probably work for you.
some kind of Test Server would probably be great. but nothing basic like x2 or x3 exp. more like just hand it out by the truckload. give people simple /commands, like /rankup which will automatically level them up to the next rank. and then when they leave, wipe the characters, so nobody tries to “live” on that server.
EIther OP doesn’t research well on the class he wants or HE’s a type of person that can’t make up his mind even in real life, not the games fault, only you would reroll a character 16 times without reaching 200
I was theorizing whether the build would work on with the upcoming 8-10 ranks, I had a hard time with the swordsman build and with archer was pure wrong skills taken. I kinda guess ranger isn’t my play style too.
Probably yes it could work, however like I said it wasn’t in my play style, I wasn’t lazy either on researching about the build, it just doesn’t click for me.
I do have a rank 5 archer right now and seeing how they aren’t really suited for how I play is a good reason for me to deleting the char, also take consideration as the base job as a foundation for the next classes, I wouldn’t be so dumb to ravage my way on without having a good information about the class paths.
Except that the tp prices are high, Tp shop is bugged and just like what other simulators suggest to take skills that I proved to be unnecessary.
You do realize that if they implemented a class reset it would also be sold in the TP shop for probably MORE money than the skill reset? Might also turn the game into “Pay to Win” too…
Well that’s fine, It’s my time after all. But calling me a screw up is a flawed logic of yours, I wanted to try different skills and classes and choose what’s best for me. And mind you I do visit Tosbase everyday since I started playing.
lol just an extra hindsight.
i started one wat in tos knownt to be the hardest to lvl class
pure spr build priest 130ish now (which it is and there will be a future patch that buff up spr build’s blessing hooray~)
c1>p3>chap i left it there not deleting it becos in near future,it would be a fun class but u will need a lot of items to keep it going
started a diev c2>div3 which i stop at 163 current(slowly grinding)
becos it was a good class to support but as it gets higher lvl ,status becos a bother cos players tend to run all over
ended up with my current sorc which is 217
but i didnt made her instantly,it took weeks of reading while i play my other chars ,reading builds, chatting in the sorc megatread, asking question and getting info.
so i would say, research on ur char before u make one.
ur first char can be one that is meta or easy to lvl,jst for thwe sake of earning money and farming gear.
ur next few has to be well planned if u wanna last to beyond 200
becos…THE GRIND IS REAL from then on… and i am not even kidding u lol.
and 1 more thing do NOT delete higher lvl chars !~
keep them there and make another char.they will serve to boost ur team lvl which in turn boost ur exp bonus!
Yeah hahahaha, sorry for that. I did not planned to do highlander entirely, I was looking for the +crit damage on that class maybe c1 on that class is entirely enough and thank you, have fun as well.
Yeah, C1 Highlander isn’t super amazing, but if you know what you’re picking and have the idealology for it, go right ahead. Wagon for CC, Catar for decent AOE damage, Crown for INT/SPR chunk Debuff and Cross Guard for block+Stagger/vulnerability to piercing.
Problem is…people won’t know what to expect. And that should be changed. Give them a vague idea of what they’ll build into or want to. I know things but not everything because I take the time to basically screw around and listen on other’s inputs.
Yours is as valued as anyone elses, imo.
I can look like that if I wanted to…
am just too lazy…
