Why is everything so limited in ToS?

Limited amount of buffs?

Why is this even a thing? Is it a limit with the code? Makes no sense

Limited amount of dungeon runs?

If that was supposed to stop bots farming, then they can just make more bots, every character has separate entries so this does nothing?

Limited amount of missions?

Same logic applies from above

Limited trading between account characters?

Its not like you can run 2 bots at the same time under the same account so why is this even a thing? What?

Limited market entries

Is this made to prevent bots to mass sell items? Doesn’t work because you can just make more bots to get around it so that makes no sense either?

Have to wait 2 days to receive silver

How is this going to stop a RMT? Giving you time to see it? You cant even keep your game mostly bug free, its riddled with bugs everywhere. See this -> List of Bugs <- for just a summary of bugs, damn.

There are no active GM’s on except at ungodly hours like 3AM, and its so predictable, RMT can just sell during day when GM is off? If you can’t even keep your game in check how are you going to have the staff to check for mass RMT transfers in the market?

I understand putting some of these restrictions behind a paywall to get people to give you money, not very cool but whatever. But why limit the player even AFTER they give you money? Forcing players to pay money to get just a little bit less restrictions is not cool at all, and doesn’t even make any sense to begin with.

Limited class choices for late game

It is understandable that you shouldn’t just be able to make a rainbow of different circles without any foresight and have it clear late game. You should have to think about synergy between classes and what stats you should be investing in and actually do some thinking, so that when you do make a cool synergetic (inventing new word lel) build, you feel inventive and rewarded.

But currently, there are only a few classes that are “acceptable” in late game, the META’s, but why is that?

Lets pretend that you are in charge of a game with a class system similar to ToS. Now lets say some circles are underpowered while others shine for no apparent reason, and on top of that we aren’t even including synergy between other circles yet, just focusing on individual for now (not every circle should have synergy with all other circles after all, that would be boring). What would you do?

A: Buff up the underpowered circles to match the others, or make them all useful utility wise and/or interesting as the others, since having all classes do the same damage would also be quite boring.

B: Nerf the overpowered circles to match the others and keep them balanced, might upset some players (or alot)

C: F*ck balancing, and build all the new mobs with HP and Def/MDef around what the current DPS the overpowered circles do (and/or the current META of the game)

D: Other, idk

If you chose C you either are trying to be funny, or you’re a sadist, but either way, Option C is what IMC chose and that is the point that I am trying to make here

Because IMC chose option C, the mobs will now be eh/normal difficulty for the META builds, but be very hard for all the others, see where I’m getting at?

This forces people into choosing cookie cutter builds because only those will really work late game (unless someone finds a new META build of course) and really dampens down on creative or experimental builds (unless of course you really just love grinding and have the time for that.) However, very few people are like that, and catering a game to a very small population does not really bring in the money that well.

Limited amount of shout chat length?

I understand there needs to be a limit but 150 bytes is crazy small limit? I know you guys did this to prevent chat crashing clients but this is like a band-aid to a bigger problem that you guys need to fix.

Limited end game content

ET, PvP, Dungeons and WB are the only things end game? GvG would be interesting if the game was actually optimized. (My computer can run games like PoE and GTA V max graphic settings at way over 60fps, but can’t run a 2.5D chibi art-style game at more than 30fps? Even after editing config files with no addons? Okay)

ET is bleh, not interesting. WB is fun and I enjoy hunting them until fps lag. But other then that, that is it? This would require a lot of work but there are tons of cool things you could add to the end game, like Raids and/or Invasions, hidden dungeon maps that the only entrance to them are portals that randomly spawn and despawn throughout the world, events like having to search for a random item and the first party to find it wins a prize (I’m just randomly throwing out ideas but you get the point, there are not a lot of cool events to attract casual players to get high level characters)

Didn’t expect this post to be so long and I don’t feel like spell checking so yeah, I won’t be playing ToS for a while, and no, this isn’t a OMG I’m quitting and here is why thread.

  • IMC Needs to fix their game
  • ToS is perfectly fine and you just need to GET GUD bro

About rebalancing all class. Well i suppose IMC dosen’t know there is the hell simple way to do this. % scale with pDMG or mDMG. This will fix all meta problems here. Of course meta will be exist but this no longer will only one and true choice to do anything. Expect now when after 280 lvl IMC do - answer C. This is really hard? Just put like - Deal 175% of your pDMG? Or something? That mean even Highlander will do something on late game when actually this class is useless after 200 lvl and with only Highlander skills you can’t Kill anything. Yes sure IMC, keep going and kill your stronger trump card - theorycraft freedom.

Almost all of those limits are either game design decisions, (as in, “else hardcore players overrun other gamers/the content” or “you have to do the most “efficent” thing, else you are not “competetive”” (leaning to less diversity and fun)) or business wise, which should be logical by itself.

Personally, i would hate to have to do the same dungeon overandoverandoverandover again.

Well it not like most of players just do now 130 or 290 rush only. On 2 or 3 or sometimes even more charachers. Other dungeons? Only while leveling. Once.

They have to make int/str scale with all skills or lets say the most skills.
The “Base damage Skill System” we have now is the worst with so many cls.
If the skills scale with Str/int the lower rank skills wouldn´t be op in lower lvls because str is low.
But on higher ranks they still would be abel to deal damage.

Even if they have to rework all damge calculations from the skills.
(It will take forever you know how slow IMC is)
Otherwise with r10 we will only take support cls/skills on lower lvls.

u forgot to mentioned

It is getting bullshit tbh…for your information, they ban the silver seller but not the silver buyer. This whole restriction thing is totally working so damn well…against the normal players. Seriously botters dont even care about time. First 7 days trade restriction? They just have to make more accounts, create a character and leave those accounts for 7 days. Trades limited by token? Token are mere 2mils on market, easy for botters. Limited market entries? Transfer item to another character in the same account to sell it. 2 days market silver retrieval? Just leave it for 2 days…why’d botter care so much about a single trade when they have multiple accounts multiple characters running around.

Here is my take on it OP. IMC just doesn’t care and is more focused on another project.
I decided to finally throw in the towel. Left because of party bug. Came back because it was fixed. The two friends I made left and never came back because of party bug.
I enjoyed playing up until these recent buggy patches. Then I decided to finally throw my towel in. Why? Because I refuse to deal with the bugs most importantly I refuse to sit around for more than the duration of my pardoner buff and not get queued. Tree of Queue.
I could go into a list of problems with how they manage the game and what problems the game has but they have already been listed in various other threads.

Game has a lot of potential but bad publisher. The way they run Tos makes the idea of a private serve seems too enticing and appealing. Too many silly restrictions. Sure I can deal the the restrictions to a extent but the one thing I don’t get is the standing in place for dungeon queues. If I didn’t work from home would have quit ages ago if I had a limited window of opportunity to play the game and most of it spent trying to get dungeon queue.
Really like the idea the game has but the silly restrictions killing it.
Look at skyforge had potential but the silly restrictions and how to unlock stuff made it lose players. Then they are now trying to turn things around but people already lost interest in it.

It would be awesome to have a private server, someone make it ASAP!
