What makes you special?

Thank you VermillionTwilight for Elaborating on that because that was also the point I wanted to get at.

I’m not trying to compare ToS beta to Current RO1. RO1 already had a strong foundation with their countless maps, awesome customization, and so forth. It made the player want to get into the game and explore/grind.

Klaipeda is really tiny. It’s almost as if it was quickly by thrown together by a bunch of trainer NPCs. Prontera looked lively, Payon looked lively, etc, and yes it even looked great with iRO launch and only got better because of a strong foundation.

As far as Archers go… They need help… Desperately. Why is twinshot, a C3 skill pretty much on par damage with multishot? Why do Quarrel Shooters have to spend 1 skill point to PICK UP A ROCK. If rangers are supposed to excel in AOE damage, why is Barrrage such a terrible skill? I don’t even want to get started on hunters and scouts.

I agree that RO1 can be more of guidelines, but it’s not that hard to see what was successful about RO1 and take from it, right?

To be very honest, I think one of the big success for RO1, is the BGMs. Almost EVERY SINGLE BGMs of RO is extremely well thought-out and it conveyed so much emotions that it gives me shivers. ToS has yet to deliver such feelings of epicness to me as a person.

Regarding the tiny maps and such, I don’t really think ToS have any much choice. They could’ve make the emotional impact more epic by adding more colors and emotional BGM but if they increased the size of the map, you’ll start to get bored during grinding.

In RO, you are a half giant considering how large you are compare to the screen ratio, so you have no problem walking in big maps and travel from maps to maps by foot.

In ToS, you are exponentially smaller than in RO. There are also jump mechanics and slight sluggish-ness to your movements. If they want to increase the size of the map, I think they have to eliminate the sluggish movements while slightly increased your character’s size and your map perception.

Anyway, I’m yet to be “blown away” by ToS. It’s a good game, but can be better.
