What other archer jobs synergizes with Sapper traps well?

Who has experience with the sapper class past rank 5?

Currently im a Archer 1 -> Ranger 1 -> Sapper 1 -> Sapper 2

Currently i’m leaning towards fletcher or wugushi, but really unsure where to take my char for rank 5, but i feel like sapper 3 isnt really worth it tho.

IMO this is what traps works well for me so far with ranger C1 skills, ranked -

Broom trap - best sapper skill hands down because of very large aoe and with barrage, i aggro them in, place 2 stock stockades in a row next to broom trap, then just walk the monsters into my traps. barrage/multi shot killing whats left. It has a long CD but thats why im thinking on going with a skill based class like Fletcher or Cannoneer.

Stock Stackades - No mat cost and has 2 charges, kiting monsters into them is easy, just use barrage and start kiting

Denonate Traps - Again no mat cost and blowing up your enemies magic circles is useful but dont blow up your own traps.

Claymore - i like the dmg but without a linker or aggro skill, you need to set up this skill to be really useful, it’s situational, and cost 300 silver each time, this skill also hits flying monsters too but so does my ranger skills.

idk about punji or conceal other than punji takes so got damn long to set up and if one monster steps on it… its used up already.

I really like the idea of setting up traps and having my skills as back up when broom trap is in CD.

I went with a all dex build but i do still have my stat reset potion if i decide to go wugushi since poison doesnt crit i dont think.

Rogue!

You can capture your own traps and reposition them with Capture.

Does capture reset its active time?
For example, if my broom trap has 4 seconds left and I capture it does it last another 20 seconds?

haha thats my problem can’t decide rogue or fletcher, are you a rogue? if so is what is your build/style like? backshot and karracha set seem like the only way to go rogue.

fletchers 0 CD skills and magic arrow tho seem to be overall really good in any situation… idk man 24hr maintenance is making me really think about which way to go before i job advance.

I can’t say that for sure but I assume that since you are placing a trap, it is considered a new trap, resetting it’s duration.

I would imagine it would be an entirely new trap. One that doesn’t trigger the cooldown of the original trap either. So I assume it’s like having two broom traps. That definitely made me want to go rogue, but I don’t know how you would deal with flying. Claymore not strong enough!

I’m thinking collar bomb, but you’d need to get into melee range to guarantee it hits. for some reason if you dont have excellent ms it can disappear outside of really short range.

however i hear the damage is excellent.

I came up with the same build (ar/ranger/sap2) with the idea of going rogue. you have synergy with feint+ barrage and traps + capture (yes it resets their durations). The weakness with this build is not much good single target burst other than shotgun barrage (maybe your later ranks can fix that) and pretty long cooldowns between capture (3 fkin mins) and broom (40 secs). There’s also not much in terms of sustainable dps in a longer boss fight. Again, maybe your later ranks can fix that

Also you’re really reliant on sneak hit to land crits which is hard if you’re playing solo (or you stack dex, wouldnt reccomend it though because rogue’s sneak hit grants alot of crit) But in a team you can really shine.

Another option is going fletcher3 and you really can’t go wrong with that, the dps magic arrow provides is insane as it’s just sort of “fire and forget” and you have other 0 cd spammable skills while your broom trap is spinning.

Oh and i forgot to add, if you go rogue you can also kinda use stake stockades as a semi “backstab” with sneak hit because it’s instant cast (just remember to jump to cancel the animation)

It’s an entirely new “skill casted”. It has full duration.

Rogue for Capture (Lachy + Broom trap)

Falconer for Circling->Punji on large amount of enemies in the spot. (beware of the massive spike from the resulting gibs though)
