Advice from a person who re-rolled 16 times

I’ve played the game once the steam version was released, and boy was I ambitious, I immediately created 4 characters corresponding the base ranks. I would like to take it further into several topics as for how I support class resets / class preview; possible stats allocation resets, stat allocation visibility, and the early showcasing of rank 8-10 classes.

My experience on the 16 re-roll was horrific, 6 re-rolls for archer, 4 re-rolls for swordsman, 3 re-rolls for wizard and 3 re-rolls for cleric.

Archer builds I tried,
1st. A2>R1 -Rerolled
2nd. A1>R2- Rerolled
3rd. A2>Qs2-Rerolled
4th. A1>Qs2-Rerolled
5th A3>-Qs1 Rerolled
6th. A1>Qs3>Ranger-Retained.

Cryingswordie
1st. S2>B1-Rerolled
2nd. S3>B1-Rerolled
3rd. S2>-h2-Rerolled
4th. S1>P1>h2-Rerolled
5th. S2>P2>H1-Character Deleted

I express my thorough bitterness with dps swordie, this class is ■■■■ and useless. And for all the fuckers out there and meta slaves who always want pelt in team party, ■■■■ you.

Cleric
1st. C2-Priest2-Rerolled
2nd. C2-Diev2-Rerolled
3rd. C1-Krivis3-Character Deleted

Wizard
1st. W1>C1>Psyko-Rerolled
2nd. W2>C3-Rerolled
3rd. W1>C3-Chrono-Deleted

Now what did I get from this turmoil of ■■■■? I spent 300+ hours ravaging the lower levels. 3 classes were deleted although I was a bit hesitant with my last build for the Wizard.
Choosing skills is too much of a pressure, there’s a vast difference between watching a skill on a video compared to you using the actual skill; some might even fool you as for how strong a early game skill could be and plummet to no damage when accessing higher levels.
It’s better not to follow skill builds; copying skill simulator of other players would feel a little bit lack cluster considering everyone has different play styles. Again and again, this is often discussed but please for the sake of Laima change how low class circles scales.

Do we need class resets? Probably yes however there’s this concept I’ve been lingering in my thoughts what if there’s a class preview? A certain chance or a way for people to grasp the class entirely without going back and ■■■■ yourself with “Crap, ■■■■ this ■■■■.” moments. It’s a trial within a period of time to test the skills in actual combat, if that is implemented you wouldn’t have to go through several quests again and again just for a class re-roll when you feel the class doesn’t suit you. “But hey what about the higher level classes?” Yes I would still recommend it for the sake of class synergies, which I’ll later discuss.

I’m not completely sold with stats allocation resets since it can be abused if used in higher levels, they could just roll on with the most efficient stat build for leveling and grinding mobs then later change on to some serious dirty tactic when PVP releases; but what if there are two stats allocation tree, one for pvp and one for pve? Two separate tree with the same stats points, now you wouldn’t have to worry if you’re too much focused on pvp or pve build. Also it would be great if you could see the total of stats you’ve added into Dex, Con, Str. etc.

Showcasing of rank 8-10 classes, would I recommend a circle reset? Yes if IMC doesn’t ■■■■■■■ release a overview of the circles 8-10, I believe after circle 8 and 9 some would just cry and talk ■■■■ about their builds, we won’t have any idea what are the possible builds and synergetic builds, We’re clumped n rank 7 limiting the meta and everyone picks the same classes like hooray but if the game later on releases new equips for swordies, archers and stuff they might ■■■■ up their build. Class synergy would also trouble themselves since we won’t have a general idea what the playstyle or what would be the class about.

Final words, don’t be a meta slave, in the 16 re-rolls that I had, I can assure myself it doesn’t feel very rewarding if you just build the same or you copy others build without considering your own play style. Have fun I guess and let’s watch how IMC trolls everyone in itos.

Yes I’ve said this in less words multiple times:

The game is “Trial and Error”, therefore you don’t know until you get there. Things that are ‘working’ for you in lower levels can suddenly become garbage in later levels due to what I also said multiple times, “The game has poor scaling and balancing.”

This basically means you need to get to end game, see what players are doing right, see what players are doing wrong and try to figure out what’s best as you reroll your character however many times it takes.

It’s not really fun game design unless you’re a hardcore no lifer with tons of free time who really enjoys repetitive manual labor(Which, apparently, is a lot of people on these forums lol).

…why is that a problem if he shares his thoughts too? The more of the same topic means that it concerns more people. I think his opinion is just as important as yours.

Also, this first post of yours is completly original and useful. So, why do you make the same posts over and over again when somebody already did this?

If they create a dedicated thread that will actually recieve attention you will jump in there and say the same things there. It doesn’t matter what they do , cause you are just annoyed by the theme of the topic. Just deal with it and let everybody do as they please till it’s done in normal tones. He wrote down his experience and it might be useful to someone. You have no right to complain.

Now when we have literally hundreds of this thread ( no exaggeration) i absolutely will. Back when this started i didn’t. But now people with this topic were abusive to the forum and now they are treated as such.

You don’t know much about rights do you? I absolutely have the right to complain.

I don’t understand why you decided to reroll so many times o.o most of them look like they would have been fine. There’s skill resets too if you just didn’t like the skills you picked. I just don’t know how you managed to reroll so many times and not learn or find what you like. Do you like any builds? Does anything in this game appeal to you? Not trying to be offensive, i’m just genuinely curiouse to what your reasoning was for not liking all those different combinations. I only see a few that wouldn’t have worked.

I don’t really care if we get circle resets as long as it’s not in a p2w way and doesn’t invalidate the hard work of vendor classes and the like.

Ignore the hostile people, you don’t need to live in ToS forum and know everything is discussed daily here , your concern is legit

Sadly right now the hard way is the best way to know each class which is experiencing them yourself, a preview class builder (with some real game situations to test) in game could be a good idea to implement and would help a lot.

I don’t recommend re roll this earlier (unless you really messed point stats), try to reach the 7th circle at least to learn something from all the present classes, and if is not that good reroll, consider that the game is not balanced so thing can change in the future too , they need improve a lot of classes, in your place i would be bored to death already

Honestly an official test server would help with crap like this. No one would have much reason to complain if they could have a max char instantly and screw with it. It works on RO and Wakfu. Periodically they close the servers and wipe out all characters and equipment, keeping people from playing there. Also of course, a good way to test patches before they hit the servers. Less bugs and screw ups by far.

The OP doesn’t explain what went wrong with his builds, I saw that he rerolled a lot at circle 4 and rarely go beyong it which is WRONG.

Build began to shine or not starting lvl 110+ so at circle 5-6.

For example, this build wasn’t wrong at all:

1st. C2-Priest2-Rerolled

From there he could’ve become whatever he wanted depending of his stats allocation (he would just have to finish c3 Priest because of Stone skin buff). For example, you can easely go Chaplain and solo a lot almost everything without too much problem with that build.

So really, I think the OP shoul’ve took more time with the Skills simulator, read a bit around the feedbacks and ask himself what type of gameplay he wants.

Also, a lot of class low level can have trouble leveling up with an Arde Dagger and Cafrisun set that help a lot low dps.

I’m seeing more someone who doesn’t know what he was doing more than anything else.

Unless I’m missing some thing there’s not a single build listed there past rank 5. that 2 ranks which may not seem like much, however there are a good bit of classes that power spike much later then others.

Rolling a class into rank 3 complaining and then deleting that char because “OMG I’m weak” is a pretty poor representation of what the class could of been 4 ranks later.

yes there are classes that need balancing swordsman being the most obvious one at the moment. They will eventually get buffed as they already slightly have been in the KR version.

there is plenty of information on this thing called the internet and making a decision prior to choosing the path you want to take isn’t hard.

Because if you don’t have extensive knowledge of the ToS forum you would never think to use the search function. Its not like search engines are a tool used daily on the internet by most. Also ToS is the first and only forum to ever have a search function.

How could i have been so unreasonable to assume we lived in a world where such magical technologies could clearly not exist.

At least you know you are the hostile guy lol, he can use the search function, but i don’t see this like extremely necessary. If the moderators find it necessary they can merge or give advice to the op.
