Too much plot ToS
I pretty much came here to relieve my Overlord dreams(not the op part though lmao) and the fact I’ve been wanting to get into a game with a better-than average friendly community. My main game closed down years ago(RIP SDGO) and I’ve been playing DOTA 2 ever since.
I am looking forward to a change of scenary- that is ToS.
I came cause I heard and saw it was a more actionbased Ragnarok Online and wanted to see how it is to play that kind of game in it’s prime, I expect disappointment, hope for enlightment
EDIT: I might be looking forward to the NPC boo… art. Yes, art
I am here for all the gorgeous dresses
Everything is so shineeeeyyyy
And for the music and the nostalgia.
I’m here because this game speaks to my adolescent years. Although I never put any time into RO, I surely played the ever living hell out of Final Fantasy Tactics. The art style for the characters speaks to that, and the world art and monsters remind me of Secret of Mana/Legend of Mana games.
The music also is well produced, I have probably listened to the full soundtrack about 6 times in the last 2 weeks, which I haven’t done that with a game since Yasunori Mitsuda.
To add to that, I’m a huge dungeon crawler fan but currently I’m burned out on most of the games I’ve played, I want something new to explore and have adventures in with a few other of my friends.
I missed all the betas and I don’t feel like getting into and then slipping out of an english patched Korean version, so I intend on patiently waiting for the day the game drops.
People sound turned off by the subscription style features in the Korean version, but those features are typically toned down slightly for players outside of the asian market. As long as this game doesn’t bog us down with fatigue points, and the subscription tokens remove the bog downs that free players would experience, I’m buckling in for a long ride!
loved RO, want to be part of a casual guild and have fun. I like playing lightly and having fun and I could use some new friends.
initially because i liked RO and hoped for it to be like RO
now i realize it’s a completely different game and enjoy it mostly because it supports gamepads and is addicting
TOS makes me feel a new passion for its world, yet similiar as the one i felt with RO
I have never played Ragnarok Online. I actually am coming from RuneScape after 10 long years. I grew up with that game. Precious memories.
With that said, I heard about Tree of Savior after watching a “Most Anticipated MMOs” kind of video and frankly, the first time I saw it, I fell in love with the way it looks. There’s just something charming about the artstyle. It’s simple yet elegant, intricate without feeling cluttered & it’s very unique. The artists must have have worked so hard on this.
As I started to learn more & more about the game, the very detailed class system & how every single class (and the entire story) is inspired by various cultures ans folklore from all around the world (which taught me a lot), it began to dawn on me that this is was something special. It’s clear that the devs have put their hearts into this.
It’s not just that, it’s the entire package. The way the UI looks, the sounds it makes when you hover over an item, the incredible unique OST, the animations…all of it.
Perhaps what I’m excited for most of all, is the community. People socialize, they talk, they engage with each other. I felt so incredibly isolated in other MMOs. Nobody seemed to every talk, just following the treadmill, each in their own little bubble.
I’m not playing an MMO to feel like I’m in a single-player RPG.
Tree of Savior shares little similarities with RuneScape but it’s the first MMO in a very long time that felt like “Home”.
What do I expect? To have fun.
I’m excited to see where ToS goes in the future.
mostly same like everyone else.
since i grew up in the RO era, 2003-2008, played for a good 5 years before i went for WoW in 2008.
i have always loved my experience in RO, and i always wish there would be another game that is in a way similar to RO and it’s community,
ToS might be the one. ( i know it’s totally a different game, but it has the similarity graphics and all that which is a nostalgic for me )
Pretty sure RO was my first MMO back in 2003. Love soundtemp and the sprite-based art style. This is like the true sequel.
I was so disappointed with GW2 for that. D: I already bought your game, Arena, don’t make me buy such an expensive expansion! >:0 I was really looking forward to that daredevil class, too. ;__;
Here’s hoping nothing happens to you here.
ToS reminds me of good Nintendo RPG’s, that’s why.
I’m looking for a group of good, solid, fun people to play a game with. ToS looks to fit what I love in games - now I just need to get connected to the right people playing to make coming back day after day enjoyable no matter how much grind there is.
