Why Tree of Savior Needs An Advancement Reset Potion

I am against this but for some reason i’ve watched the video and listened to what he is saying and realizes they were all true! yeah! the descriptions were lacking and its true that they are nerfing the meta builds that makes you want to reroll again. ToS have many builds of choice unlike other MMORPG so if you are an open-minded player you know what the video is talking about.

A limitation of 1 advancement reset potion per characters would fix this problem and it should be expensive.

Dude, if you actually watched that video, he addressed this point.

This game needs class reset potion because there is just no way some people are going to reroll after spending 300+ hours on their character with plenty of hidden quests and achievements unlocked only to have their character screwed over after some “major balance patch” or a vague skill description.

Well, I know the reset potion will not come anytime soon. IMC has already made a point about this. But I believe it will definitely come in the future when the game is dying and people quit because their build is ruined after major balance patches. But Ktos will probably be the first to get this though.

I’m sorry but some people just does not have the luxury of time on their hands to reroll as they see fit after every “major balance patch” or mistake they make when selecting classes advancement.

For example, look at this guy I saw in-game. There will probably come a time when he realized how badly he screwed up his character and it’s either reroll or quit the game.

I hope the staffs of TOS take a look at this. This is a big reason as to why I quit this game.

if i were IMC and this damned community forces me to give them class reset. id give them with the following mechanics:

  1. Resets class to rank 1
  2. Class Exp requirement equals to the last class multiplied the ranks you’re leveling until you reach the rank you reseted.
    (example: you reseted at rank 6. you’ll reset back to rank 1 with class level exp requirement of level 6.
    when you reach rank 2. class exp would be Rank 6 exp 2
    rank3 = Rank6 exp
    3
    rank4 = rank6 exp4
    rank5 = rank6 exp
    5 <- it ends here
    Rank 6 class exp reverts back to normal.

I have to ask. Are the people the want this and the one that dont play 2 diferent games?
I for some reason see 0 diversity now ,90-99 % are the 2 top build for class.
Can some one show here the diversity you are talking about.

I would be more receptive to the topic though if it is not named “Why Tree of Savior Needs An Advancement Reset Potion”. It is just a lazy, easy way out to fix the issue that will make the game lose diversity.

For the OP video, Agreed that skills need better tool tips, but the maker of the video also failed to see that all skills (charged, instant, channeled) when the player gets hit while doing the skill the skill will be interrupted. Out of Body isn’t an exception to it.

@lans1234567890 I don’t get why you say there is no diversity. Everywhere I go I see players with different builds and not just meta cookie cutter ones. Where you get the 90-99%?

A lot of people pick non-meta build because they like the class concept and they expect some revamp, buff for these classes in future (if they are too buggy, clunky, weak, offer nothing unique,…), Different class concepts doesn’t mean diversity.

Most people with those non- meta class/build just login to do daily dungeon and mission. The game don’t offer much contents to favor their favorite classes. The best way to through this dark time is play with friends, which most people don’t have.

Those with dps build like wiz + ele or fletcher 3 will milk world bosses until the boss system get fix then they will milk dullahan, those who build meta utility support build are always be welcome in party, leave non-meta class/build with little chance to join party behind.

Why would you pick A,B,C when you can pick beter A, better B, better C? Why would you pick this class when the game don’t offer anything favor it? There is no good reason to build full tank swordsman, there is no good reason to pick Necromancer, how many hunter, thaumaturge you seen at end game?..

Pretty much this, my one an only exception is the released of new ranks and only if they offered 1 time deal reset in case the new classes do not work. Example would be Zoo Keeper (archer) that requires a falcon, but you are a Fletcher 3 cookie.

You get 15 slots for a reason people, explore and waste time leveling that’s the point. That the end game, is a never ending leveling story (joke for them prudes)

I think the KO video about a group that cleared floor 17 (probably 20 by now) with a kriv3 proves all classes can shine with the right combination.

Yep I agree with what you say, the game currently offers little to non-meta classes at 280 if they don’t have friends/guild to play with. But then the game isn’t like what most MMOs are, which the content only starts when the player reaches 280 (current peak). The game starts when the player creates the character and focuses on the journey towards the end. This is evident that most of the really good gears are split across all different levels, like cafrisun @lvl15, arde at lvl90, petamion at lvl130 etc. This is also why you see many classes and builds are great during the journey to 200. You can build almost anything and still be viable.

There said, there is no content at all after 232 (Cranto Coast). The game just abruptly stops there, what is released after that are just quick stop-gap measures that IMC did to give players something to play with while they prepare new content, but sadly it is still incomplete. This is something akin to what a number of AAA companies do too, they implement something quick first, then over a series of patches slowly add more content to bring the other classes/builds back up to par.

I’m just going to state an example here. D3 with its Greater Rifts, it was implemented and only the top builds can get to high GRs with it. Many complains back then, it is only through numerous patches and balancing then you can see other builds get to the state where it is now.

As per what many others have highlighted in numerous other similar threads, if the game rolls out a reset potion, it will worsen whatever little diversity we have now.

By human nature, players will often or not, pick the path of least resistance. Having a reset potion just give players more excuses not to run non-metas since they can reset to the most efficient build to do that job. Class pigeon-holing will be even more apparent, it is either reroll to wiz3ele3 or we won’t take you as a dpser (although now is still bad).

IMC should actually do more to balance up the classes though, understand the game is still in its infancy, so do hope they will actually balance up the classes to increase the diversity of the game.

Well some people here are old and don’t have time to play the game and wants to grind fast using DPSAOE builds and just switch back after maxing up.

Pretty sad if you think about it.

actually abt this video maker problem with the sadhu and bokor is very simple. he needs to safety zone 1st before using OOB.

tell him he got to think a little harder which might be easier than making a video.

and learn to research your skill before picking. dont be stupid like the owner of that video

Sometimes I wonder what is going on in the minds of these people. If a player plays a cleric, cast a spell like cure/heal/safety zone etc… if he/she gets hit/push out of it mid animation, the spell is going to be interrupted and the skill consumed.

The game already put forth the concept of “skills is going to be interrupted when get hit by a mob” since the first time the player uses a skill at level 2 and he gets hit while doing it. Out of Body is a skill and it isn’t exempted from this.

ppl like to complain before actually learning the game

Just make the item allow you to reset one circle with 2-3 months cooldown, and raise the price to 200-300 TP.

If you worry about P2W just make that TP item tradeable and it will apply a debuff that don’t allow you to use reset item until it duration expires

@_Nekorin Yeah, pretty sad. But nothing will change soon, so we will keep suffer in a long time while people who playing meta build having fun by calling us moron for not copy their meta build

Yep nothing will change soon. Maybe it will be like D3 when they buff other classes to be more viable then it will be our turn to laugh at those who play the “past meta-builds”.

For now just enjoy the game as-is, that said even when IMC gives a class reset potion or not, it will be a couple of years down the road. They have more pressing things to worry about now (especially new content). And they have already indicated that it aren’t easy to add in the class reset which means the idea of having it in their game isn’t even within their planned updates over the next few patches.
