What build is better for PVP

Sw>Sw>Bar>Bar>Corsair>Corsair

or

Sw>Pel>Hop>Hop>Hop>Doppel>Dragoon

not sure if Pel will actually b useful in pvp

or should I just go Wiz/Archer?

It’s all situational and depends more on skill/stat build in every circle if your circle-build is good. Both are good for pvp, but theirs role is different. With so much character differences possible it is almost impossible to choose which build is actually “the best or just better”. There is place and time for anything, just play with something that you will like

I would certainly not recommend Archer unless by pvp you are referring to duels against undergeared or non-pvp oriented builds. Personally i wouldnt go with either of those builds but if i had to, id say the Corsair one simply because iron hook cannot be avoided.

However keep in mind a PvP build means investing a considerable amount into con, and as a Swordsman you are already going to be looked down upon as a dps before that investment. Swashbuckling, from peltasta, is the main thing Swordsmen offer to 200+ Leveling parties.

I see so you think my first build will be a lot better than the 2nd for PVP assuming I go corsair for my 7th rank ?

If I went pel would he be good in the arena and GvG?

I mean there has to be some parties nice enough to let me in their dungeon party without pelt haha

@jacob what build would you go with just curious

Of the two yes Build 1 for iron hook in PvP. You have to have a means of ensuring you are within range of the enemy, and well its one of the only CC abilities Plague Doctors can not prevent.

Im not certain if pelt offers anything other than its HP buff in a PvP setting, you would have to get that info from someone that knows more of that Class.

Haha well as far as Dungeons are concerned they dont have much choice unless they want to leave the instance and give up their run. Im referring to premade leveling parties looking to optimize their grind.

Um, If i was going for being optimal then id likely go with the KrMeta Swordsman3>Cata3>Dragoon. If i wanted to be Unique and Efficient id probably go for Swordsman 3>Hoplite(or whatever you want here)>Corsair3

hmm would the hoplite skills work as a corsair? even if I duel wield like a sin?

Finestra is my only reasoning behind hoplite.

What if I did Sw3>Pel>Corsair3 that actually seems pretty good with the hp buff also will be wanted in 200+ parties as well as good def for pvp and corsair skills to eliminate the threats in pvp and GvG what do you think? or hop is better?

I see what can I do with that skill? is that worth more than what Pelt brings to the table?

sorry for all the questions-=

Up to you there. Not even 100% certain what i would choose there.

This is only 6 ranks.

That said, I’d definitely go for the second build if you’re looking for pure efficiency for a few reasons.

  1. Barbarian circle 2 isn’t very good. It gets way better at circle 3 (especially in PvE, even though I know you didn’t ask about that) with the attributes for WarCry and Frenzy.

  2. Swordsman circle 2 also isn’t very good. Restrain sounds amazing even at a 20% proc chance. The thing you must take into consideration, though, is that everything has the ability to resist status effects. This turns that 20% chance into around 10% in most cases. It can be as low as 4% if someone has maxed resists.

  3. I personally feel that pelstata is amazing even in PvP, due to their crazy attribute passives. A lot of people would disagree , I’m sure, but I could see them even getting nerfed in the future.

hm I see so what about between these two

Sw>Pel>hop3>doppel>Dragoon 2h Spear
or
Sw3>Pel>CorsairC3 duel wield

as far as pvp which would you choose

Corsair circle 3 is currently fairly bad. I would expect their circle 3 skills to get buffed substantially. If you want to dual wield, you could still do so, but I would recommend going Fencer or Shinobi as your final class as opposed to Corsair C3. If you DO go Corsair 3, your main priority would just be getting level 15 hexen dropper, which is amazing, but the rest of the kit is a bit subpar.

Between those two (assuming you swapped Corsair C3 for Shinobi or Fencer), you could really go either way. You’re going to have a hard time leveling up for a long time though as Swordsman 3 > Peltasta. I would recommend pretty much a constant group. Also, since you can go backwards in classes when you rank up, I would go Swordsman > Peltasta > Swordsman > Swordsman if you do choose that path.

Basically what he has said, except pistols on corsairs are actually very efficient. Unless they have changed, without my knowledge, the ability for corsairs to shoot while having someone iron hooked. In the case you would prefer to dual-wield definitely go with one of his c7 suggestions.

Note this video is very recent

You can actually perform any attack and skill (with the exception of skills that move you I believe); you simply may not move. If you hook someone close enough to you, you could melee them to death. It is truly devastating. I agree that pistols are a nice addition to this, but their attack is just so lackluster. I feel that they will receive some fair buffs to it in the future, which will make corsair an absolutely brutal PvP class.

  1. If I go dual wield do I have to swap weapons to use that gun skill? or do I just hit the skill while holding my two daggers and it will just work?

2.Is it a good idea to get peltc1 vs hopc1(or anything else) if my main thing is PVP for this build? pelt should help me im assuming in PVPin many ways defensively would you not agree? I like pelt because parties will want to group with me

3.What will I benefit more from PVP wise Rank 7 Shinobi or Fencer? incase I don’t go C3 Corsair

  1. Also if I did go shinobi or Fencer will I still be able to dual wield and use all of fencers or shinobi skills with two daggers? Two daggers is what im thinking of using as weapons.

  2. Forgot to add the most important question…

I currently have a lvl 30 SwC2 whats the difference of doing

Sw>Sw>Pelt>Sw>Corsair>Corsair> ??
versus
Sw>pelt>Sw>Sw>corsair>corsair>?? is there a difference in doing it in this order? will it show differently in my progress screen? not sure if I have to start over or if I could just pick up pelt next with my lvl 30 char.

I see no real reason to start over, unless you grabbed a circle you do not want in your end build.

Of fencer and shinobi most defintely shinobi. Fencer is a great class, but you would need fencer c2 to get the most out of it whereas shinobi is the standard route because of its synergy with corsair.

@what he said, everything breaks the rope except autos. That is why pistol is so convenient with iron hook, no matter where you hook them you can attack. With only a 5 second window of them not being cced.

In summary:
Shinobi: Maximum damage output given your current build path.
Corsair c3: One of the 2 viable Competitive Swordsman PvP builds.

So corsair C3 would be better for a pvp match?

whould you not have went swordsman c2 ?

also would you add pelt to the build?
