Why does IMC makes DEX look more and more as worthless stat?

STR (Strength)

  • Increases min physical attack by 1 / Increases min physical attack by 1,3 for Swordsman class. - on kToS for now
  • Increases max physical attack by 1 / Increases max physical attack by 1,3 for Swordsman class. - on kToS for now
  • Increases critical attack by 1.
  • Increases weight limit by 5.
  • Increase block penetration by 1. / Swordsman class get even more block penetration (1 STR gives 1.2 block penetration) - on kToS for now

Note: For every additional class rank, you receive a bonus of 10% STR.

FULL STR build can deal with FULL CON builds now in PvP since you deal more damage and also penetrate block (that CON increase). The only reason to get DEX is to hit archers

VS

DEX (Dexterity)

Increases accuracy by 1.
Increases critical hit chance by 1.
Increases evasion by 1.

Note: DEX bonuses only affect physical attacks, as magic attacks can’t miss, can’t crit and can’t be dodged.

critical chance is easily reduced by high amount of CON stat since it gives critical hit resistance. Also by going DEX oriented build you are lowering your damage output even harder. Less STR mean that you will get not only less damage but also less CRITICAL DAMAGE

For Swordsman class: new Concentration skill buff that was implemented today on kToS even more force PURE STR or HIGH STR build since Concentration scale much better with STR than with DEX. HIGH DEX Swordsman builds will deal even LESS DAMAGE compared to HIGH STR build now thanks to this change.

Does IMC even plans to buff DEX? Why DEX don’t give something like armor penetration or something like penetration of “critical hit resistance”? Why we can’t dodge magic attacks? Make DEX increase min/max physical attack by 0,5 at least?

STR won’t be that great with saalus blessings. lv10 = +550% weapon atk.

But yeah, you will need years of daily saalus grind for it. Literally.

Dex is hard to put faith in.

Those +90% to your existing crit. rate require positioning and 3 circles in a bad R5 class, which is used for faint+barrage and capturing traps.

Somewhere here.

Thanks for the correction. Point remains that theyre also giving extra ability to crit. Except unlike transcendence Crit caps at 100% chance. Rather avoid Dex expenditures in the case of further upsets.

Look at the critical rate formula. Critical attack is a stat that is unusable on a regular basis for non finestra swordsman.

Because it divides by your level, as you level higher and higher points into dexterity gets divided by a large number. This reduces each individual dex points contribution for getting a crit hit. The result you want is a critical hit, 100 dex at level 10 is a lot different then 100 dex at say level 250. Instead of being rewarded for grinding over a hundred million exp, the end game str swordsman is punished and handicapped.

Use algebra, substitute x variable to find a critical hit rate you’d think will help make a swordsman unlock their critical attack and have less problems with damage vs monsters with crazy hp totals.

Chance for critical hit=(crit rate-crit resist)(42/level)

Hypothetical full dex lv 600 swordie will have near 1000 crit. rate.
1000*(42/600)=70%
(1000-120)*(42/600)=61,6%

Hypothetical full dex lv 600 archer will have near 1100 crit. rate.
1100*(42/600)=77%
(1100-120)*(42/600)=68,6%

They will need buffs/equip to qet near 100% crit.

Also when you invest points in DEX to keep the same %crit while leveling, you increase your average DPS from crits, because your base damage before 1.5 crit. multiplier will increase with STR / level / better weapon.

what do u want dex for ? evasion? so basically the downgrade version of block with full con

without the bonus of getting extra hp which helps vs magic mobs

What do you mean “worthless”? Full DEX + Kneeling Shot + Running Shot + Musketeer’s Musket + Leather Mastery + Leather Equipments + Swift Step = OP as hell. Sure, go STR, you’ll enjoy your first few minutes of your character by “easier grinding” and suffer next. Blessed all of those with High DEX, pretty sure they’re enjoying their characters at the end after their hardwork at grinding. No pain, no gain, dude.

Then a swordie with accuracy gloves and gems lands a single hit on you with that 40% hit chance they have and you’re dead.

Lmao, if PvP, Full/High CON is a must. It’s another story.
