What name will you snipe at Beta/Release?

Hey guys, I feel that one of the biggest hype trains about ToS is that its an MMO that a lot of players will be able to play at first release. Therefore, the potential of giving your character your favorite RPG name is possible!

So I was wondering what y’all are going to name your main/characters in ToS  .

I think we already have a thread about this

Btw, if you say your intended character’s name here, there’s a high chance someone will troll you by creating another account and using that name before you can :unamused:

IIRC when you make an account you have a “Barracks” of characters where all the characters you’ve made all hang out. There was something about them all sharing a last name, so you would be allowed to have repeats of a character’s individual name.

Speaking seriously, in this game you get to pick a “family last name” or “group name” for all your characters (like in Granado Espada). So in the end everyone can pick any name for the characters.

Ugh, you’re so quick. I was 3 seconds away of posting that. Good job!

If I tell you it won’t come true…!

Well I knew the pain of being trolled that way before, so gotta be fast and warn any potential victims lol

WeeabooWarrior15 or maybe XxxPuzzyDestoyer69xXxx. I’m quite fond of these names.

The family name is a bit like Guild Wars 2’s naming system.
Your account name is the deciding factor so everyone can be named the same.
Like ex: AccountName.CharacterName
But in game, they’ll only show the CharacterName and keep the AccountName hidden. So everyone can be named “Sephiroth” if they want to :stuck_out_tongue:

Well I think you have it backwards. The account name is the important one which will be shown while character name is optional and can be hidden

That was obvious in the day I made the topic as i is now.

Not really, both are important, but you’re playing a character not an account.
Lets say you play a really social guy on a character and a total ass/troll on another.
You dont want that reputation tarnishing your social character.
Thats why I named GW2’s system because you can either befriend someone’s character or your friend’s entire account.

Well I don’t know about GW2’s naming system, but in ToS your account name is the important one. So when you say

then it doesn’t apply in ToS. Of course you are playing a character, not an account so there’s no need to hide your name.
Btw, if a Character name is the important one then when someone named “Sephiroth” pm you, you don’t know if that’s your friend or a random troll

Just to clarify on what Pomez was saying, in ToS the barracks / account name is always visible while the first name is able to be hidden (also might be able to be changed [this was a beta feature, but I could see it happening at release for first name only]).

Also yeah, there’s another thread for this.

I will make sure to never use a name that is related to my name on this forum nor any other place on the Internet, so I can still be an ■■■■■■■ here and yet role-play a cute little girl in-game.

Jokes asides, I’ve no clue. Fate/Fayte will probably be involved, but not as a team/lodge/family name.
