Whatever. Picking that stupid looking Betty Boop-like artwork as one of the winners.
Jealousy much ?

i understand how you feel but mr.necromage, this is public event which mean everyone has right to join
even if your favorite artist isnt win but you still can use their art as personal loading screen by replace number with other file in /loadingimg folder
FA contest supposed to be the funny event.
as long as they determinate the cheater. so it will be fine for me
ps. i would like to ask the staff to reduce reward and add some punishment rule (ex. their name turn to red until next contest or rise market tax. etc.)
but this is just my personal requests. otherwise we will see those cheater try everything in every contest. just for 500tp and goddess reward
most of winner providing a good content for community, if you doesnt let them join ToS loading screen will be filled with crap and fking garbage in a few next event
those artist probably train their ass of to create such a quality content
hard work/talent=>win if you said it is unfair then you have a nice idiotic brain there, its not like theyâre creating good artwork in their first try, and im talking about the one that win by voting, staff pick sometime questionable e.g summer solstice, that ripped omyoji, etc also cheating in this contest can make you win (if youâre exposed), e.g that Y&N plagiarism entry or that silute entry with highest vote.
if you want to win train your fkin ass off and make a good content, you cant be bitter with your current entry quality its not even fcking close compared to most of the winner, train more, complain less
Itâs valid to feel frustration but donât blame the other artists. The staff picks can be questionable but theyâre not professional judges and I do get the impression that they pick based on what pops out for them. I remember always joking about how Staff Ethan only picked chibi works with my former guild mates awhile back, there was some frustration there but I canât help it if he really liked chibis.
Anyway yeah, use that frustration to fuel your drive to get better. I do hope IMC can make participating more enjoyable for everyone though, during and after the contest.
agree, its about taste, we cant blame staff chosing, every people have their own feeetish :v
edit : git gut scrub
Think about how unfair it would be for them too. Why would you bar them from joining the next contest just because theyâve already won? If IMC prevents them from joining, then the quality of the submissions would likely decrease because the pool of artists would be less.
Everybody who submits their work are given a chance to win. The only difference is how you, the artist, are able to pull in the viewer towards your work. If you didnât win this time, then maybe you have to think of better concepts and try different techniques to be able to capture the viewers.
The next fan art contest is probably this Christmas, so you can make use of this time to compose an image that would be perfect for then.
It would be unfair if the best works didnât win. Losing should motivate you to work harder, but I guess this generation is so used to getting participation awards.
If you care about your craft, you shouldnât care if you win or lose and simply enjoy doing it.
Yes. I am jealous. I do admit that.
Iâm not joining on the bandwagon here⊠Itâs not the olympics or somethingâŠItâs a game made for entertaining⊠and this contest here is same as an event and feeling excluded in a repeating event with actually great rewards in a game is not fun imo⊠It would make sense to not reward the same ppl again and again but it could be solved in other ways tooâŠ
We have user votes but what does it help? Ppl with lots of friends/big guilds will still win most of the votes too. So why arenât there some randomly chosen arts too?
Is it necessary for you to say âassâ?
Itâs not a contest of quality and never was - Itâs a contest of popularity (hello people begging for votes everywhere). I think itâs completely plausible to make the winners (vote pick) of the current contest not compete in the next one to give opportunity to other artists, just so the winners donât win in a row. Thereâs a lot of good art on the run, so we will not be only with the âleftoversâ to say so. Some people that win the fan art contest are professional artists, but most people competing are not, so they really get demotivated because they will never have a feasible chance unless a staff pick them. To summarize, IMO, it wouldnât hurt anyone if a winner could not win contests consecutively.
I actually think now that there could be categories⊠like beginner/advanced/master or just 2⊠Iâm just not sure who would decide who goes into what category⊠I think maybe the artist itself in the first place then the judges could put you in a higher one if they think it fits there more⊠and also there should be at least 1 random choice from each category too imo.
âŠor something like that but it would be better to make an event more accessible to everyone imoâŠ
try to be better, less complaining.
Calm down a little. I never said that people that win are all beggars, most of people win due the quality of their work and popularity of his/her style (like it was said, some prefer chibi), itâs their merit, they mostly deserve it. What I am saying is a way to make the contest more diverse, so more people can win. For example, if a person win this contest, he will not be able to enter the next one, but after that, he could enter normally if he wants.
If artists are so altruistic as you said, it would cost nothing to let other people celebrate a winning one time or another.
It should be an incentive for people to practice more and become better artists imo. We already have the staff picks to balance the âpopularityâ vote.
There are actual examples of this in our world, though. For example the âOlympic gamesâ where men and women are separated to give the women a chance to win gold even if their abilities are subpar to mens, so they normally would never win a contest, and even disabled people have their own contests to be able to win.
The U.S. even lowered some test standards for certain ethnic minorities so they can get into government work at a certain quota.
So obviously there are some âideologiesâ who want to tell people that they are all equal and all equally âgiftedâ and able to do certain things.
What I donât think is fair is the fact that IMC offers such generous rewards to artistic people who just put up some loading screen artworks that are not seen that often (and best yet, not long, otherwise people get bored if the game takes forever to load), yet e.g. the rewards for active community work [e.g. writing guides, testing ingame content, reporting bugs& bots, etc.] are barely worth mentioning at all[ that is if you get one at all; sometimes you donât even receive a thank you from the staff].
Just look at the recent Equipment guide event.
Itâs as if IMC either thinks that we are all equally gifted in arts and thus all have the chance to win the several 100 TP they give out as prizes, or they are ridiculing the community work besides the loading screen eventâŠ
This is the point people should be angry&salty about. The artistic people get recognized for something that provides ± nothing to the game, and active community work nets you nothing at all.
But the Olympics donât ban an athlete that won on the previous one to participate again, per your example they should be banned to participate again to give a chance to the other.

I agree that would be good to give better prizes to guides however loading screens (good ones) serve as promotion tools to bring others to the game, fan art helps the game to trend on different platforms so itâs a good tool to get users. It serves the community on a different way.
âGoodâ art, however you choose to subjectively define it, takes a lot more time and effort to create than even the most detailed guide. I donât particularly mind that they get better rewards.
I will admit that I liked 3 entries out of the⊠73? Thatâs an opinion on my part. You donât have to like it. I do, however, expect you to respect it.
It reminds me of an argument I saw on deviantART.
Person 1: âI liked your stuff, why didnât you like mine?â
Person 2: âBecause I donât actually like your stuffâ
1: âBut youâre supposed to like mine, thatâs what people on deviantART doâ
2: â???â
So at this point, you either wallow in selfpity, or try and get better.
I never said that you need to get rewards at the same level, but the difference is like worlds, and you cannot expect for everyone to buy the necessary tools and start on working in their free time to learn how to draw just to be able to compete.
I want people to respect that everyone is different, with different strengths and weaknesses.
Some people here are at a clear advantage. Thatâs all fine with me. Whatâs strange is that aside from this, there is little you can do for TOS to be rewarded.
You could make a great campaign in social networks to increase the influx of players and still get nothing.
You can write an in-depth guide and still get nothing.
You can hunt bots, report bugs, make detailed gameplay feedbacks, stream the game and still get nothing.
Itâs very strange that only your graphic skill can earn you something.
Itâs just a logic way of thought by the way, not my opinion.
I personally am neither salty, nor do I care about any fanart (I just replace them with professional artwork by Maggi every time we get new artworks).
I just wanted to provide an eligible claim people can discuss about if they want to be salty/angry about, not the fact that their entry didnât win a single TP and/or title.
