Will TOS NA fail?

I’ve been following TOS for a while now. I was very excited when I first discovered this game due to its resemblance to RO, which I used to play many years ago. Lately I heard some very bad things happening on the Korean server, like how it’s p2w etc. Will NA have the same business model? Did the korean publisher address their problems or is it a total flop over there? What’s the status? Anyone know? because I refuse to get milked like a cash cow despite my extreme desire to play this game.

Best thing to do, since it’s free to play, is to just…play it. :0 See how YOU personally like it! If you enjoy it, maybe throw some of your money at it; if you don’t enjoy it, nothing lost besides a bit of time.

It’s not NA TOS, it’s iTOS. Also, the korean version afaik is run by Nexon which is infamous for making games pay to win or ruining them in general. I believe iTOS is run by IMC directly so maybe that won’t be a problem.

I know there’s no news coming up, but that doesn’t mean you should be shitposting.

How am i shitposting or starting drama? Just one post and I hate the toxicity of the community already. I genuinely want this game to succeed. After all I’m a huge RO fan - I still listen to the original soundtracks regularly and when I heard SoundTemp was involved in TOS i couldn’t be more excited, I named my WoW main Asurastrike and played for 7 years. Lately I’ve been playing BnS and guess what, I named my character Magnus Exorcismus. I don’t think any of you is a bigger fan than I am. I am not trying to start a ■■■■ storm. I am just very worried about the status of the game and hence the questions. I don’t see why you gave so much ■■■■.

I dunno.

How is anyone on the forum going to answer you?

We don’t even know the plans for monetization in the West, just that it’s F2P. Neither do we know if we’ll have more bugs, etc.

If you want to know how we’ll do or not, play for the first month. Speculation before a game is out based on monetizatiton and success of a different region is useless.

Great way to start a storm right there.

As well as not searching for any similar topics beforehand. Both versions have been compared a number of times in different threads already, and it always comes to the same conclusion: Until the international certain is out or staff confirms any information, then it’s all just theory. In my opinion, nothing else needs to be said past that.Don’t blame us for something you failed to do.

Not to mention, if you expect this to be anywhere near RO, then you’ll be greatly disappointed. Music and art are probably the only things that are similar to RO.

No worries, friend. They’re just butthurt that anyone could possibly hint at the suggestion of their baby-game potentially not working out as well as they all want it to, and aren’t mature enough to simply answer your questions without giving you crap for asking. :V

It’s like asking Christians if they think Christianity is going to work out in a new country where it hasn’t been introduced yet. It’s just asking to be flamed. :boom:

Ever hear of…hyperbole? ;3

Or, we don’t care to speculate about the game’s business model that we are all oblivious towards.

I like that you didn’t bother to answer his question(s) as well; just another shitpost.

I was the first person to answer his question, actually. :3

No, you just told him to play the game blind. You didn’t answer any of these questions.

No one can answer these questions because we aren’t staff or development for the game. It’s basically as @FatePGN said.

If someone asked me for directions to a specific store, but it was because they were looking for an item that could be found at a closer store, I would tell him he should consider going to the other store. Just because answers aren’t provided in a specific way doesn’t mean answers weren’t provided. :0

But who could blame the people swinging at him? He asks us to Oracle the future of a games cash shop that we don’t even have a release date for that’s under a different publisher, calls it the “North America” version, and says:

…as if one person who just joined yesterday represents the entire community. Then he tops it off by assuming he’s the biggest fan of ToS in this thread, yet he’s unaware of the state of the CS in the Korean version.
But we’re the bad ones.

The only noticeable CS issue there is that 1:1 Trading is for Token-users only. That’s all.

Anyone know what’s the bot/gold spammer situation over in Korea? This is another thing I’m really concerned about. Bots destroyed RO, and a lot of other MMOs. How’s Nexon handling this in Korea?

Don’t be mad at us, but it’s not like we can see the future or anything.

See, it all depends on how well things will be delivered. Depends on how IMC will get our community’s trust.

IIRC there were thousands of ban hammers that were brought down at the start of kOBT and the subsequent weeks when it came to bots. So they were pretty fast at handling those. IDK about gold spammers though.

There were quite a few bots I saw in the 2nd closed beta, but I’m not sure if it’s anything they have addressed since then. Other forum members might know better. :0
