What I don't like about swordsman in party

don’t get me wrong I’m not talking about swordsman in general, some swordsman are really good and a must have in party.
I just don’t like those swordsman (especially if the party does not have cleric) who runs around and dive in the middle of mobs like they are in a hurry. WHY? don’t you see that squishy classes can’t pass the front mobs and dive to the center?

[details=legend:]
blue > swordsman
red > mobs
green > taunt’s area of effect
yellow > squishy party members[/details]

why you gotta dive to the center w/ the swordie when they can taunt them towards themselves so everyone else can attack from the outside

no I don’t dive with them. I just see my party members health going down really fast.

You mean most newbie QS players running around like mindless chickens ignoring my safety zone and dying to a siauliai golem slam

You have range for a reason, you know? Just make use of it.

that’s exactly what I’m doing. like I said I don’t dive with them I just kite the front mobs. but IMO its still hard to kite alone and everyone else is dying in the middle.

why can’t swordsmen taunt the front mobs instead?

@Lostac
the thread is about swordsman and your here posting about QS not caring about your safety zone… wtf?

because this happens whenever a swordsman is actually tanking two bosses at a time namely, poata and mole, then your QS dives in, actually following the pattern in your picture with another yellow in the middle

also i don’t see the problem with swordsman classes doing that, the problem is with OTHER classes following the swordsman, which is why I pointed at QS

Coz you can taunt a lot more in the middle. But depends on the mob. If high mobs. Of course you should not go overboard and just taunt them little by little. Depends on the pelt.

Obviously swordsmans want to aggro as much as they can. If they aggro only the front, mages and AoE classes gonna be sad.
Just use your range and guzzle some pots if you need to.

any good tanker will want to use taunt right at the blue dot position for maximum pull. then they will bring the mob right IN FRONT of the party. The rest of the team member can just stay there and shoot

if you charge into the mob, good luck to u lol.
if he stays there, good luck to him lol.

Please, do not charge into the mob together with the tanker. Don’t be like those idiotic archers that stand next to boss thinking the safety zone will save their ass.

also this was my point since you didn’t seem to get what I’m trying to say, but this time I placed safety zone directly on them and they ran away from it and died.

exactly what I’m trying to say. [quote=“bmecha, post:10, topic:321716”]

well that’s the problem, I don’t dive in but other party members do.
and yes he does stays in the middle. I never seen a swordsman who lure mobs to party.

Depends on the mobs and situation. I wouldn’t want to dive into a center of magic mobs. Physical mobs? Sounds like the best way to gather them into an AoE pile.

it depends on where is the safety zone casted. if it is right beside the boss (I did that to help the tanker), i don’t see why archers (to be fair, wizards too) should stand there.

I don’t really place safety zones on tankers, they don’t need it(assuming not underleveled). you put them on wizards and archers.

It’s mainly the QS problem of them running around mindlessly like I’ve said, other archers don’t really seem to care and keep their position

A good Swordsman will do exactly what you just said, and then run back towards the team so that the mobs chase him and cluster up in the process, making them easy targets for AoE.

A bad Swordsman generally runs into the middle of the mobs, taunts, and then holds block until his armor breaks and dies.

meaning you have some bad luck dealing with tanker.

good tanker will always know how to maximize the parties DPS, like group them together, lure it into AOE (e.g. Flame ground, Haile) so it can be cleared much faster, while keeping the party safe and minimizing the damage.

of cos, please don’t taunt the magical mob. that’s asking for instant kill.

Mmm as a QS and WUGU I wanna some swordsman to tell me how to play in their opinion couse ‘runing like mindless chicken’ is all I know (in my opinion i know what i’m doing lol) couse I have like 5k HP on lvl 150 - to hits and i’m dead - and I don’t wanna change that I’m distance dps class for reasons.

Where is safety zone? Where should I be? I’m searious I have tank but I just started it (lvl 25 lol) so I dont understand this class yet.

Please don’t ever taunt in the center. Move to the wall and taunt so the mobs are gathered in the shape of a banana. Makes AoE easier.

If you run around not going near your tank it’s fine, but you see majority of my newly created alts have very bad experience with dungeon runs and missions runs, with QS in particular.

But now if you run going through your tank which most new players do, that’s definitely bad

Taunt> Move to a corner so that you don’t get knocked+mobs get stacked, save pain barrier for massive amounts of annoyance like flaks on 115 dungeons
