Its just that I am becoming dissapointeed at myself maybe…deep down I want it to be smaller coz…If I quit…I will regret those hours wasted…but atleast I have an alibi coz I afk a lot haha😅 from now on I will lessen my afking😅
I’m still enjoying the game after playing for so long. ToS does have its bugs, imbalances and fps issues, but currently it is still one of the most enjoyable MMOs I’ve ever played. Linearity need a huge rework though, am at my 11th character and the same old quests are really getting to me.
Like what others have said, I too encourage OP to spend sometime in the class forums, they have really good info there. Do find a build which you like , ask for advice on how to tweak it and play. Meta shifts are common in this game. Players who follow builds that are meta currently but aren’t really in love with the class build, only for efficiency sake will be in for a rude shock the next time a major patch comes in.
One last piece of advice,
If you are a casual player, you will find this game really enjoyable. If you have a competitive mindset, as in want the best for your character, do a lot of research first before committing to any choice. ToS is like real life, choices we make are irreversible unless we do a reroll and start all over again.

I love the game and welcome. now the forums are toxic as hell and try to stay out of them as much as possible. yeah the game has its issues but i deal with them to enjoy the game with friends. end game content is too hard for most these guys so that why they cry about it so much . i run 2 ET groups and 315 group none of which are meta groups and we have fun and clear stuff so yeah… play what you enjoy but do make sure you build your char right and dont take terrible skills etc … research some before you make to many mistakes :P. Oh and find some friends. alot of very nice people to play with in game just try not to play with forum trolls to much

Builds are ± always meta, or at least the most common answers you get when asking for advice are meta builds. E.g. people flandering about how great &godly Plague Doctors are in the Cleric forums, and how people simply cannot go without a Rank or 2 of PD in their builds.
Meta is everywhere and rooted very deep in the class fora, and if you dive too deep into it, your build will most likely become meta,too. This is really sad because the greatest advantage of the game is how you can build unique classes by adding different Circles of different classes together.
This, however, is destroyed by giving out information about “efficiency” of this and “efficiency” of that and hilarious comments of how one should build his character with many people completely ignoring the thread OPs initial idea/thoughts[ and post a completely different build], resulting in “Tree of Frustration” if you try to argue against it.
But then again, if people were smart enough to use their reason and intelligence [to percieve,analyze and output accordingly], smart phones would never have become a thing, because they are way less efficient than normal mobile phones or computers, yet most people have one nevertheless.
This comment here is the essence of Tree of Forums.
