500+ levels is too many for a game with no level sync option! How can we play with new friends?

It does work, I helped out a friend ( 100 lvls lower than me ) with priest buffs with exp set to individual, no issues. This isn’t a real solution though. The alternative to actually playing with your friend isn’t following your friend around slaving them. That’s pretty boring.

Playing low level content after you have already done it, with the same character, is going to be boring no matter how you slice it. You are much better leveling a pardoner or alchemist alt with your friend.

I agree there should be level sync. Don’t really see a problem with the abilites, you can scale them down as well. Or deactivate them according to the level of the area.

I remember a tutoring option being there in Everquest 2, but don’t remember how that worked.

But for gods sake no powerleveling. It will destroy the game completely. I dont want to reach max lvl in 6 months. Id rather have to spend 2 years on it( playing not 24/7 ofc ).

If you decrease the level speed and implement things to do outside increasing your level parallel to it, the community will flourish and you get your RO (party).

Good to know, and yes, they need to find a solution to allow players across levels to play the game together.

u got the point sir…but yeah it will only work for those 2 class…if the low level is pelta and cleric classes and the one who leech them is DPS also not work.
usually support class(include pelta if no dps rank or full CON) is the class that actually hard to leveling.
reset scroll exist when CBT…it can make leveling way faster…but dunno if they gonna implement it back into cash shop when OBT release…going full dps as support class is viable with those scroll and it make them prefer solo more than party(expect dun)…but again we discuss about play together here not solo.
and most of dps class dont bother to party at all…only when dungeon or world boss…well, sad reality because class system not balance atm.

Like any MMO there will be people who solo and people who want to party. Tanks had no difficulty finding dungeon or prison parties during this beta. It is not hard to make friends and quest together.

I’m completely okay with a level sync. Maybe I feel like re-doing content I enjoyed and getting something out of it even if it isn’t equal to what I can get at my current level? Maybe a friend of mine just started and I want to help them, but my character roster is full (or I don’t want to create a new character) and I’d like to use my main to do so without incurring an exp penalty against them for mobs I kill?

Level sync is an effective solution for these things and much more. I’d rather play a game with level sync where I feel as if I unlock more options of things to do as I level as opposed to feeling locked away from these options because of my level.

They just have to lower the max level cap and give the players the option to restart at level 1 but with additional stats bonuses. You may start with another town since they have 2 starting point on the kOBT. In RO they have the rebirth system where players restart their character at level 1 after they maxed their characters on their first set of job. I was actually able to play with my friends who just started the game because of this. This is Pre-Renewal set-up in RO by the way.

I believe Kabbalist has a skill to decrease level.

I feel like I cant talk about all my years with Ragnarok Online here. People tend to see that and turn off all listening skills and begin to form their argument based on Tree of Savior not being Ragnarok Online. Many of us played RO for a big chunk of a our life((and maybe we even still play!)) so it is our lens for judging all games.

With that being said, I loved the pre-renewal world of Ragnarok. The rebirth system was absolutely wonderful and I would love to see that system in more games. I wish Ragnarok would have kept allowing you to rebirth. Something about going over level 99 in a game has always just felt weird to me. I think it might of been all those years of pre-renewal RO that did that to me haha

There should be a party STAT share mode … so lower level player could get Dmg bonus and exp is shared along lvl.

So a lvl 100 + lvl 50 should split exp as 66% of lvl 100 and 33% for lvl 50.

Level synchronization is a bad idea. The purpose of this type of grind heavy MMO experience is for players to start off by fighting weak enemies in flowery fields such as caterpillars and bunnies. After a few weeks of gameplay, your character is finally able to kill bears and wolves. By the time you’ve invested a few months into this game, you are slaying hordes of dragons, and mythical beasts that don’t exist in the real world. By allowing new players to scale up would completely undermine the rewards granted to those who spent months playing the game. Furthermore, scaling a character down simply doesn’t make sense. It’s like Rikudo Naruto and Mangekyo Sasuke going back to the ninja academy because they made a few friends and want to be on equal footing.

Bottom line… If you want to play with your friends, get them to roll with you from the start, or roll a new character and enjoy the struggles of the past. At least you’ll have a buddy to play with.

You’re going to be real sore when you see the level 250 bunnies.

Also, remember this thread when you try to bring someone into the game and you can’t bear the thought of doing the same three month grind for the third time, and they outright refuse to play alone just to join you.

Dumb people like you tell crap all day without even thinking… just because you are free to express your idea, isn’t an excuse to give troll crap comment.
You didn’t even read the point of the thread and make sorry lame scenario…

Getting interrested in the game, is a mere feeling, that need to be pass down by communauty to new players. It is a business based on contagion, not marketing. If I can’t convinc my friend to join me, then it’s a solo game and I won’t last long.

Now you either share your thought or you don’t , and then vanish

“Synching” lvls would mean you’d need to “synch” your characters
rank choices + skills + gears too.

**Just think about it, a character “synched” to party with lvl 30, He has a mount, and Dragoon skills, easy grinding with low lvl alts gg.

While it’s true the level gap will be huge, there isn’t really much to be done.
Your best option, if you really want to be in par with your friends, make a new character.

On another note, im under the opinion that this game WONT suffer greatly.
Ofcourse there are people only living for endgame, 100% pvp life, nothing else, however those people usually just pushing to endgame are also those who will sooner or later cry for “more content/endgame sucks, lacks content” Very common in mmo’s.

This game is so huge, in my opinion, most of the game is about the adventure, the ROAD TO the endgame. For me it doesn’t make sense to skip “half or more of the game”.

And i repeat, IF the day comes where the cap is 600, and you soon you get a get a new friend to join ToS, just make a new character.

Something i could think of right now:
At best, maybe IMC could start somekind of campaign, where new players can start a “Guided Adventure” with a “Veteran Knight” for up to lvl 200-300
With discussable Rewards.

Let’s say a “VK” agrees to help a “newbie” all the way from lvl 1 to 200, once its done, an NPC will reward the “VK” with some sort of token.

Collected tokens could be exchanged for various items, maybe even an Exclusive costume, or companion if collecting enough tokens!

–Veteran Knight-- level 450+
I don’t know, do some quest, where you submit to guide “New Adventurers”

–New Adventurer–level1-200(“vk’s” shouldnt be able to leech you all the way)
Check a board for players that submit themselves to help new players.

“VK’s” could kill mobs for the newbies at 50% xp penalty, or something.
(ofcourse mobs has to be within the “newbies” lvl range)
a high lvl would clear mobs fast enough anyway, so the xp panlty would probably barely be noticed.

This has been a big issue for me too. I have 5 friends that are going to play with me, some more the others. The only personal solution I found was to make a “solo” character and a “group” character. One for when I play alone and the other when I play with friends. However, it would be amazing if they we’re able to do something about this issue. Even in the beta, one friend got ahead by only 20 levels, but that’s all it took to separate us from grinding together.

Go back to FFXIV if you want this feature.

You did not read my post correctly, and did not understand some important points I made.

@“2”
I included circles in the downscaling. Out-of-level-range circles go away, as do all of their abilities except equipment attributes. Mounts can’t be ridden. No reason pets can’t scale down also.

@“3”
You are condoning power leveling, and are therefore a fool.

Oh, and Luna? I’m still playing it. It’s great. Thanks for the recommendation, though!

Let’s just look at other MMOs that actually managed to do this well:

Suggestion: Party EXP share for people who are members of the same guild for some time, could be a week, a month, not sure.

Think about it, it’s possible to buy levels this way, but it’s pretty hard to do also, it’s also more noticeable for the staff as there are guilds being made and people getting to much higher levels after 30 days of it’s guild entrance (they could simply look for guilds that do that a lot, obviously if it’s the case of friends on a team there would be no problem.

Might work well together with other ideas like divided stats.
