Where is the archer rework?

fletcher and ranger are outdated classes that date back to the old combat system

barrage used to be THE skill and spiral arrow would terrorize people in pvp, back when the number of hits a skill had was more important than the base dmg
fletcher also used to be the 1# dmg class in the game. people would complain about how magic arrow was broken and how they wanted to quit due to it

the point is, the game changed, but the mechanics weren’t updated

pyro is a good example of a class that used to be good in the old “hit as many times as you can” game design, that became a trash class, and now is an ok class

I really hope they revisit archer after mages/swords.

Most mages are hitting cap damage with +6 purple staves because of linker new debuff. I don’t think thats right and they probably gonna nerf, cause its on ktest still. However, archer tree is still very limited on combinations, and most classes are only worth because of 1-2 skills max.

You cant compare wiz with cls like Archer/swordman.

Magic cls are made to be superior in this game in every way.

Archer really weak on PvP and PvE, wizard and clerics have ton of useful skills for pvp and pve…

And swordman pvp worse than archer…

I’ve mained an acher since day 1 and I don’t think the class is weak per se, it’s just that they made clerics too strong. And blocking man, blocking is ridiculous in this game. No single tree should have damage AND heal AND retardedly high HP AND buffs AND debuffs AND block AND immunity AND rez. Like, you go to TBL and you have to fight those full CON clerics, and you have to deal 100k+ damage while bypassing block and immunities AND you have to do this before he heals himself and before he kills you, except you can’t avoid any of his attacks while he can just stand there and nullify yours, and you don’t have heal and you also can’t go full CON so your HP isn’t nearly as high as his. This is what needs fixing IMO.

The first thing I’d change is the way blocking works. Maybe limmit the number of classes that can equip shields, or put a 20% hard cap on block rate for anyone who ins’t a pelasta/rodelero/murmillo. Or better yet change the effect of block from nullification to just damage reduction. And for the love of God CON (or any stat for that matter) should NEVER increase HP and block rate at the same time, this is beyond stupid.

Next I’d change the way immunities work. Like, I understand why things like this exist, otherwise archers would just murder everybody from half the screen away in pvp. But at the same time no one should be able to just use one buff/immunity and say “■■■■ you, roll out of archer”. I don’t even know how I’d fix this but the very least I’d add a visual cue so you don’t waste your cooldowns when they have shields up. I’d also lower the duration and increase the cooldowns of all immunity type buffs.

Also, make Leather great again. Leather used to give you some survivability because of evasion, but it’s just plain useless now after the rework. You get the worst def stats out of Plate and Cloth with nothing show for it. Either give us back the crazy high evasion or give us a high enough crit rate buff that makes up for the low def, so at least you are a glass cannon.

There are a few more things that bother me in this game but just these changes would make archers much more viable IMO.

Right now there are just too many things to consider when building an Archer, it’s deterring many players from coming back or playing this class. You need to have enough evasion, block pen, accuracy, hp, just enough mdef and pdef to not get one shot by other players. In a random tbl match up you face different opponents with different builds, not having the right mix and amount of stats mentioned above means you are immediately handicapped. If you focus too much on a particular stat, it means you sacrifice another and your overall build is lob sided. Life is certainly tough as an Archer in this game.

İ have 820 Dex 140 Str but i never pass full con cleric/wiz’s block rate…Now they got 3x block from shields :slight_smile: THİS İS SHİAATTT

I believe 820 dex should get you at least 550 block pen? Surely you can hit some of them.

With autos yea i can hit some , i speak about my burst skills…

375 Con about 355 block, with con stuff (800+con easly to get) and shield (with xx blue gem) think about again :slight_smile:

i have about 550 bockpen with about 300 dex+equip and still hit 50/50 on fullcon guys. I think ur doing something wrong :whitepopo:

You probably never met real full con guys. I have about 500 block pen (over 300dex too) and I never hit these guys, like 60-70% blocked. Try to kill a man that block 70% of you hit multi hit attack or big burst (fencer here), has over 100k hp (can reach 300-400k with kabba3) and full heal everytime if you dont os or cc him forever. Not even mentioning that these guy can also deal dmg (sometimes even more than you do).

There are to many ways to get Block.
Blue gems in Shield x3/Con+ Random stats on gear.

The only way to get Block pen is dex or 1 gem in the Gauntlets.

Beside that if hes a full Con magic user he will hit you with every hit.

As Physical cls you need Dex/Str to even hit the enemy >,>

You can get it from random stats on gear too

You gain absolutely zero out of critical hits cause either you don’t crit in first place or the hit gets blocked/dodged. Not to mention that most Skill% are so high that they don’t need to crit anyway.

Going full dex to get through block turns you into a super squishy target (and it’s likely not enough cause of the mentioned Gems). Meanwhile a Cleric/Wiz can run around as HP Monster while doing damage that is unavoidable by default.

IMC really need to implement magic evasion, and add accuracy stat to int as well.
it’s bs that magic caster can’t miss their magic.

pretty much kill archer as an evasion class.

Maybe up your critrate?
I get critted plenty in pvp if the hits go through

I dont think anyone would say no to doing 1.5x more damage
