Tree of Savior Forum

Wow just wow. (I'm a noob)

Ok so I just downloaded this game a few hour ago. Man I am in love with this.

Old style J-RPG art/combat with Final Fantasy style jobs with Zelda style combat with controller support with crisp graphics and 60 FPS… Nostalgia is hitting hard.
The first dungeon I go into plays Psy Trance… PSY TRANCE! I love Psy Trance.

Anyway so enough about gawking over this game, I have a couple of questions.

Am I just suffering from being enthralled by something new? Will it lose its shine? If so, how soon? Whats end game like? Is there an end game? How story focused is the game? Does the story keep progressing?
Am I going to hit any walls where I need to spend real cash? If so, how much?

Lastly. While I love that there is controller support… I have a couple questions about that too.

  1. Will I actually need to use all of the hotkeys provided on the Cross Hotbars?
  2. Will they be updating/working on refining the controls because they’re kind of clunky as hell and I can’t seem to find any way to alter key bindings.

Thanks in advance!

Edit: Also… How do I get into a guild? Are there social guilds I can join to ask all my nooby questions about?

Jokes aside, the game is in no condition to provide fun, at least not for long, sad truth.

Its still sort of fun for me tho …even tho its a bit repetitive
If only they fix the huge amount of bug faster … (I know it takes time but…)
Oh well …just have to wait longer for that I guess

and man …the forum have before more and more toxic day by day

@kandicainevybz you probably would need all hotkey provided on the cross hotbar sooner or later (at least I am)
also there’s a bit of bug regarding controller, when using controller, be sure that you use controller mode (in UI mode), don’t use auto …or else you can’t use SET 2 …

Try it if you want to see why tho

As for keybinding …they did mentioned that a few month ago …but until now, still not available =.=;

Sooner or later, He will be joining the light and curse the propane faith he believes

To play TOS optimally you need addons (https://github.com/Excrulon/Tree-of-Savior-Addon-Manager) and a really good PC (the graphics might lead you to say otherwise but the game actually has almost everything 3D as you can see with one of the addons that let you tweak the zoom/view).

I have been playing since june/july and love the game. If you find people to do stuff with, the game won’t lose its shine

Hi.

I was the same during CBT1, a white knight at that. Good game, good hopes.

(I see the game very differently now and hated the devs and their decision making since EA)

It loses its shine once you hit the point where you are just doing chores to keep up.

End game is basically forcing you to play meta classes if you don’t have friends to carry you. This includes higher tier instances and WB.

For first timers the story can be okay, but it will be boring right away on your second character because you repeat everything basically, specially if it’s one of your rerolls. It keeps progressing, of course.

your first wall is to get a token, right now you may not feel it, but you lose more than what you think without it, specially once you have access to 290 dungeon and saalus, and more end game content. that 3 movespeed? oh it looks little but I tried playing without token and everything was just slower.

yes, I use 360 controller and 2 sets of them are not enough

they haven’t, they should. the fact that you can’t bind your own within the game is a real pain

2 options:
1 - play a meta character, you’ll get invited right away.
2 - make friends slowly in the game, you’ll get into one eventually

Oh, my sweet child.

Don’t expect the game’s performance to be great once you start going GvG (guild vs guild) and sought-after World Bosses. Prepare yourself for 10 FPS and below.

I don’t know, but I was once in your shoes right now. As for when and how the game died on me, just see my profile.

There’s GvG and Team Battle League but both are unfortunately only available at specific times of the day. If you can’t play on those times, too bad for you.

You can roleplay if you’re into that. Lots of nice costumes and hats in this game.

I can’t really think of anything else.

IMO the story stops being interesting post-lv.145 quests. At lv.240 you’ll mostly just be doing dailies (dungeons, missions, events, etc.).

If you’re willing to resist buying anything until you can purchase a token from the Auction House, then no you don’t need to spend real cash.

BUT…

If you want to be competitive and catch up with most players but don’t have the time to grind, you’ll soon realize how pay2win this game is. /sad

It’s simple “can’t beat 'em, join 'em!”

I haven’t heard about anything regarding controller support being improved in a while.

Either no one or not enough players (most are likely using keyboard/mouse) are complaining, or it’s working fine. If you have problems with it though, good luck getting IMC to act on it.

Luckily, there are a lot of friendly guilds in this game, at least in well-populated servers like Telsiai and Varena.

My best advice would be to just keep playing the game and see for yourself. I’ve provided warnings but those are mostly based on popular opinions and my own.

If money is no problem for you, spend a few to get at least one 30-day token to ease your gameplay, but don’t immediately spend too much unless you intend to become a whaleknight.

Kudos and let me know if you haven’t quit by the time you start questing at Tenet area.

So i guess my “I quit” thread will come soon™.

@sandynicole320 I am trying to make his flesh more tender before he get himself skewered by his own hype. (That sounded totally lewd LOL)

I’m 1765 hours into the game and still love it.
The game got it’s faults, but for me the great community makes up for it. (In my guild and discord, the community in General Discussion is shit)

The quests kind of lose it’s shine the second time you do them on a new char.

End game is all the acronyms; GvG, PvP, ET and WB. (Guild vs Guild, Player vs Player, Earth Tower and World Bosses)

If you enjoy reading all the quest dialoge, the story can be really good. But its optional if you want to read it or not. And yes, the story keep progressing.

The only thing i would recommend spending cash on is getting a token.
The only other reason to spend real money is if you like to play dress up.

If you go to Guild - Promotion you will find all the guilds there.

And as a genereal tip, put some thought into what char you are building and ask in the correct Class and rank forum for help about it. It will save you alot of time and will make the game more fun for you in the long run.

True, the way they are doing is the most retarded one, taking a good project for PC to end up like this to generate money for a crap on a system that is unstable as ■■■■ (android), and in all honesty, even if i ever had a good data plan for mobile, i wouldn’t waste in games.

I also am a PvE lover, i play with a friend from long time, we are together for more than 10 years playing games and we jumped all over the place trying to find a nice one, we stumbled on this one, it was love at first sight, but the mother-in-law (IMC = It Milk Cash) that came with it burned the dream fast, well, we shall see how things goes, but if it will happen what i am thinking here, i can see people not getting invited to guilds or even dun rushes because they aren’t fully upgraded.

If things get nasty community wise, and i bet it will, i will leave, i came here to relax, not to deal with retards and their fat wallets.

Been enjoying it since EA day 1 with over 2700 hours logged and 14 Alts ranging from 180-330.

My advice, stay away from these toxic forums. Enjoy the game for what it is, and leave when you don’t find that enjoyment.

Minor things aside; It has yet to lose it’s shine. Well, IMC has dirtied a bit, but… The gem is still under there. Welcome to TOS. Welcome to the Forums. Please be advised to stay away from the Hue-General Forums. The rest of the forums aren’t bad.

Hm. Thanks for the info.

About meta characters… thats kind of a shame. I was hoping to be a Dragoon at some point hah.

Where can I find info on class builds than so I can start doing this right?
