that dosn’t…
that dosn’t tell me anything xD…
ive never used any addons for tos xD…
so im not sure what any of this is
this video puts everybody who puts high dex on their swordies at ease!
well you have pelt so. sorry for all those other swordies with no pelts. hard to level on your 1st char with no pelt.
anyway. i am interested in the way you have the !! countdown timer on your head for your skill. that seems to be another addon correct?

Out of curiosity, have you noted if the game puts Blocks before Dodges, or the other way around?
@haukinyau Thanks!
@Jariu
Dodge always comes before block
I THINK - not 100% sure that flanconnade buff blocks can either appear at the same time as dodge or override it
I’d dare to say that Flanconnade’s buff most likely overrides dodge calculation due to it being a priority 100%.
Edit: Could you give me some insight on your skill points allocation?
Finding FencersC2 has becomed harder as time goes on, specially in the forums.
@Proxied thanks for sharing the video. Was planning on rerolling Fencer with high dex so this is really assuring.
Sure thing
I’m just going to copy paste what I posted on reddit when someone else asked, hope that works
I’ll say now my build is based around venier. However, the only difference between having that and not would be 100% uptime on attaque coquille. Also, the swordsman 1 is a bit different but it doesn’t really matter. You can buy attributes that require x skill level and then skill reset and have them at level 1 and still take advantage of the attribute. So I actually have 4 gung ho and 1 bash.
Some questions I assume will come up for you or someone else who sees this:
Q: Why concentrate over gung ho?
A: I ALWAYS have guardian on for the evasion boost and guardian doesn’t stack with gung ho.
Q: Why no giant swing?
A: I’m not interested in the PvP in this game, and couldn’t find any use for it in PvE.
Q: Why 5 preparation and not use them somewhere else?
A: I used to have 5 composee instead. It is in fact possible to infinitely spam it with high ping without running out of SP. However this requires abusing a glitch with sitting down and standing up right away to proc SP recovery. This can wind up glitchy, so I didn’t really like it. Now I only have to rely on SP pots.
But I guess the bigger question is “why preparation above 1 at all? isn’t it useless?” Well, I found out something interesting about it that I’m not sure if many people know or not. When you hold down preparation with a shield, your block chance gets multiplied by preparations % level. This is bad - holding C is MUCH more effective. However, when you use preparation with a dagger, preparations block % chance actually becomes your chance to block. So this means you can get 90% chance to block with venier and divine might while the skill is active. Combined with evasion cap, it pretty much makes you invincible while it’s held down if you use it with a dagger. If you ever need to, it’s a great “oh ■■■■” button.
This will probably end with fencer c3 if it’s worth going - I’ll take the points out of preparation and put it in to something more offensive if that winds up being the path to take.
I can also answer any questions you or anyone else may have
Just another question. do you know how much evasion is evasion cap? (assuming against mobs with the highest accuracy)
I will also copy paste something from reddit for you too then!
I was trying to figure out the effective evasion cap for all cases currently in the game. I may have missed something, or some data may not be reported, but checking earth tower mobs/all level 280+ mobs and the evasion formula and dodge cap chance max limit provided in the tos mechanics thing, it takes 1235 evasion to cover all current cases with an 85% evasion cap (though this cap COULD be anywhere from 80-85).
This assumes the ToS mechanics listed formula still holds and what not, given the disclaimer that’s listed.
It’s pretty hard to get your evasion that high. Giving up leather for plate makes it even more difficult.
There a couple of mobs that required that kind of high evasion, with one of them being a level 280 or 285 archer.
That being said, somewhere around 1025 should be enough for almost every other end game situation.
Now that Preparation part is exactly the kind of thing I want to hear out of asking someone playing the class, good to know it works as I suspected.
Well, the thing down for SP isn’t precisely a glitch but rather an oversight on how the resting recovery time works, as ti runs even when you are standing up rather than only when you are siting down allowing for you to sit and stand up only for the recovery.
I don’t like to use it either because it’s a pain in the ass, but do note that.
Some details aside due to class paths preference seems that I had the right idea on Fencer, general insight was quite apreciated.
Don’t worry about just copying the thing, you already wrote it so may as well it is just the same info anyways.
Yeah I was just assuming it was a glitch because that’s what I’ve heard other people refer to it as
Now this is something thats also good to see. This might be a somewhat controversial opinion but I think it really doesn’t matter what classes you pick before going fencer (Except peltasta if you are building for evasion)
90% of your DPS is coming directly from the fencer classes exclusively anyway
@Proxied, all your infos were very useful and your attitude very kind - in help everyone here.
I was about to make a post looking for some help. Before that, maybe i can use part of your infos till now to filter some dumb questions.
Why those 4x points in Str?
With these kinda low Con, how were your leveling and some dungeons with magic mobs? Does gears fill the cap or was it a really pain in the ***?
I Was aiming a extremely high Con build - specialy because the magic damage taken (I was building my tank around high Con with full mdef set), focused on PvE, but during the leveling, i’m starting to give it a second thought…
On my cata, I have my str = dex and I dodge a LOT already, but i also have peltasta (chose it for guardian not taunt, but i use taunt still) and hoglan companion (investing in its evasion stat mainly) and use 4P leather. planning to also put green gems into my boots.
people really need to try dex before knocking it. i usually end up tanking because between my dodge and block i can go minutes before i take damage lol
This is indeed true if you ask me, and I’ve been following Fencer since I knew it existed.
We have to admit that Swordsman has plenty of issues, notably in the DPS area, but it’s R6 is extremely versatile due to both classes being able to be taken from basically any path even if both take some special dedication (Doppel forcing you in 2-handed swords if C2, and Fencer with the stupid ass nonsense that is the Rapier durability (I guess also needing a Rapier but ehhh they are good weapons durability aside anyways)).
People may complain a lot about some details in the Swordsman balance, and they’d be right, but ■■■■■■■ up builds is honestly a ‘‘you have to be doing it in purpose’’ level of deal if you ask me.
This is just personal preference. I don’t think it really matters for overall DPS that much, but I feel like it’s kind of a waste to not take SOME kind of advantage of the 70% (60%?) str you gain from being rank 7. 10% more when class 8 comes out. I also wanted 100 on screen str just because
Magic damage wasn’t an issue for me. The only dungeons I do (did) for exp are 50, 90, and 190. Alchemist pots covered all of my HP loss. For evac I didn’t even need to be healed. Storage and maven gave me some trouble when I entered at the bare minmum level, but with healers available I didn’t die that much. When I gained a few levels, the magic damage became irrelevant and fast
So, for a PvE build, high Con is a waste?
I’ve noticed that you didn’t use Flanconnade. Knew last night that it only works with auto-attacks - is it true? So, looking for a high useful combo, what are the best Slash skill in your opinion? I was thinking about Seism
