Wugu/Musketeer Questions

I kinda want to go with this build:

But I’m kinda torn on stats. Wugu’s poison scales with STR, but musketeer needs more crit.
Should I go:
a) 120 DEX, rest STR
b) 2 dex : 1 str
c) 2 str : 1 dex
d) other

Uhhh, DEX dont give crit. You need to invest a lot in critrate or have some good skills that are affected by attackspeed for it to be good. I’d recommend high STR because your skills scale a lot with patk, and a small amount of CON based on your preference.

So option c then? or more str per dex?
PS Now that I checked out the stat calculator I realized a & c are basically the same… :stuck_out_tongue:

No like… Just go full STR.
Your poison damages with PATK, which you get partially from STR. DEX wouldn’t give you anything necessary for your build. Your build won’t use attack speed and DEX doesn’t give crit rate anymore. The only good thing for you from DEX is the block penetration, but you can get it by other means and except a few Hogmas, mobs’ block is low.

So the musketeer part of the build won’t gain anything from dex?
In that case, should I go full plate instead of leather armor?
How do I choose the gems then? This is how I originally wanted to gem my gear:
Weapons: Green (Crit Rate)
Chest: Yellow (Phy Def)
Legs: Yellow (Phy Def)
Gloves: Yellow (Block Pen)
Boots: Blue(MDef)

Both the Wugushi and Musketeer parts would only gain block penetration. Which makes it not worth it, yup.

No, you can go Leather for more crit rate for your Musketeer skills. DEX doesn’t give crit rate anymore (chances to crit), that’s why it isn’t worth it anymore for some builds.
You can put green gems on your Rifle, yes, for more crit rate. Note that if you want a good crit rate, you’ll need to also farm for equipment with good crit rate.
It is better to go for HP rather than PDEF or MDEF imo.

I just noticed ( :stuck_out_tongue: ) that poison pot can have a card inserted to improve Throw Gu Pot skill effect. That brings the questions:

  1. What would be the best card for the pot?
  2. Does the activated boss skill also carry the pot’s poison effect?

If 2 does, then I’d like a card that increases pot’s AoE the most.

At the moment I like these cards, liked most to least:
Honeypin = poison geyser
Biteregina = homing balls
Manticen = 6 earthwaves from the center
Mothstem = 6 tornadoes from the center

Sorry for reviving this old thing but I’ve got one more question to ask:
What would the better skill point distribution be:

  1. 8 Covering Fire - 10 Snipe
  2. 10 Covering Fire - 8 Snipe
Or to add 1 point into Volleyfire making one of these skills 7?

Also, regarding Wugushi:

  1. What’s the best card to put into Gu pot?
  2. Should I drop 1 point from other skills into Bewitch? If yes, which one: Needle Blow or Wugong Gu?

I use Honeypin card and like its effect (more poison). I don’t know if it’s the best but it’s effect takes longer than others.

My build is full STR (because of the poison ticks cannot crit).

I’m using red gems on weapon, planning to use red gems on chest/legs for HP (instead of phy def), yellow for gloves and blue for boots.

1 point to volleyfire, 1 point to butt stroke (for debuff attribute), 8 covering fire, 10 headshot and snipe.

Since oblique shot is available with musket, i put all points to swift step + oblique shot + kneeling shot. I rarely use other archer skills after musketeer.

As for cards, i’m still leveling my velnia monkey cards. Others will probably be STR or CON cards and dullahan, paint barrier or %2 hp recovery after killing medium size one (i couldn’t remember their names atm).

So it’s more about personal preference? If that’s so, I like Biteregina more cuz I just like homing attacks :stuck_out_tongue:

That 1 leftover point is also more to personal preference I see. I put 1 into Penetration Shot but I haven’t made Musk yet so I cannot tell if it’s better to take the PS (Attack 605% x 5) or Volley (Attack: 334% x 4, AoE Attack Ratio: 5)

Yeah, OS becomes kinda crap after rank 5-7. I don’t know how good it is with musket yet. I derped and put 5 into OS and 10 into Multishot, but I got one free skill reset so it’s good, but I don’t use Multi that much either.

I plan on:
Red: 3x Velnia Monkey
Blue: 3x Nuaele
Green: 3 x Netherbovine < currently levelling this
Purple: 3x Gazing Golem

This is my build now:

I don’t know if I picked the best endgame weapon though, any advice on that?
Also what is the best musket progression? Like this?
lv 220 Pajoritas Musket
lv 270 Purine Migantis Musket
lv 315 Purine Pevordimas Musket
lv 315 Emengard Musket
lv 315 Solmiki Musket

I don’t have a good weapon in Musketeer yet, but my other Archer with a good weapon and high attributes in oblique shot do good damage with the skill, and it’s specially good to gather attention of monsters.

100% personal preference, I sometimes change poison pot card for fun.

I haven’t tested or used penetration shot before. But, it pushes back enemies and does not have an attribute to remove push back effect. It may be good for emergency situations.

It’s damage is not good but I love to have it’s “slow” debuff attribute.

315 purine is rare on EU server (and too expensive) so I’m still using 315 blue one till make an emengard musket. Since I’m a casual player and bad at farming materials I may skip emengard musket and ET one and wait level 350 update weapons (they will probably release it before I complete materials for emengard musket ).

Ok, so more or less I know what to do. But:

  1. Overall is it better to max Multishot or Oblique Shot? Personally I think Multi is the better choice.
  2. Should I put 1 point into Bewitch?
  3. For Musketeer - I’ll put 1 into Volley and Penetration Shot, check out which feels better, then use my reset.
  4. So in the end the best musket progression (minus Solmiki) is:
Pajoritas Musket > Purine Migantis Musket > ERMAHGERD

Use PS at close range or vs bosses. It will deal more hits if the enemy is pushed along the line of fire. Volley attack is a filler ‘AoE’. It won’t be decent at AoE unless you stack +AoE or have a falconer/linker friend.

350 red musket is rare at least on KToS, haven’t seen one yet.

If you think you lack skills to rotate, use oblique shot with musket’s high weapon damage.
Swift step 15 (buff), Oblique shot (to debuff or aggro mobs / filler skill).
Wugu needle, wugong, pot, jincan (usual wugu build).
Musket: your preference. Just don’t use bayonet thrust, don’t level butt stroke beyond 1.

Sorry, one more question regarding equipment. I planned that:
Bracelets: Sissel Bracelet > Solmiki (Leather).
Top: Eastern > Solmiki (Leather).
Bottom: Eastern > Solmiki (Leather).
Boots: Eastern > Solmiki (Leather).
Gloves: Eastern > Solmiki (Leather).
But is there a better equipment before Solmikis for Musketeer? Like, different bracelet than Sissel, or lv170+ armors before Sol?

i think Kaulas set is better than Eastern before solmiki

It’s the lv320 hunting ground one, yes? Is there a Vienti version of it?

yes, but they are so expensive and not worth it for just a bit of dex

As for musket, should I make a Dragoon Piper or skip it? (I have the recipe and most of the mats sans the practonium)

go for it, this time is the dusk of orange weapon, if you start to make orange weapon i am afraid you wont enjoy it long enough before unidentified 350 weapon patch is coming
