Why I and others will quit playing

All games can be a time sink, but you can say that for anything else. The difference in all of it is that you have FUN.

But when you start out playing, you can’t even just play. You spend time researching outside of game. You spend time re-making character.

There is too much of a heavy punishment to pay when a “mistake” happens. In money (IF you are lucky as sometimes money won’t even fix it.) But even bigger is time.

This games biggest flaw is it makes you realize very fast that you’re wasting your time when you are being forced to re-make a character and start over.

Also I’ve paid for games before or game perks, cosmetics, etc. But never have I been “forced” into buying things because of game “mistakes” (skill reset potion). That is just ridiculous business model.

skill reset description:
"A very useful potion for those who just cannot get their skill build right"
Even that description is just a slap in the face.
Things change, outside your control even (nerfs). Whatever the case may be, there shouldn’t be a “right”.

TL;DR->
Game should be fun and not make you realize how much time you’re spending playing it.

This game has too heavy emphasis on getting a “skill build right”. Mistakes aren’t fun. Being punished isn’t fun. It doesn’t foster the discover and explore new spells and classes mentality of every other MMO.

This was/ is pretty common? Like, a lot of F2P models has this. First that comes to mind is old Maple Story, before Big Bang (i.e. before MapleStory became bad)

Have you not overcome it, then you haven’t been in the MMO scene very long. At least not the F2P.

Other than that, I think the skill reset potion should be tradeable, at least. The same as tokens.

How do you get your builds wrong? Its straight forward. Magic class --> INT physical class --> STR. Then just add a little con and dex to your liking.

I don’t mind time investment. Lots of people don’t mind grinding a lvl 280. But no one wants to restart the SAME character because of a few bad skills points or picked 1 bad class when they already leveled one?

That’s the punishment.
That’s not fun.

This is why I bother using skill tree simulators. While it’s not 100% up to snuff with the most recent content, it still covers most of the class options, so I saw no reason to not depend on it.

This game demands some sort of prepping. You can’t look at a 200+ cap in any game and assume you’ll get it right on the first go, especially if you don’t prep.

Agree those quest arent fun at all. Hey, but when you are a casual gamer and just want to relaxing play, everything worth.
And I have 2 lv 280 already, rest above 100, working on my 8th character. Just so you know some people can still have fun remake character.
And bye , more mobs for us.

That’s the point, it being tradable, in most games things you buy from cash shop are tradable, so f2p players can buy it from casher players, so if you farm enough you can buy it without needing to spend real money, but ToS just force you to spend or start a new character because things are untradable.

You don’t need to buy anything, and if you don’t know what you’re doing then I -would- recommend doing research before playing, but it’s not hard. You can get 120 in 3 days as a f2p. What kind of model are you even suggesting? Businesses would love to hide the fact that you’re wasting time playing their game, I’ve got some bad news though. No matter what you’re going to be wasting time.

Making new character is fun. RE making the same character is not fun. It’s not fun doing the same build 95% exact because you messed up on a few skills points or took 1 class you change your mind on.

When the issue is reduced to that one comment, it feels like even less of a big deal (not trying to be a butt about this btw), to be honest. The possibility of making a mistake by investing in the wrong skill is a possibility on a great deal of mmo’s, and it’s not an uncommon thing. Regardless of whether you’re level 50 or 200, that risk never changes, and shouldn’t be taken lightly.

Did you like read my first sentence? Lol. I already said yes everything is a time sink, but the difference is if you have fun.

And I don’t need to be buy anything? I’ll gladly buy things actually. If it’s for unlocking features, getting new cosmetics, etc.
But i don’t like being forced to buy things because the game suddenly decided to nerf a spell? Or because I took 3 points in the wrong skill?

Yes, I never disagreed with that.

But saying that it’s uncommon in F2P games that you cannot trade it is just a straight up lie.

How do you prep and predict future nerfs? How do you prep and predict what Earth Tower is like when you literally just started playing?

That’s not called prepping by the way. That’s called trying to be perfect and not make a “mistake”.

It is IMPOSSIBLE to be future proof. Let’s be straight about that. Also it is not fun for new players to spend hours OUTSIDE of game to “research” so they don’t get screwed over later.

Like what’s the intent of the research??? Is it to theory craft and learn new builds or is it to not be screwed over? There in lies the problem.

They should give Alchemist the ability to craft stats/skills reset potion, provided you have the mats (which could be really hard to obtain or cost like 3 million).

Could also be a new way to profit as an Alchemist and charge like 100k to craft the potion, as potions are going down in prices and it’s really hard to gain anything as a crafting class.

You’re coming off less frustrated, and more spoiled with your intent at this point. Nerfs and adjustments happen in mmo’s, it can’t be avoided. You will be inconvenienced when you play one, and you will have to accept that if you plan to continue playing one. Unless it involved an entire class rework, I don’t recall a company ever handing out free resets whenever one skill was adjusted.

You need to also keep in mind that regardless of what formula changes may happen to a skill, a great deal of the time, the base/core purpose of that skill remains. So even if, lets say the Barbarian’s skill Helm Chopper, were to get a nerf or buff, in the end, it’s still made to stun the target. When I got that skill, I didn’t even expect it to do as much damage as it did, and I love it for it.

Are you new to mmorpgs or what ?
Because rerollings was a things since the birth of mmorpgs, no even since the birth of western rpgs!

Or are you just complaining because you’re a child who can’t assume his mistakes by not taking 30 mins or 1 hour of his life to Google search or use a skill simulator ?

Also, you’re not forced to buy that reset skills potion at all. Learn from your mistakes and do better, that’s how life is.
