Western player install and play ToS and

  • Gets mad when tries (and can’t) trade a weapon/hat/recipe etc to a friend
  • Gets mad when tries to queue premade in dungeon and can’t
  • Gets mad when tries to queue premade in pvp and can’t
  • Gets mad when tries and can’t pvp when he want (no when the game lets you)
  • Gets mad when discovers how auction shop works
  • Gets mad when tries to give something to an alter
  • And probably he/she leaves this game

IMC, you have to understand that this ■■■■ does not work here.
(there is no other game with this limitations in western market, at least not alive)

MMORPG for a western player is a social rpg. Every western player wants to play with and without friends. (That’s the purpose of “massive multiplayer”)

You guys can argue what you want, but this game will die without remedy if this doesn’t change (This game can’t survive only with RO nostalgia)
In 2016 a suffocating F2P is doomed to die

At this moment it is like an abusive mobile game… lol

EDIT:

Not to mention:

Balance things it is something that eventually will be corrected, but limitations/restrictions with or without paywall… not only destroy the game, you lose all the respect as company.

That is likely the strongest thing that could be said about any game.

there are a lot of topics like this around so i just pick this one that i just saw to say what i’ve been thinking… i’ve been waiting for ToS for years… and what i was thinking is: “damn i really want to play that game when it comes out”.

Now i already got the early access and the game is almost out and what i’m thinking is: “damn i really want to play this game BUT…”

What i mean is that after knowing all this limitations that makes absolutly no sense from whatever point of view i0m starting to think this game will be more about the mourning stages than about having fun.

What i mean is, exactly like when someone knows he/she is going to die, the reactions happens in a specifical order and they are:

  • negation
  • anger
  • negotiation
  • saddness
  • acceptance

At this point in time a lot of players tried to negate to themselves the fact that IMC would actually make all this limitations come true… but they happened…

As we can clearly see a lot of people got and still are getting extremely angre at it.

After beeing angry they try to negotiate with IMC trying to make them understand how WRONG this is… task made extremely more difficult thanks to an extremely minority of stupid players that just “wants the game as it is” not caring that, as it is now, it will shut off very soon.

Then if IMC do nothing if not everyone at least a big chunck of the playerbase will get very sad seeing this game rot into stupidity.

And after getting sad they will accept the fact that ToS will never be the “dream game” were people could really just log in and have fun, thing that’s not going to happen thanks to all this limitations that’ll just make people frustrated, and will just move on.

The thing that really concerns me is that we’re already at the “middle stage” and the game is not even out yet.

THe moment players will give up on IMC changing this stupid limitation stuff will be the moment this game is finished unluckily

I think you could add that once they discover things like

  • Hat enchants
  • Magic scrolls behind paywall
  • Magic scroll drop rate
  • Magic scroll chances of good enchants
  • Skill reset behind paywall in a beta game
  • Price of token in dollars (20$ per month)
  • No stat reset
  • Dungeon limits
  • Items losing potential when traded (recipies don’t)
  • Items losing potential when traded to alt via shared storage
  • Shared storage behind a paywall
  • Cost of repairs
  • Cost of potions
  • Marketplace taxation for f2p
  • Marketplace 1 item limitation, 5 for people who pay
  • PvP arena limitations
  • Their ping is 200+ since server is in NA
  • Shinobi hidden quest
  • Class balance is pretty terrible
  • Post level 210 difficulty
  • Golden anvils
  • Squire career is terrible due to tax right now

The things that make the game super fun though

  • Pets can be shared to alts
  • Music is fantastic
  • Graphics are adorable and fantastic
  • Classes have a lot of variety
  • The world is huge and varied in the beginning
  • Lots of non-instanced dungeons
  • Loot is crafted rather than just dropped
  • Crafting careers require dedication and are valued more in ToS

uhm… how can you share a pet with an alt if the team storage is locked?

how usefull can a crafting class be if you can’t give your earnings and your crafting items to your main characters thanks to the team storage beeing locked?

You can. All pets can be shared to any alt. Level a pet to 200 and you can give it to your level 1 alt as a companion. They don’t go into a storage at all. Just take it from your main and give it to your alt in your home.

I’m not entirely sure, but you can list something worthless in the Marketplace for 400,000 by your alt and then just buy it out with your other character. Yes you lose 10% due to marketplace tax and there’s a long waiting time but it’s possible.

Who would buy your 400,000 trash item? Just you.

I could add in the insane waiting times on the marketplace but those don’t seem too bad to me tbh.

I see, and this works only for pets or other stuff too? cause if you couild actually give silver to your other characters in your lobby that would make crafting classes immediately useful again.

I still see absolutly no point in a crafting class if you can’t use your earnings for your main playing characters.

I edited my post. I hope the shared storage that you get with the token would allow money storage.

The thing is in death you lose some coin. Not much but it’s there. If we could bank our money then we’d all just bank it all the time to avoid the death penalty.

i see, then maybe that “exploiting” the AH would actually be the only way to do it.

Anyway… i think it should be done without the token… i mean locking the crafting classes use to the token utilization would mean, for a lot of player, been forced to spend all the time in game on the crafter just to make enough money to buy the token in the market and repeat… it would take away SO MUCH gaming time that it’ll just make the game boring in a couple of months when you see that you’re not progressing because, well, you’re too busy making money for the fcking token.

But my question is legit, i’d really like an answer from someone that played in betas and such such as you (at least i assume you have):

How can you effectively use a crafting class if you can’t give items or erarnings to your other characters?

Pets take up a character slot in your barracks, they are not considered an “item”.

We all know that OP, but you know, were going to play the game 1st and talk later. Specially because they said there would some differences from Ktos and iTos, so lets wait and see

And this is why threads like this should exist, to show IMC what’s wrong.

Could someone please post a link to the patch notes? I’m still a little bit confused about it, because all I have to go on is that founder’s server access image.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but these trade limits should be lifted once the game officially begins OBT for all; I was under the impression that these limitations were only for the early access people.

Why?

All these limitations are in the korean non beta version

And i seem to recall that’s one of the main reasons why in korea ToS is basically dead already?

I already said why: ^^^^^

Are there any other notes I’m missing, that you could possibly link for me?

Ahhhh, I see it now.

This is what I was referring to before:

And now I see the notes:

Sneaky devils, they took away that “Unrestricted Personal Trading”

Lack of trading between friends, lack of team queue into dungeons/pvp - this will kill this game.

And you know what’s worse than all of the things OP mentioned?.. Those r3tarded people who try to defend IMC’s bad decisions on these forums.
