Who actually reads all the dialogues?

I’ve been an rpg player since I was 7 years old on consoles back in the 90’s. I always read dialogues and storylines but for some reason this game I haven’t read a single dialogue. Did anyone actually follow up the story? I can’t find any info on the storyline on google. Someone would like to share?

Ok go.

You came from an unknown land before lempresa pond or west saulai woods to save the good goddesses and kill the bad goddess. Pretty much it… past 260 maps i dont know… i cant solo map beyond that…

I usually rape my spacebar when talking with a Quest NPC so no idea

If you like reading then you’re easily drawn in by an engaging story presentation. The story in ToS is nothing special, despite its dark, depressing tones. All the Revelation arcs are you having to kill a big demon lord to get the revelation. I forgot his name, but the demon prison Revelation is perhaps the only one with a couple interesting characters.

I admit, the story got a bit interesting in the Petrification Frost arc, but like every other quest arc, it never satisfies.

I actually read the quest dialogue, especially if it’s my first time going through an area.

So far, there’s somewhat interesting tidbits that are told by the npcs or the quests themselves relating to the lore and events that happened in the past(up until Kalejimas and Maven Abbey, haven’t done much of the 280+ area) but as @aforsakenbird said, it never really satisfies you or it just ends abruptly. Personally was interested in the whole Ruklys-Lydia Schaffer relationship/story and his apparent rebellion against King Kadumel.

On a completely unrelated note, there’s a Final Fantasy reference in the game. Only found one, though, and it’s more of a tradition of a reference.

Me i read most of the quest dialogues especially if it is my first time doing it. that’s why i’m slow to level most of the time. not that i fully understand the story tho.

but lately i got caught up with the tree of dailies and all the bugs that come along with it so i am not updated anymore.

for me the stories so far had been pretty interesting, specially the necklace of the five sins…

maybe ask greyheim for the latest info on the lore…

I do =P there’s a lot of hidden stuff in the story, it’s has a extremely depth to it, It’s more than just “rescue the goddess”. xD

So this is one kingdom or multiple? And why is the stupid goddess held prisoner by a devil girl? Why is she so useless?

im the one reading on all dialog and i have to tell you that im feeling creepy (in the good way) about the story.

idk, following the goddess’s guide without prooving her innocent seem fishy to me.

I raped spacebar, but then I figured it’s better to just press Esc once, since it skips to the end of dialogue (where you can accept quest etc.) :hugging:

some main quests stories are quite nice, and well presented, others are super dull. I read all main quests story lines once.

I read all if I can the first time and take screenshot of what interest me…

I HATE when an npc says something in a bubble and it disappear before I can read it and the same with red text on screen…

“you must…” what, wanted to read the rest, well :middle_finger:

I love the concept story of Demon Lord Hauberk and how he gets his soul split and each part has it own personality and how he is trying to put himself together…

also the forum already has many threads with Lore and the News section now has lore too that I have also read :3

if I like something, am all over it…

Why did we help Demon Lord Hauberk in the first place and why did he betray us and is he the same Hauberk as the one in Sutatis Trade Route?

Lol! Someone does notice! I thought I was the only one who felt sorry for Hauberk!

Many of the story line/text felt like a bad transition, or it was either intended. I just feel sorry for the inconsistency of most of the story line.

Not quite sure, I mean we did release parts of his soul from imprisonment in Mage Tower. I would assume that the Hauberk that we meet in front of Demon Prison would be the same Hauberk from Mage Tower, since the person that he possessed at that time was a mage and the personality of that particular Hauberk doesn’t quite match one you meet at Sutatis. Unless both of those spirits got reunited, of course.

But, on that point, he would definitely recognize you as the one that helped him. Then again, he might’ve just pretended to not know you, as to fool you into helping him once more.

As for why we’d help a demon lord, well, the first time that we’d encounter him(basing from where the area’s located and technically it is the earliest time that we would meet him), he’s trying to save the life of the pilgrim that he possessed. So, us being the good natured Revelator, decides to assist him. Plus, hearing about him not wanting to be evil and just wanting to be left alone tugs at our Revelator heartstrings(I assume).

You use his soul piece to close the rift open in demon prison to the other world. It’s not so much as him betraying you as you as the protagonist betraying his trust because of that. That’s why he turns because once you speak with the goddess she reveals the plot to do this and he gets angry because the demons just want to escape. He wasn’t exactly a bad guy though that specific soul piece was negative. There’s something out in Sutatis Trade Route that explains about the negative soul piece going missing and everything if you look.

we help him cause he asked nicely (our character isn’t the smartest cookie on the jar, just have a body count :|) and yes…

same demon lord. but different soul fragment…

you should read the notes on that route…

EDIT: @ophiuchu he was a savage and manipulative demon, the worst of the worst…

but when he got divided, all that evil got stuck separated from him with his memory… I find it sad that we betray one of his good sides instead of the evil part of his soul…

I like reading the notes and books because it gives a bit more of the lore of the area I’m exploring.

and we get nothing :pensive:
