What determines ice wall splash damage?

Does Psychic Pressure level changes the damage?

I’ve tried but can’t really tell

I dont know but I saw steparu always use physic pressure and ice wall together, maybe the damage is the same but you can land physic pressure without get worried about the monster run or etc?

I think Ice Wall has its own modifier/scaling, since you can also proc the bolts with melee attacks.

That ^

I played as a Cryo-Psychokino on the iCBT so i can give you some insight on that.

Ice Wall doesn’t do damage (at least i didn’t noticed it), it freezes monsters (except Bosses) and also obstruct their walkpaths. When a player hits the wall it releases shards that do damage to all kinds of enemies. Increasing Ice Wall’s level just makes it lasts longer, increases the freezing duration and the amount of cells you can set.

Psychic Pressure is one of the non-melee skills (might be the only one i’m not sure) that makes the wall release shards so if you trap a monster (usually bosses) inside an Ice Wall and then Psychic Pressure you will get damage from both the shards and Psychic Pressure. You don’t have to trap monsters in order to work tho, you can just set a straight wall and then Psychic Pressure it to attack with ice shards. Increasing Psychic Pressure’s level makes it hit harder, increases the range and it costs less SP% per “charge”.

With that said, i think it’s safe to conclude that the shard’s power depends on the strenght of the attack that made them fly, meaning that, if a swordie strikes the wall, the shards will do less damage than if you Psychic Pressure it since the skill overpowers a basic attack.

Edit: Holy crap, someone quoted me o.o

Doesn’t increasing Psychic pressure give it more hits?

No, Psychic Pressure hits as long as you hold down the button or run out of sp. It can also be interrupted if you get hit or move.

[/quote]Oh, I though shards damage was always the same (based on Ice Wall itself).

Thx, tho I am not the OP.

Wiz3Cryo3Rc1 here: You are all wrong.

Shard damage depends on Ice wall level, MATK and other damage modifiers such as magic amplification, elemental property attack (arde) and % buffs as Quickcast and rune of ice.

Shard Damage only depends on the ice wall caster, it never depends on who releases the shards.
