Why is OOB bad?

Lets say you go:

You get: MATK x 2 (henge stone) x 1.5(OOB) x 2 (attribute) x 1.8 (chappx8 *100% uptime) = MATK x 10.8

With a high stage weapon you can get serious damage with OOB while still able to use other skills.

Why people keep saying OOB sucks ??

Woah easy there, dont go and multiply all of those.

Henge Stone and Chapp cards havent been tested yet but are likely on the same tier together (additive). Knowing enhance is on its own and OOB is x 1.5, you end up with (base damage x 1.5 x 2.8 x 2), or x 8.4

Already a bit less OP. And remember that all goes after enemy defense and OOB has a mere 100 Skill damage. (less than some C1 skills…) that you cant level (OOB levels just increase the range)

And that’s just the math part of it. Let’s not get into the billion issues with OOB in game right now lol.

Yup. Not as good as icbt’s oob. This is old news but yeah. I forgot sadhu existed until I saw this thread.

Well, the investment is way to high too use it…its not worth it… it might be good if u insanely invest …

It is multiplicative.

Words mean nothing to me. Numbers or bust. I mean, remember how people thought Murmillo was great for Pelt because everyone was screaming about cassis being a target modifier? And then the numbers got crunched, turns out it wasnt. Good luck finding people willing to go pelt murm for damage now (assuming they’re aware of how bad it is)

Out of Henge Stone, Chapp, Enhance and OOB, at least 2 of the 4 are going to be additive unless one of them goes before defense (which OOB and Enhance dont).

I am currently building my third sadhu… I still believe there must be a way to make OoB viable.

I am aiming for a clerci2/sadhu2/druid3.
I hope to find a monster to transform into that can somehow enable the hidden damage buff

EDIT: Nvm, it is multiplicative.

But it doesn’t change the fact that even with all these multipliers, OOB is still just decent. With lv50 attribute and 8 Chaps I’m doing about 3*6k on non-ghost bosses while a single tick of Cure WITHOUT Chaps does 11-12k on non-ghost/dark.

Will it help when OoB becomes psychic element? Do we have sources to amplify psychic damage?

OOB becoming psychic element is definitely a buff but it is not significant.

+50% against itself, +25% against dark and holy, no weakness. Just a slight buff nothing game changing.

Well, but chances exist we might get cards that increase psychic dmg for X seconds …like it exists for all other elements

Or something like Agni but for psychic element.

OoB makes for good bait for cure and other ground skills or to gather enemies and then detonate…

I some times use a mix of fade+ diev statue to attract the mobs and then use oob as a remote bomb from safe distance…

OoB normal attack doesn’t cancel fade, so it’s good for lowering the enemy hp before the final strike.

sadly, it doesn’t work on boss cause fade make boss regen hp and the OoB dmg is so pathetic the boss hp will stay 100% :expressionless:

I got confused by the Min and Max damage from Vienarazis Mace thus I thought it was additive. So I just went nude and calculated again.

16 MATK from collection which doesn’t get doubled by Hengestone but is affected by Chap cards so:

Base - Collection:
999 - 16 = 983

Hengestone + Transform + Collection:
983 * 2 = 1,966 + 16 = 1,982

Hengestone + Transform + 8 Chaps:
1,982 * 1.8 = 3567.6

Or (983 * 2 * 1.8) + (16 * 1.8) = 3538.8 + 28.8 = 3567.6

So yes, it is multiplicative. I was actually right… :sob:

because its one letter off from boob

Very nice, thank you @Pearss.

Now IMO from what I’ve tested OOB in TBL (Druid2 atm, no chapp/transcendence) and the mechanics of sadhu are very good:

  • Easy to hit oponents(with the exception of cata).
  • You very safe with merog shaman(safety zone).
  • Prakriti/astral explosion are great for defense.
  • WW is great for OOB.
  • Sterea troph is awsome for OOB.

In GvG you can probably stay in OOB for as long as you wish, while doing great damage with your stage 10 (I can dream) weapon.

I guess the idea that “oob sucks” is based on PvE alone and I still don’t agree its bad. You can argue that it needs to much investment but most if not all classes need high investment.

About mdef lowering our damage, this is a factor for all multi-hit skills physical or magical, its how the game works. With transcendance in the game multi-hit scaling is far superior compared to the new rank8 skills.

Comparing OOB with a high base damage multi-hit like flesh cannon (2500) with a 2.500 dmg weapon, OOB 1.5 multiplier gives you the same base damage(with transformation).

Another important consideration is that nuale x8 gives you 1.8 mdef, chapp x8 and druid3 henge stone 3.6 matk.

I could be missing something, please share your ideas.

Bosses won’t recover as long as there is a valid target somewhere near. U can use your companion asa punching-bag… or a diev statue. Or Aukuras

no pets for now and I didn’t notice the statue vs recovery…

prob too busy getting knock back all the time I put one cause the aggro is instant and fade is wordless against boss aoe xD

thanks for info, I will be sure to remember it

I assume this is with Henge Stone buff and 3.6k per tic?

Not all statues keep the aggro, but Laima does for sure.
