Reading the whole thread made me think that the friction stems from the fact that not all of us have the same concept of âfriendsâ.
To some, friends are people who are FUN to be with⌠no matter how slow or noob your friends are, you still wanna play with them 'cause itâs much more enjoyable. You wanna help each other out in the game, but itâs not like youâre encouraging them to be lazy or greedy of your âservicesâ as a higher level player, but because playing together as a team of friends totally rocks! These people think, âI donât think my Level 500 character would matter so much when Iâm alone up there. This is not an offline RPG game for goodness sake, better play my pals and enjoy the game!â
To others, friends are TROUBLESOME creatures who slave them off for easy leveling, equipment, money, mats and whatnot. They think, "Why are these people pushing for a level sync option? You want an easy game tailored for your needs but ToS is not like that. The game already has itâs built-in game mechanics and itâs too difficult to incorporate the changes you are asking. Everything that I achieved in ToS - level, skills, build, equipment, mats, money, etc. - is a result of me executing a well-thought out gaming strategy and investing a lot of time in this game. It is possible to reach high levels without any help. Having a level sync is unfair 'cause it totally derails the achievements of a hardcore player.
I took my time to engage with the community and party up with other people (who I donât know btw) within my level, and I enjoyed ToS with it. I did all the quests, immersed myself with the music and the world, and leveled up with little or without any help from people that I personally know, and yet I enjoyed ToS. What nonsense are you spouting about when you say itâs not enjoyable to play ToS without your real-life friends? How come you donât enjoy it the way I did? Rethink the level sync option, and see ToS in another perspective - Iâm sure youâll enjoy it."
So there. I hope I covered the other side well 'cause Iâm with TS here. Itâs just the way I play - I play with friends. I donât stay long in an mmorpg without having any friends to play to. Sometimes, I meet new friends in game, thatâs cool. But I also have a set of friends who are my playmates since time immemorial. Itâs boring without them. So please, ToS, I hope you could let us play together.
