I agree with the fact that some people are overreacting, but I also believe that banning people indiscriminately is not good policy and is a good way to turn off a player base.
Even for the people who did “exploit” this intentionally, this wasn’t the same as crashing servers, or packet editing, or using any kind of unapproved tool to get an advantage. It affected almost everyone due to IMC’s mistake, which caused innocents and opportunists alike to get banned.
Banning should be the punishment, not the procedure.
