What pvp modes you think this game needs

Devilian has a “moba” pvp mode, works and it’s funny (team vs team, map with minimap and towers).
DragonSaga has a cool and epic defense tower mode (called F7), and is fun as hell.

Every fun component for a game It is something worth to devote resources.

And moba game/game-mode It is fun for most people. So, the reason to no devote resources isn’t acceptation, is priority in other things.

But lans1234567890’s proposal is 100% logical.

Dont be hard on them, they just cant understand that a pcp mode will not change the game to be a moba game.they think moba mode for pvp will make this game lol or somthing.

Devillian is a game where you reach max level in 2 days. We are speaking about COMPLETLY different games, it has no hardcore dedicated community like ToS.

It’s not like 5-10 people here dont like mobas, it’s more like that there is no potential what so ever. If you want to play moba’s, go and play moba’s not ToS.

A moba is just too much of work, especially now where the game isn’t even done, lets not even talk about not existing PvP modes. There’s not even WoE or alike announced and that is whazt this community actually wants, a competetive PvP that actually matters. No serious developer will put any kind of recourse in this kind of childrens playground, just because it’s wasted money and time.

Because the development priorities right now are nowhere near PvP and it’ll take a long time for that to come by.
And considering the what the devs want to make GvG will be a priority to begin with and poeple openly want it, they already showed in the trialer a PvPvBoss in the trailer and everything iirc.
This kind of modes are easy to balance as they are designed as a showdown of the strenght of each guild, how they play togueter, how they built their characters and all that, this is the reason everyone loves WoE, it’s the ultimate testament to how good you are at the game and it’s made to be so

MOBAs ‘‘work’’ because due to the fact that you begin for 0 (or close) it’s easy to see when something is too strong and balance accordingly, which takes resources.
They are not meant as a showdown of sheer strenght, but of planing beforehand and doing so consistenly.

ToSs class design simply doesn’t allow for a proper enviroment for this kind of gameplay in general, comparing ToS to other MMOs out there is simply not a good option due to how diferent the system works and I’m sure IMC is aware of this, they are making a MOBA themselves and everything.

Devillian is an mmorpg just like tos. you say this game is hardcore because now day grinding makes games hardcore ?i didnt see nothing really hard in this game so far. a lot of fun things but nothing hard.

WoE is good but its not pvp.

yes not all build will work on a moba pvp just like not all the build work at the pvp we have at the moment. hell not all builds work in pve.
devilian is just an example and a good one.
dragon next is a good example as well.yuo have more that 4 classes there and you have builds.
but hey the developers must be crazy in this games that will fail fast. don’t they?

Emm, if classes are well balanced for standard pvp modes, why they aren’t for a moba mode?

nobody here has said it is a priority, and the devilian example is perfect.
No matter at all if devilian has 4 or 50 classes. The balance is needed for the other pvp modes.

If classes are balanced and works well in pvp (2vs2 3vs3 etc), works well in 5vs5 with minions and/or tower.

And no, a moba is a game freaking easy to make. The hard point is the balance, and the balance is needed anyway.

they just hate moba games as they have no skills for it.

A class is what a character’s power and skills are based on. There
are eight beginning classes: Archer, Sorceress, Warrior, Cleric, Assassin, Tinkerer (also known as Academic), Kali, and Lencea. Each of these beginning classes split into further secondary classes and tertiary classes.

Warriors are well balanced melee combat specialists.
Magicians use long distance magic spells with various effects.
Archers are long distance combat masters who use hit and run strategy.
Thief a master of rapid short range combat.
Choosing a class is a very important step which requires extra consideration.
On character creation, a Base Class is selected out of four human and two Dragonkin options.
Each base class can be advanced to two different second tier class which have unique characteristics and skills via 1st class promotion. [See chart below] The character may then change jobs at levels 20, 40, and 60.
The 1st Class Job Change is special, as the human classes are given two options. Once a class is picked, this choice cannot be changed.

When creating your character, you must choose one of the four archetypes: Archer, Cleric, Swordsman and Wizard.
As you progress, you’ll be able to unlock, mix and match more classes from their respective archetype. Each class possesses 3 circles. A circle is a progression step, unlocking more and stronger skills for a given class.
While ranking up, you can either pick a new class or improve your existing class(es)’ circle.

Gee I wonder which game has the more complex system and thus harder to balance game.

There is no need for an “extra balance”.

We aren’t talking about an item shop or something crazy for the moba gamemode.
Just the classes as they are with towers and (maybe) minions.

you do understand that they will need to make the classes balance here as well for the game to work in the long run do you.if you hate pvp its ok, some people like it.

Because I know how this game works and a ‘‘MOBA like’’ mode in this game would end being a shitshow no one is going to play because GvG is a better experience unless you are a loner without a guild.

I’ll admit it, PvP is not the main appeal for me in MMOs, I play fighting games for that as they are way better at it, but WoE is better than any joke of MOBA mode anyways and I’m sure IMC knows at this point that their audience wwants that far more due to the nature of the event.

If your character can’t survive in a PvP environment, don’t PvP with it. There is a certain amount of balance that can be created by ‘this is a PvX focused character, I should make an alt for that other, super different game mode.’

Heck, we basically have non-PvE characters in the form of merchant classes. Why is say, going QS3-scout-rogue for PvP over PvE any different?

If I were making a moba mode, I’d probably forcibly tweak characters in matches. Like, maybe you’re restricted to skills from your first four circles, and equipment is rebalanced to ilevel 120?

Naw doesnt need a new thread. Honestly PVE has to come first before PVP and its better they get the PVE done right first and completely flesh it all out before doing any concrete, yet serious and not mindless work on the PVP scene.

most players here are not here for Dota or LoL they are here for a Nostalgia trip for Ragnarok Online. If they want moba they will play Dota and LoL.

Which is why players here are yearning for a guild war like WoE of Ragnarok. But from how I see IMC design based on IMC 1st mmo Granado Espada. IMC will most likely make a Faction lore based war instead as their Mass PvP feature.

Like seriously, I get a MOBA mode would be fun and everything, but don’t you want something different? Something NEW? Do you really think every game should have a 3 lane mode? Use your imagination, you could’ve copypasted LoL and call it a day.

You state: “Please be patient and dont hate on modes you for some reason dont like. explain why you think a mode is good or bad”.
I think you should practice what you preach, people are explaining patiently why they don’t agree with the MOBA idea and you just prefer to make your topic (which was a good idea in the first place) about MOBA, you should change the title tbh “Do you think ToS should have a MOBA game mode?” LOL

As others I’m craving a GvG mode, if it would be RO inspired I would LIVE. However I have no idea what IMC is panning, hope they bring some new concepts to the table.
