I know IMC has at least two women on the staff (CM Leslie and the Art Director, Maggi), but I don’t understand what that has to do with being a CM. But yeah, for now, these forums are like a holding pen for ravenous fans.

Well, this forum was designed so that users can earn a certain reputation and be granted moderator powers. I think an idea like this isn’t bad, as a big community would be too much to handle for the IMC staff.
The problem is that, i don’t think that it isn’t even possible to earn other badges yet, particularly the invite related badges.

In my experience, all CM are women. I have never seen a guy became a CM before. Have you?

If so, the WoW CM is a guy. The main one I’ve seen anyway.

I didn’t play WoW, so based on my experience, a guy act as a CM is news for me. 
I’ve seen a lot CM who is a guy before, in my last mmo game wakfu they had a podcast event every once a month before launching an update. Yes… wakfu before was a nice game till now become ruined by multi accounter and the game feel deserted, and the last cool looking CM left the dev to the new CM’s. Its the only turn-based mmo that make the field you fight with the monster, your battlefield not like other mmo that going into instance to or map to fight.

You are confusing Sandbox with Open World. Not the same. Being able to run around and do whatever you want in a game like GTA doesn’t make it sandbox. EVE is Sandbox because nearly all of its content is player controlled. Players run stations, control the economy, start wars and build the ships that everyone flies around in. That is sandbox. Being able to run out to the street, punch a pedestrian and drive away in their car with no loading screen is not sandbox. There aren’t a lot of sandbox games out there. Archeage is probably the closest anyone has gotten to EVE. Crowfall I hear is suppose to be sandbox, but I’ll believe it when I see it.
