With no trading, there's no point to having friends

I play with my friends and it’s pretty easy to farm something.

There are different party modes like random and round robin that will distribute loot quite equally.

However it would be nice to have party mode where party leader distributes loot to not unnecessarily lose potential on trading.

It will solve most of the broblems, and the remaining can be solved by buying token with $/silver.

Though I agree that trading should NOT be VIP function, but your reasoning is lacking a bit.

I understand they tried to help against the gold sellers and BOTs but this really doesent help at all. with a lack of auction, no trade , lack of shared storage and megaphone spamming unless they don’t do anything its going to cause problems . The reasons I believe this will cause problems

Lack of auction. ok I understand if you wanted to limit how much people can sell but 1 item seems a bit extreme. it makes it so most stuff you find you rather sell to a NPC than a auction. also 48 hours to retrieve silver makes it just not worth it. it really needs some sort of work, even if it went up to a few items and gold was not instant but a lot quicker it would be better.

Lack of trade. people have made it so clear what the problem with this. it makes the game feel like a single player experience. it takes trading and haggling outside the auction house out. with a game with no direct way to sell via shops there’s classes but they sell services not items . this was to prevent bots and gold sellers but what will stop them just buying token and still selling? it makes no sense at all. anything would work better than this way. level restriction, limit to trade a day something just to allow people to interact with each other and trade gear and items together

Lack of share storage. ok I keep finding stuff I cant use. i cant trade as theres no trade and i cant even use it on alts as there’s no way F2P can even trade with their own characters. the shared storage also has the huge con of not being able to trade silver. so that kind of defeats the purpose of making squires, making alchemists to make money. you cant exactly use it unless you do your shopping with them and even then wont it just lose potential? it just does not work.

Megaphone spamming. ok this really needs sorting. so you want to prevent gold sellers? lets make it so they can buy a megaphone every 2 hours with TP and spam it with their level 1 character they made. like they really need to sort this out. a cooldown to using megaphones, a level requirement to use it something to make it so those spammers have to actual work towards using it and will slow them down. making them easier to ban,

IMC you really don’t need to go to extreme measure to prevent these people. small changes and someone to ban then ones who actually make it though the changes would work. like if trade was made available at a certain level like 20-30 something like that .auction had more slots so stuff people find they can actually sell to others who may want it. and megaphone spam had a limit of use or a level requirement ,you would reduce the amount of people and it would make people happier that they can use these features even if not straight away.

I think i know a game like this too… dont remember exactly which… but i have to agree that some market/trade limitations are necessary, but ToS has almost 0 tradings and market are full of limitations.

Still i like the idea of being able to trade with friends only after a few days, also you could limit the friend list, of course the longer you play more people you know

Currently round robin 90% of the time still gives the item to the person who did the most damage.

What reasoning am I lacking? IMC claims trading stops goldselling. It doesn’t stop goldselling it all because goldsellers just bypass it by listing a junk item on the market for a ridiculous price. All this does is hurt the rest of us who want to play with our friends and trade items and help each other. If anything, IMC’s reasoning is the one that’s lacking because the initial reason they did this has zero effect on the tiny portion of the population they are targetting.

The point of a premium is to provide a BONUS to your free game experience, not provide a crippled free experience in order to have you buy a subscription to give you a basic function that’s standard for any other game.

Having token benefits does not mean free trade. You have limited transactions and deplete your 30 trades count even if you deposit anything in the team storage, apparently passing stuff to an alt counts as trading. So keep that in mind next time anyone complains, because they might decide to extend the 30 trades to everyone, which is still almost pointless.
Maybe 30 trades for free players and unlimmited for tokens, like many have suggested before.
We will see how much they listen, and if they listen to the right complaints instead to those who lament the lack of hairstyles… dot

Is exactly the reason i didnt mention it in my post earlier ^_^.

Well for now we just have to wait, IMC maintance will be tomorrow, great ammounts of suggestion were send for IMC and some of the suggestion are very easy to apply and seems more useful than what they did.

I’m not defending IMC but as a programmer fellow you can’t just change everything out of the blue

Trading is one of the things that they have to concern, it still a 1 week game based on korean server to start

Usually early access or open beta releases are made to start an economy on new games

If this trading system remains after F2P, then the game will just be sent to hell

They definitely need to get rid of the trade restrictions. The reduction of an item’s potential is enough of a con to keep trading to a minimum. At the very least they should allow item transfers, even if they prevent silver from being traded.

I wanted to recommend this game to my group of friends since we were looking for a new MMO to play together. Unfortunately, it seems poorly designed at the moment. The trading restrictions are hurting everyone except the gold sellers who constantly spam the shout channel.

Clearly a bitching post from someone who wants things for free and feels entitled to get them from others. Here is how you solve your issue:

  1. Get a job.

  2. Pay an equivalent Big Mac’s value of cash to support a game you enjoy playing (even though clearly you’d rather rant)

  3. Play TOS with friends and have fun.

IF either of those steps trip you up, repeat from step 1 and try again.

** I agree that regular trading should be included in the base form of the game though, that you got correct.

The OP, and many of us, just want regular trading at the end of the day. Not being able to give things to friends and strangers to help one another out sucks.

Seconded. I totally agree on everything you said and the original post.
And I guess there’s more that I can’t understand. Like setting a paywall still makes sense (only a very little bit) in some way, but not being able to transfer money from one character of yours to another makes absolutely no sense at all.

fking no trading no player interaction is the dumbest thing ever… i literally got 5 of my friends to buy the early access on steam and play with me on TOS at launch and its barely been a week and every single one of them already lost interest in this game because of the ridiculous restrictions and issues the game has. We can’t do sht together. WTF?

Who are you targeting in your post? No one is asking for things for free. Making assumptions about people isn’t contributing anything to the discussion.

They shouldn’t limit anything for free players like trading with friends… They need to look at Blade and Soul and TERA and take some notes. Those games have cash shops for cosmetic items and people are able to pay monthly if they want bonus stuff like shop discounts or more character slots.

I was excited for this game for a long time but it looks like they really ■■■■■■ up with these stupid tokens and forcing people to pay to do anything in the game. I’ll wait till it’s really free to play.

Buy a token and shush. The trading is fine.
and on every single one of the points you pointed out about trading and having friends.
I am leveling with my friends and we share gear, recipies and whatnot all the damn time.

How?
We all got a token! TADA! Magic the problem is solved.

They gotta make money somehow and I am willing to support them when getting something out of it and trading is one of the things I am fine with.

Have you seen Blade and Soul bot problem?

Can you specify what you mean by the token solving the problem…? Like are you able to specifically share gear to a specific player you have partied with? In other words, can you trade “x item” to “x player”?

Roll/Dice (need before greed) system for parties please.

I’ll not continue to play this game if these basic features are not implemented.

I agree. I can understand trade limitations per day and it would be a much better idea than the tokens.

Though, a truly better idea would be just having people try and get rid of the gold farmers. Every MMO deals with these exact issues, but only IMC came up with this stupid solution(if you can call it a solution).

Gold farmers will die down after a few months of the game being launched. IMC should worry about putting block and report as a right click feature rather than trade. Having the report feature like that would help eliminate gold farmers more than they realize. Players will go out of their way to hunt the bots down.
