Wugushi guide by Rafafa

Sup boyz!!!
My friend is too lazy to post on forums(he paid me to do it), and I’ll share his guide of how Wugushi for full PVE. (If there are some english errors blame him, I’m also lazy to correct it :D)

After a lot of research and a lot of pondering I’ve decided to make this Wugush guide for the upcoming opbt. It’s important to say it again: this is a full pve full dps build. The description is kinda long but this is a guide so it’s expected. Let’s talk about the choices here: the skills, subclasses and all.

Status wise, forget dex, we don’t want that. Know that our poison dmg can’t crit, main reason to just forget it. No need for int too. Early on we get Spr for the sp pool/regen and a little Con so we don’t get too squishy. At higher levels we start going for Strength as this increase our overall dmg, poison ticks included.

The cloth mastery is what you want. A lot of magic dmg reduction and sp increase. This build is all about using skills nonstop. One hand bow and dagger is the way to go past lvl 90.

Rank 1
Multi shot - A great low level boss killer. Get 1 level of this, then upgrade it all as second skill.
Oblique shot - A good enough skill to grind in the early levels. Upgrade this first and grind.
Swift step - This skill is quite good, both pve and pvp wise. Some boss skills require your dodge and you should be able to move in and out of danger at any time. 6 seconds downtime is nothing for that dodge chance and movespeed.

Rank 2 - Why not c2 archer? Because it lacks further aoe. Kneeling shot is a good skill for pve, but we don’t get any dex so. Ranger gives you some good aoe and ■■■■■■■ Stead aim.
Barrage - Go for it. Nice dmg, nice aoe. Max is first.
High anchoring - Half nice half crap skill. Max it as your second dmg source.
Steady aim - Max this baby for last. Right now it’s a somewhat useless skill. But later that 15% atack increase for 10 sec downtime is gonna be crazy, even more so in extended boss battles.

Rank 3 - Don’t go for c3 ranger. You get nothing from it, and I mean nothing. Sapper gets us some more aoe to work with, weight increase attribute. And a nice outfit (this REALLY matters).
Stake stockades - Max this first. Awesome skill on maps with high mob density and even better with peltasta or linker party.
Claymore - Nice animation, some dmg. Max this second.
Detonate traps - Get one level of this before maxing claymore out and then max it last.

Rank 4 - The first step of our dream. The hardest one. C1 wugush lacks aoe so you will be depending on your previous skills. But when a boss shows up, you can poison it to the ground. I mean it. Some people will say the poison resistance boss have are a problem. Show them otherwise.
Needle blow - You main source of dmg. Single target hard poison. Max this baby.
Wugong gu - Nerfed needle blow. Higher on hit dmg. Lower dps. Spreads on meele hits. Boss only most of the time. Get one level of this. This is the only letdown so far. The initial dmg is good, but the dps is like ■■■■. Even the ‘spread’ don’t work well enough to be a usable skill. Even so, another dps to be used against bosses.
Zhendu - Apllies poison to every party member next atack. Boss only. Get one level and save the other points.

Rank 5 - Use that 8 unspent points here.
Needle blow - Still our boss killer. Max it second.
Throw gu pot - This is our new best friend. Heavy dmg 6 seconds aoe poison. 35 sec cd is normal at this point of the game. Use the unspent previous points to max it first and go grinding. Don’t spend any more points on this circle. Let’s keep going.

Rank 6 - The time is now! If you kept your points unspent as before, here your overall dmg spikes a lot. You should have 13 unspent points and we can just use it all now.
Throw gu pot - Max it second. Our best aoe spell. Duration still the same but almost double the dmg per tick.
Jincan Gu – There’s nothing better than see your enemies eaten by bugs that spawn more bugs. You just have to kill the first minion. The skill description lack some dmg info but believe me brother, this is good. Max it first.
Needle blow - 24/7 high dmg poison on boss fights. Dps can’t really go much higher. Max it third.
Zhendu - About time to get this. 5 sec downtime on another poison and your dps keeps going up. This skill also lacks dmg description but go for it.
Wugong gu - Meh

Rank 7
Cannon Shot - Insane overall dmg for 84 sp and a 5 sec cd? My body is ready sir. Max it first
Cannon blast - Highest dmg in here. Really nice cd. Max it second.
Siege burst - Another very good spell for almost no cd.
Shootdown - One level to deal with some annoying flying bastard.

Hmm, this build. It’s not very good, is it?

Oh God, where to start…

No. Just… No. You don’t need Spr at ALL as an Archer. The damage you lose for the minimal mana you gain is not worth it. You’re basically trading off the damage to kill things faster for more mana to spam skills to kill things. Which you wouldn’t have needed if you had the damage to kill things faster. This is even more evident when you Rank Up because of the 10% bonus to Str every rank you get.

Also no. You max Multi Shot first and leave Oblique Shot at 1. The amount of damage of Oblique Shot level 1 is enough to kill things. The increase in damage does not compensate for the mana cost you have to expend.

I agree with the good AoE. However I can’t agree with going Ranger for Steady Aim. You argue not to get Dex because poison doesn’t crit, which makes sense. Then why get Steady Aim? It doesn’t help poison damage either. The only skill that’ll be helpful to you as a Wugushi if you take Ranger is Barrage cause High Anchoring is ■■■■.

You don’t need max level for Detonate Traps, 1 should be good enough. Then put 1 on Conceal and the rest on Punji Stake for MOAR DEEPS.

No. It spreads on every hit. Even skills. And why would you gimp yourself by only putting 1 point when you’re going to end up getting 5 anyway by the time you reach R6? Might as well get 5 already and make it stronger while you’re trying to reach R6.

I agree that this skill is good. However, it’s only really good at high density maps like Demon Prison or Earth Tower, for example.

I’d probably leave Zhendu at level 1 just for the poison resist debuff attribute and put the rest on Wugong Gu. Wugong Gu damage is better and is semi-AoE cause of the spread. Also higher levels of Wugong Gu gives higher duration, therefore more chances/time to spread the poison.

No complaints here, just, you still have 1 unspent skill point in your ToSBase skill builder for your Cannoneer class.

Figured I’d just wait for someone else to do it. Also I’ll add that maybe the OP doesn’t know about changes to Wugushi, but on mine Wugong Gu’s ticks are doing almost the same damage as Needle Blow. Wugong Gu definitely isn’t weak at all.

Yeah I forgot to mention that some of the things he said are pretty outdated. Wugong Gu is pretty good now. I mean:

Wugong Gu Skill will be affected by physical damage
Wugong Gu Skill will be changed so that the poison-over-time damage is the same as the initial tick of other poison damage skills.

Also for this:

There is already this:

A change has been made so that it’s no longer possible to resist Wugushi’s Poisoning effects.

We really need an ‘‘Outdated Info’’ tag here on these forums hot damn, people keep coming with things from ICBT2 and related shenanigands, there’s people that don’t know everything about ICBT2 character wise was already taken out of the servers!
They may or may not keep the files for future reference who the hell knows, but you get where I go.

Ah since they are a lot of wugushi expert here
Anyone knows if steady aim % skill bonus applies to wugushi poison ticks?

It should apply to the skill itself since all skills are missile… But what about the DoT?

And I suppose it doesn’t work with Throw Gu Pot…

Nope. It doesn’t.

Like I said my friend only asked to me to creating this topic, I haven’t even read what his build contains(also said that on the introduction). I just copied and pasted here :3

dont rush, wugushi wasnt ready on beta 2 the main mechanic of the poison pot wasnt working, you couldnt use boss cards to alter the poison effects, for what I gattered from the corean open beta (i hasnt played, but foubd stuff on internet) there are some boss cards that make the poison become dex based and a paralyzing one.
Its too early to make a wugushi guide or judge the class since its main mechanic will only appear on open beta

yeah , guide/build shouldnt be made quite yet.
at least w8 until OB.

just learning thing , and how things works by talking about idea and such is the way to go for now.

Max Zhendu over Wugong Gu… Oh My!

Please, someone delete this thread before a newbie will take this build seriously…

I’m sorry but this is a very bad guide. I know you meant well and I appreciate your offer to help but this is full of several very bad irreversible suggestions.

Few major issues:

  • Don’t waste any points on SPR.

  • Taking Sapper 1 is completely useless, Sapper is a C2 required class and C3 is fairly underwhelming.

  • Rank 2 > You could take whatever you want, but a few points. Archer 2 seems useless at low levels because we don’t benefit from the Swift Step Crit % since we go STR BUT late game you can GEM in Crit Rate and benefit from it. I personally went QS1 (kind of regret it, but it is still very useful if you solo a lot since you can group mobs around it to spread poison and other AOEs.

  • Jincan Gu is pretty garbage (unless they’ve changed it in the last few weeks) it’s a 1 point or no point skill.

  • I find Plate to be the much better choice over Cloth… but it’s personal preference.

  • Max Zhendu is terrible, but I see you changed that so good call.
