Why IMC will lose money after removing regional pricings

Ok, im going to do some calculations based on the info I remember seeing in the forums. If i remember correctly, SA+brasil+SEA+RU= 70-75% of the game population(lets leave it at 70) while eu+na=30.

Lets assume playerbase is 100 000. Also na+eu pay 55$ avg(iirc eu paid a little more, dont have the numbers so lets just set 55 as avg) . While SA/br paid around 25-35$ and ru paid around 16-20, lets set the avg at 25. So we have this:

Player base-------------------100 000
Brasil/sa/sea/ru-----------70 000
Na/eu----------------------------30 000

Profit/income with regional pricing:
70000 Ɨ 25= 1 750 000
30 000 Ɨ 50= 1 500 000$
Total= 3 200 000 $

Profit/income without regional pricing
0 Ɨ 50= 0
30 000 x 50 = 1 500 000
Total = 1 500 000

So indeed, imc is losing revenue with what they did. I personally do not mind if we have regional pricings or not, since I can afford the game either way, but I can understand why it sucks for a lot of people and why A LOT of games use it(league of legends, terra(if i remember correctly), dark souls, gta v,cs go,etc).

There’s really no more need to explain. There’s a reason why Steam implemented regional pricing, because it’s very successful. It just not make the product reach it’s intended sales, it increases the revenue by several folds.

I mean i really do understand why some people are against it. But there is a reason why almost every company uses it.

If anyone wants to argue with me, please use numbers/data in ur posts. Arguing with people saying ā€œyou should pay as much as i doā€ brings nothing to the table

Still…very few people will buy the EA now, since they mostly wanted it for the access to the game, and if that’s the case, they’ve already bought the pack. No reason to wait 2 weeks lol.

Numbers would still apply for tp too, but doing the math for that would be assuming to many things.

Your ā€œnumbersā€ assume that no one will buy from SA/SEA/CIS regions which is simply not true. The amount of purchases will be less but not 0.

It doesnt matter from what region you are - you still want your character to look pretty/unique. Just purchases from these players will be less often.

your math is just plain stupid. (sorry to be that harsh)

Please don’t try to do these things if you have no clue about it.
just because you raise the price does not mean no one will buy it anymore.
also the cheap TP flooding the marketplace (for example in the form of head gear with perfect stats) will lower tp sales from other regions like NA/EU. this whole thing is so complex that it is much harder to calculate.

I am sure IMC did their math (since they have the numbers we don’t have) and if they came to the conclusion this is best for their revenue than that will be the case.
No matter how evil you think they are (and i don’t think they are evil at all, quite the contrary), they would never make decision to hurt their income.

i can understand people being mad, but this topic is out of scope.

Just point me 1 good decision that IMC made…
The ones that the comunity asked for doesnt count…

they made a pretty fun game in the first place. something i doubt you or actually 99% of the whiners on here could ever do.

Still w8ting for the good decisions White Knight…

created tree of savior and working hard to improve it

They took 7 years to release the game with bad optimization…no security and full of bugs…they are sure tring Hard…
They say they are fighting Bots and GoldSellers but a lot of players are geting cought in the crossedfire…
Its the same as waging a war and kill a lot of inocents for the sake of victory…
The bots are still there by the way…

Pfft 3 weeks after F2P, these whiners will just forget that the prices even changed and start spending after being jelly of those who are willing to spend.

Game doesn’t even require TP to be played in the first place.

Trying to actually work with the amount of insatiable people on the forums.
Trying to bring their game overseas so people not in Korea could actually enjoy it.
Trying to, instead of letting a grubby westerner publisher get it, publish and develop the game themselves (Which isn’t an easy task, Neople is a good example on what I want IMC to eventually become.)

But whatever. I’m pretty sure you’ll call anyone who responds to you a white knight, not that it makes you any more credible other than knowing a flame-baiting term.

So you just dismiss his points with the good old ā€œwhite knightā€ excuse? That gets old pretty fast.

I asked you to point good decisions made by IMC…
So far none…
You are all defending a company that said…
ā€œSteam will handle the pricesā€
That lured a lot of non Europe/US players to buy the DLC’s because they tought they would be able to continue buing TP( wich makes the games a lot easier) after the game was F2P…
And now they change the prices making almost unfordable for most players…
You cant undestand how cheated every one feels??

Calculating revenue goes beyond whatever you call this…
This is what you want http://lmgtfy.com/?q=maximum+revenue+formula

Stay in school, kids.

i wanted to buy cus i want TP and potions from pack 1, now i won’t =)
and i don’t plan to spend anything in the game, ever =) i alredy stocked 10 tokens so i probably can play without pay for some years

this decision is just dumb, a lot of ppl bought only the cheapest pack or only pack #1 or #2 and were waiting for the sale to buy all the three packs. now they will buy nothing =)

and the best part, the players will not quit, they will just play f2p, server cost will be the same, but income will not

I don’t even get it, they used the Boleto exploit to explain this change but… They didn’t even have to pay to get the DLC(that’s what made it an exploit), how’s increasing it’s price going to do anything? :c
It’s obvious that they’re going to lose money, any1 that benefited from regional pricing is most likely not buying it anymore, while it didnt change anything for those who pay with U$ or €.

That’s a stupid restriction, since some of the best decisions a company can do for their game are ones based on community feedback. But here:

https://treeofsavior.com/news/?n=377 And it’s slightly more advanced than the usual ā€˜Report Bot’ function in F2P MMO’s + allows players to build ā€œtrust levelsā€ on their account by reporting properly.

There’s your good decision. If you want to try and find an excuse to make that not count, then how about this one:

The game was placed solely on Steam, which allowed everyone to have regional pricing for 3 weeks in the first place.
