A first baindaid to enhancement system

I’m sorry but I have disagree with you.

Another Masinios Mace to enhance a Masinios Mace?!
Not everyone can have unlimited Practonium.
Not in all Servers there are a lot Practonium in AH.

In Fedimian server there are right now only 5 Practonium.

And look how many 350 recipes we have…

And you suggest to create another 1 - 2 - 3 weapon with 2 Practonium to enhance safe?
This is the worst!
I don’t know in which server are you playing, but Fedimian is almost an empty server so this suggestion can nerver be applied because is really impossibile.

Instead to make life difficult for us, what about put the limit of safe enhancement at +8/9 and put max enhancement at +16?
Obv remove that Potential or craft an Avil with the Sierra Powder and Nucle Powder for recover Potential (with a resonable amount ofc).
Everyone will have powerful weapon? Where is the problem?
There are a lot of games where people are at max equipment and still play.

Right now Tree of Savior is: make a lot of alts and sacrifice them for the sake of the main character.

What Nekorin suggested is similar to one aspect of PSO2’s enhancement system. There you can feed a weapon any other weapon until the normal upgrade cap of +30. You then feed it a copy of the same weapon to over-upgrade, but only up to +35.

Getting to +35 has a bunch of bonuses but don’t double or triple the base damage of a weapon. The ultra-rare weapons can also already upgrade to +35 without needing copies.

Currently, there is the matter of finding a balance between what risking the weapon will let you achieve. The risk-reward is worth it for easy to acquire weapons like primus, but too harsh on very hard to acquire weapons like masinios.

Perhaps nekorin’s suggestion can be used to address potential instead: Sacrificing a copy of a weapon can be used to refill the potential of a weapon for a penalty, perhaps like reducing the max potential of the weapon by one. To balance the difference between easy to acquire weapons and those that harder to get, the harder ones should have a higher max potential proportional to the difficulty in acquisition. That being said, you still need an enhancement cap for this to work otherwise diamond anvils will be too strong (or remove diamond anvils if you absolutely want uncapped enhancement).

Yeah, I’ve understand that.
But in Tree of Savior you can’t apply it.
When on PSO2 you have to “only” play, in Tree of Savior nope.

In PSO2 you can obtain the item directly or complete the collection at NPC by playing: do emergency quests and so.
In Tree of Savior you can’t apply this enhancement system because you need a lot of things to do: obtain the recipe, obtain Practonium, farm materials.
Is not possibile.

Well he also did mention that acquiring them should be made easier so that means it should be set-up similarly to PSO2 to make it work (in terms of difficulty to acquire copies of weapons).

Yeah, but means that IMC should change “everything”.
That’s why is not possible to apply it.

Who played PSO2 knows is the best game and most of games should copy it.

Honestly I like the idea to obtain the recipe, farming items and create the weapon.
But what Tos really need is not waste your effort, not apply more effort.

Fedimian shouldn’t exist anyways. Klaipeda should be one server for both NA/EU. Game is too small to support a dedicated EU server.

Thank you for your feedback. I am too aware about the problem of the difficulty in acquiring the really rare to farm equipment. If masinios is already so hard to farm, items such as the Solmiki equipment and Practo accessories from Worldbosses are leagues harder.

@Queue and @Wolfy also highlighted the same problem which you highlight too on the suggestion. Queue actually has a great idea on how to solve this problem, without changing much of the drop rates and material requirements of highly sought after items. His suggestion is something like using “step down grade equipment” for upgrade.

In the revised version, Orange non-HG items such as Masinos and the 330 practo items will require the same level of orange HG gear to upgrade. But due to Primuses being more common and easily acquired, 2 of the primuses are needed per level instead.

To upgrade Masinios Mace, the player will need 2 Primus Raffye Mace to upgrade it. For legendaries like Solmiki gear it will require 3 primus equipment of the same type per level.

To facilitate/aid players in getting the required gear type to upgrade, an exchange NPC can be added to the game, with an exchange rate of the following:

  • 3 of any Primus equipment grade of same level to 1 primus of player’s choice of equipment type.
  • 5 of any Berthas/Bertas grade of same level to 1 Berthas/Bertas of player’s choice of equipment type.
  • 9 of any Blue grade of same level to 1 blue grade of player’s choice of equipment type.

This solves the problem of gears such as having to run ET Solmiki for years just to get a +10 weapon. With the use of an exchange NPC it also resolves the problem of players having difficulty getting the same equipment type to upgrade. And lastly it gives more meaning to farm for gear as no matter what kind of pathetic stats they roll, they can be recycled into something useful for the player.

But with this comes the problem of rare equipment having no “decay”. Since these equipment are so hard to get players wouldn’t want to feed them to other weapons or recycle them. They will become permanent fixtures to be traded around without any way to reduce their numbers, just like the 3 stat headgears.

Any suggestions for this?

This is actually quite a good idea, using the same weapon to refill the potential so the player can continue on attempting for higher anvil levels. I am too worried about the lack of anvil level cap limit, since with potential being refillable players with diamond anvils will be able to even hit higher anvil levels.

I think not DA anvil problem. All of this because they have no cap max anvil enhancement same goes for potential .from there they should be able control tbl rebalance , cleric still broken and upcoming shinobi too , I rather invest more stylish skill looks awesome than just give that class more dmg/skill that still same

Previous suggestions are way too complicated and codewise it will require many checks per item alone, what of the white ones? Removing the potential and increasing the downgrade on higher attempts is simplier and more viable. Would also be a good silversink, IMC would want. Win-win, 3 birds in one stone. Bottomline is item will not die, diamond anvils will remain valuable, and lesser power gap between paying and non-paying.

Silver Anvil: Default
Golden Anvil: Decreases penalty by 1 when failing
Diamond Anvil: Removes all penalty when failing
Practonium Anvil : FB drop (0.01220703% shiny pokemon chance lol) 100% success rate only usable on going to +15, +21, or +26 for fun suggestion, could make field bossing as interesting as WB.

+0-5: no fail
+6-15: -1 when fail ‘15 white glow’
+16-21: -2when fail ‘21yellow glow’
+22-26(CAP): -3 when fail ‘26 red glow’

I hate the TOS anvil enhancement system because it not reliable. Even they reduce the silver cost to enhancement but it not interest me much because of the RNG. Not everyone have high luck.
They should revamp the enhancement, with the new dismantle option i think use the powder to enhancement the equipment:
Each enhancement level have enhancement exp require to reach the next level and the enhancement exp increase with the item’s rarity and enhancement level.

Trying luck to get enhancement isn’t bad. The problem is that you cannot continue trying when you fail too much.

What luck are you talking about?

lol next time ill upgrade ill settle on +11. 150m burned +14 items = 0, +15-+16 = never

Is this real? With that luck I would have bought a lottery card. If someone can do that with only luck, they surely can win the lottery.

This is a bit of a rant but yeah, gotta get it out of my system.

I’m a 3.9hrs freemium player here. I think I’ve spent a quarter or more of that time farming for orange mats back then when DPK was still a thing. Farmed a HoG, Wingshard Spear, and a Emengard Shield without buying any mats(got some from event) because I actually quite enjoyed the experience.

My enhancement experience has been nothing but hell. I’ve managed to +11 my HoG with 0 pots left with normal anvils + 24 gold anvils. As for Wingshard Spear, I’ve only spent an additional 10 golden anvils to +11 0 pots. Emengard Shield? Haha. Can’t even get to +6(from the new safe+5) without failing twice. Pretty much dropped the game after that.

When R9 came, I returned just to find out that I’ve missed out on a bunch of possible Diamond Anvils event rewards and that was really a punch in the balls. Can only blame myself for giving up.

Then I bought a Primus Spear just for the heck of it (12m) and started pushing through the limit. Ended up breaking the spear before +10.

I give up. I’m just that unlucky and Kim doesn’t like me.

PS: Personally, I don’t think there are any great ways other than casualizing the system by removing potentials or a way to regain potential (another same weapon? GASP!)

Pretty much my story. I have rage quitted this game many times just because the stupid upgrade system. You just get more angry when you see people here with their ‘legit’ no potential loss +15 weapons and you fail from +5 to +6

That’s actually a great idea, if Transcending was removed from the game.

See the game is balanced AROUND insanely buffed up weapon damages.

Difficulty just goes out the window when you can just overcome it with 12,000 shards.

You can make things easier, transcend 10 = 100% instead of 300% and anvils damage are -50% total damage bonus.
