Wugushi Poison not stacking?

Hi,

just found that out wugushi poison is not stacking with another players poison and simply gets overriden/replaced, which makes having more than one wugushi in a party or in world boss hunting kinda obsolete.

Just wanted to know if there is any reasoning behind that, or just simply bad coding. This mechanic is like from 1999, no class should work like that and it should get fixed ASAP. Terrible bad design.

Usually those mechanics (which btw. are still pretty common in most MMOs and have their place) work in a way that the stronger DoT of the same kind sticks to the boss. But since the DoT damage in ToS is registered per tick (correct me if I’m wrong) it’s stupid to implement it that way so the current way is kinda what’s best for party play (you won’t have a 3x Wugu group…ever) but world boss builds suffer.

Thats like no longer the case for ages. In each mmo i have played DOT damage from various players within the same class, do not override each other anymore. I think wow had that fixed with Burning crusade.
Only “debuffs” that provide GLOBAL damage increase for all classes, like - defense or increase damage done to target etc pp, obviously do not stack.

However dot damage classes are kinda the norm in mmos atm and how absurd would it be, if they would override each other.

Wugush poison (Zhendu, needle blow and Wugong Gu) is treated as debuff and debuff does not stack.

GW2 Bleed, FFXIV Sorc/Sum DoTs, Elder Scrolls DoTs, TERA Warrior Poison

DoTs with the same name usually override each other in one way or another.
WoW is pretty much the only MMORPG I know that handles DoTs as individual entities.

Yeah thats the problem… Poison is treated as debuff so it wont stack and be overriden with the newest used/casted one.

And to make it even worst: The level of the posion does not count. So a level 15 needle blow will be overriden with a level 1 needle blow (just because it is used after it)

Its really meh to be paired in autosearch with another wugushi. (especially when I am a c3 Wugushi and paired with a c1 Wugushi… And that c1 wont stop using the clearly infirior posions)

Poison should be stackable … Its a skill and a whole class evolves around it

in swtor dots stack also, i am pretty sure they do in ffxiv also, never played ESO&tera cant comment

however i am sure the tera warrior or sorc the class can deal a good amount of damage without these skills, thats not the case for a wugushi tho.

If they didn’t change it in the last patch: FFXIV Summoner DoTs do not stack. They simply get overwritten by the higher leveled one.

Gw2 DoT do stack now. Only before there was a cap with 25 stacks of bleed but now all DoT can stack indefinitely after they changed how each skill/DoT scales.

The bleed effect stacks because it’s made to stack. The acutal DoT (aka the damage itself) is the one with the most damage.

Is it okay for poison’s to be a debuff and debuffs to not stack? yeah i guess, whatever it is the makers’ decision.

Is it better for each damage-only debuff/dot to be individualized? well yes, and this would fix the problem of bleeds/poisons being screwed out of someone’s effort.

sooner or later damage debuffs have to be individualized, if they want to keep players happy and the circle picked.

Its just mind blowing for me that players do not complain about this 24/7.

Fletcher’s Broadhead Arrow doesn’t stack too. It’s has DoT bleed effect over 12s. So a lvl 15 one can be replaced by a lvl 1 BA from another player. Ik it sucks.

In some MMO, there’s a limit on how many dot/debuff on bosses around 15-20. But in this case, even if there’s only 2 fletcher or 2 wugushi, u will end up override which is a really bad design.
