i dont know but i think that the centurion is the best tank and all ppl will need one.
Centurion got some pretty interesting skills but if you’re plan on farming, assuming killing the mobs isn’t a problem, a chronomancer doppelsoldner combo could multiply the loot.
I think the Crowd Control used by a Psycokino can be really useful for combos and making the monsters stay in the range of the strong abilities; the Linker also has some skills that can be used for the same purpose.
Any class with skills oriented to aoe damage could be paired with the ones Psyco or the Linker. Personally I would prefer someone from the Cleric branch in order to also give some heals.
But I also think that they will need a tank like the centurion in order to have an easy time vs many mobs and principally some Bosses. I think the Centurion with Peltasta skills can put a good amount of defense.
In conclusion I like: Psycokino + Bokor (the one that zombifies) + Centurion (if needed).
How important do you think tanks will be in ToS?
Honestly it’s a bit soon to really know but it seems like you don’t really need them =x
I guess my vote would be for a big area dps class, like elementalist? Or that archer that specializes in taking on mobs (forget the job) and a class to buff/heal them like a cleric1 that went through buff classes for 2&3 at least.
Its way too early to say and I’d say its very dungeon dependent. There will be a dungeon where fire is better, ice is better, more dps is better, more support is better, etc.
Chronomancer seems pretty good for farming in general since they can turn back time and essentially revive monsters.
IMO tanks are not badly needed in ToS. A tank with aggro control like Peltasta is desired for faster mobs luring, but other than that I don’t see any better reason to require a tank in party. A party consists of only DPS can kill bosses just fine if they manage to dodge the bosses’ attack and stay alive.
I think Oracle would be a good addition to a farming party. Despite the very large cooldowns, they have skills that can summon monsters, see what item they will drop, and even change what items they will drop.
I like to think tanks will be important in cbt3, when they make stronger monsters/bosses
About aoe farm… I guess every mage class until now is good at this… except thaumathurge and alchemist
I think so too.
Tanks seem rather useless.
I have seen everyone just run through monsters and bosses alike at lvl200+ with or without tank.
The enemies won’t even hit you anyway. The only time someone will ever hit you in this game, as it seems atm, is during Boss fights when you accidentally run into one of the invisible traps that the bosses at higher levels spawn (which they hopefully are going to remove in exchange for something like a unique enrage-mode for each boss).
And in that scenario a tank won’t save you either. A healer on the other hand can.
You could of course use a Centurion formation, but what for? I imagine it being much more time-costly to farm with a Centurion rather than just taking a cleric-type or another DD into your party to speed up the farming.
Centurion seems well-suited for botting though…
A party formation I could see myself seeking is: Barbarian/Doppelsöldner+Krivis/Paladin+Schwarzer Reiter
Massive buffs from steroids + Krivis buffs and then you just bash away with your AoEs at enemy mobs. And if you ever run out of mana, who cares? The 2 DPS classes can still bash the mobs away like nothing with their AAs while the Krivis mainly keeps the buffs up.
Oracle and Chronomancer
Oracle can see the “ITEM DROP/s” of the monster.
Chronomancer can turn back time from few secs ago.
Basically after you killed a boss you can turn back time using the Chronomancers skill and kill it the second time around and that will change the loots. Oracle can see the POSSIBLE Drop of the monster.
More chances of getting that loot if you’re hunting equips or items.
they should fix this
its not fair
dafuq you talking about boy?!!!
They are fixing this. Mobs will certainly be more agile and agressive. And the boss AI was just a placeholder, the real thing is coming.
Can you link me where they said that please.
This is not good sign. I really hope they dont mean that they cannot make monster faster.
Q) It seems that the speed of the battles is somewhat slow. Do you have future plans to make them little faster?
A) In present MMO games, the servers calculate and share everything so with that underlying constraint present, we actually maximized the speed of the battles in the game. You may feel like that since TOS servers should allow the inputs whenever you attack. Please understand it as a characteristic of the genre.
Seems to me they were talking about characters’ speed. We want faster monsters’ and bosses’ speed
Got the source?
That would certainly be good news.
Yeah u might be right. It seems they are talking about fighting speed of Character. At least I hope so.
@kill5link @Aries
It seems what i read was before CBT2
Q) Why are boss monsters so easy?
A) There were two problems. First, we misadjusted the game’s
difficulty levels. We were trying to make the game easy in the
beginning phase so that more people could adopt the game quickly and
meet harder bosses as they progress through the game. However, lots of
testers adopted the game pretty sooner than we had initially expected.
The other problem was that many of the bosses’ patterns were not
functioning as we designed during CBT1. We found the underlying causes
for those malfunctions and fixed them so the bosses will be different in
CBT2. Also, during CBT1, boss monsters telegraphed the locations where
they will attack in advance, but this function will gradually disappear
as players progress in the game and only Oracle (the class which
foresees the future) will be able to see where monsters will attack.
In this post CBT2 link: https://www.reddit.com/r/treeofsavior/comments/387kc2/full_ftg_interview/crt8whr
they talk about nerfing debuffs on bosses. As for the AI, i am sure i read somewhere they would improve it. Maybe it was just a comment and no official statement.
