I have just finished translating all suggestions I gathered from the most popular gaming forum in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau.
Before listing our suggestions, we have to point out that some illegal players in Taiwan server are using a glitch to level-up without having to move at all. One day is far more than enough to get to Lv. 280. Taiwanese players are extremely upset. A quit wave is coming if nothing strong is done to stop this game-breaking glitch.
Here are some suggestions and problems I gathered from the biggest TOS forum in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau.
Mouse mode
- Unable to click certain NPCs.
- The target strangely priorities summons and structures.
- Sometimes the character starts attacking even out of reach. For mages and archers, it does not stop moving even after releasing. Difficult to target small monsters.
UI:
- Teleporting:Releasing a click while dragging the map accidentally triggers teleportation to a location where your mouse is hovering on.
- Unable to remove the number “1” while inputting number of amount for items/silver
- Unable to create a party with a name. Parties can only be named after creation.
- Parties shown on the left side should allow application by just a click.
- A recommended party member should also shows his/her position.
- It is tedious to invite members one by on on the recommendation page.
- The public parties page only show a few and cannot be refreshed.
- Cards should show their fronts in the inventory, without having to hover your mouse on one.
- The mouse often automatically blinks to the center of the map when using a teleportation goddess.
- Unable to check skill CDs while sitting. Unable to put ingredients on hotkeys after 10/11, making it inconvenient for hunting.
- With any UIs opened, please block the Backspace key for teleport.
- Changing channel should not reload the whole map.
- Extend the number of weapon sets for fast switching.
- Some skills cannot trigger auto-switch because the skills is not cast-able without hold certain weapons.
- Add multi-selection for gifts in mailbox.
- Make mailbox sorted by pages instead of scrolling.
Battle:
- Occasionally hotkeys stick to resting mode even when standing.
- Character is annoyingly placed at the top of a monster which you collide with.
- Occasionally the target does not change automatically even when out of reach.
- Occasionally the target locked onto friendly summons.
- Leveling-360-degree-knock-back is only a nuisance or even drawback.
- Sometimes team members’ bodies seem to be stuck and unsynchronize with their soul.
- Melee attack with power staff is incompatible with joint penalty, which means it does not share the 200% MATK damage. And even without JP, sometimes the damage only hits 1 for monsters with buffs/debuffs.
- Pirate clover buff icon does not disappear after it runs out.
- It would be nice to have options to priorities certain buffs so that they don’t get pushed away by members’ buffs.
- Monsters which can combo a player to death by constant knocking are too difficult.
- Monsters are sometimes glitched and stay even after death.
- Add 5-second invulnerability when switching maps to prevent death while loading.
- BUG: Using skills before being hit by any controlling debuffs will “freeze” the character. No action can be done before it ends by itself.
- PVP: A fresh round sometimes does not reset and initialize many skills an buffers.
Chat:
- PM cannot show with other channels.
- In the middle of typing, teleportation disables your chats.
- Too many words censored.
- Unable to turn off system message.
- Messages is shown according to categories. Sometimes new messages are stuck far above.
- Friends on/offline reminder is sometimes stuck at the bottom.
Auction:
- Needs more categories such as recipes and head 1, 2, and 3.
- Items with common names such as “Mace” cannot be searched.
- Unable to set favorite items.
- Unable to set satisfied price for notification or auto-trading.
- Price limit is unreasonable as it only causes trouble for players, instead of working as instended.
- Skill scrolls should have names according to the skill.
- Always have to re-open to properly display items.
- Cancel 48-hour delay for collecting silver.
Gem:
- Unable to insert an amount of ingredients in the gem upgrading page.
- Death resulting in loss of gems doesn’t make sense.
Balance:
- Either remove DPK system or have both RNG and DPK for all item. DPK is unfair and does not actually reward hard-working players as intended.
- The effects of STR and INT are laughable. With the high base damage of R8 and new weapons coming out, it eliminates the need to put any points into STR and INT at all.
- Top gears are too powerful, rendering other items of same positions useless.
- Too much grind to reach the threshold of creating a guild.
- Cards should be able to consume other ingredients to level up, or something especially for upgrading cards.
- Death penalty by loss of cards is unfair for wizards and wugushis.
- Once a recipe is registered, only ingredients should be needed to make the item without the recipe…
- Debuffs like ice, stun, and knock-back apply before the animation finishes. This is unfair in PVP and difficult to deal with.
- Lack of incentives for solving quests with other players.
- Deleting a character should refund EXP cards accordingly
- Make unpopular jobs relevant by adding more skills with synergy.
- Double Pay Earn should be a buff and not only limited to a single target.
- Higher Ranks should not be overpowered to eliminate all lower tiers. R8 effectively makes all >R6 offensive jobs irrelevant.
- Some classes, such as Wizard3, Cleric2, and Linker2, are too important, making it impossible to choose other paths.
Adventure Journal and Collection:
- Getting max points does not further reward the player. The silver reward is insignificant. Things like unique hair dyes or heads would be nice.
- Information of how to obtain hidden titles should be purchasable via an NPC. Some NPCs are already selling information about maps.
- Points should be summed by all characters in the house, instead of separated.
- Points from obtaining equipment should not account for enhancement.
- Characters should share 100% exploration and the rewards.
To be honest, most players in Taiwan are not satisfied with the current state, but we generally love the game. Considering RO had the best success in our region, we have high hope in TOS as well, even though the two games do not share much similarity.
