Wall of no XP ( no one like grind)

Grinding is okay when maps are packed with mobs and you can aggro them as much as you want.
In short, currently grinding is not okay.

Pretty sure ā€œGrindingā€ is less a way of playing a game and more a marketing scheme cooked up when subscriptions where all the rage, and they needed to put a slippy wall in front of players to keep them from reaching end-game and not renewing their subs.

Not that subs are practically dead, it’s still sued to sell boosters or encourage players to see boosters as a way to make extra money in-game by placing them in the auction house…

And the same goes for the people saying grind is fine, but the spawn rates are too low: they’re intertwined. They’re less likely to decrease the spawn rate since it keeps you back longer, more apt to buy boosters, and ā€œcontentā€ (if not satisfied) with the slow progression.

You can’t help one and not the other. An increase to spawn rates will decrease your grind heavily, something it looks like you all dont want to happen…

I’m sure more quests will come out after EA… every online game gets new game content periodically after all.

Pretty sure every single feature of an MMO is less about the game and more about making money. That’s how businesses work. Let’s not fool ourselves into thinking otherwise.

This includes quest spamming, grinding, and even just trying to make the game fun. The longer someone plays a game, the more likely they are to spend cash on it. It’s been (fairly) widely known that the entire reason seasonal quests became a thing in MMORPGs was to create a money sink under the disguise of fun.

What i really dont like about their model is how they balanced the exp grind gives counting the cards, past level 70 every level is about a thousand mobs if you dont use cards, meaning you have no choice either you do quests or you kill 15 thousand monsters.

This part… I can agree with…

We don’t need more or…at least too much quests. I think the main storyline and hidden ones would be enough.
We rather need content and alternative ways of leveling.

If we would have commerce for example what would give some exp and extra money balanced out… It would be awesome.

We could also have some SEA content as was suggested before by someone to have another alternate leveling.

Combining these kind of things with actual real profession system… like professions where you can also level those… could give as much more activity in the game.

Also we need more complicated dungeons…

Then with these we could already have more fun.

If I’m wrong about it and some rly just want plain grinding then sry… maybe this won’t be my game at the long run either… X) I like grinding but I more like to have lots of different ways to have fun in a game.

But I think something will come eventually anyway. We just have to wait for it.

Oh…and also why I’m not totally agreeing with the topic is that just adding lame quests to reach levels faster is lame and actually not even fun either…imo…

Sure they can give you quests i dont mind - as long exp from doing just quests will be = to exp doing just grinding (and time spend on them). But i guess you want just quick lvl gain ( what a shame that the game doesn’t allow us to have best legendary items with 100% drop chance from nooby monsters !!!) …

We have alchemists, and I wouldn’t be even a little surprised if we got more crafting based classes in the future. If we get ā€˜professions’ they will most likely be tied to certain classes. I’m waiting for a blacksmith style class personally.

Basically this. You could just do dungeons, missions, and quests all the way up to cap if that’s what you REALLY wanted to do, but it wouldn’t be fast enough.

78% of made up statistics are made up on the spot.

@hugodsds if you don’t like grinding, don’t join a game based around grinding. this isn’t WoW where levels are handed out complementary as after-dinner snacks.

Lets put this mathematically im lvl 198 right now, farming downtown map for levels, right now a single lvl 9 card gives me 237943 char exp while the goblin magician monster gives 314 char base exp, in order for me to gain the same amount of a single lvl 9 card im gonna have to kill 757.78 goblin magicians.

Now knowing i need to uso about 25 level 9 cards to level up, how teh fuk am i gonna kill 18944 goblin magicians until the end of the month at least?

Can someone solve this problem?

Yeah and I don’t like it that much…but also I had a topic that I think some non-combat/non-crafting professions…like Merchant could be still possible… and I don’t think it would be strange.

Isn’t that actually Squire? X) A crafting blacksmith wouldn’t be rly possible after they let us all craft things.

I don’t think you understand the problem. This game doesn’t give them EXACTLY what they want like 99% of current games do, so they must pout until it does. Every game must be so filled with quests that give so much exp that you are able to shoot up in levels nonstop.

Leveling here takes a little bit of work, which is completely unacceptable! What is this, the 2008!? Nowadays we need to hit max level as soon as possible so we can complain about the lack of endgame content and move on to the next MMO launch in a month or two. Oh and you better not make us interact with each other in any way to reach that max level. What is this, some sort of community? Rubbish!

Yes, I was thinking it could be a rank 8 class perhaps, so that you could go there from Squire. Off the top of my head a few skills I could think of: I would imagine that they would have a higher upgrade chance by a (very) little bit. They could be able to enhance the max durability of an item permanently (by 1 per skill level, so assuming we EVER get circle 3s of this class, they would be able to give +15 durability). They could have some smithing related damage skills.

The key here is that they would use hammers (maces), and maybe some magic attack, which would make use of the previously weird Finestra: Physical Damage attribute if you built that way. They would be able to permanently make gear just a little bit better, so they’d mostly be a utility class. This is just a thought though.

You could also have a wizard base class that would be able to craft gems that give + elemental attack on them that would be basically the next step up from Alchemist.

I haven’t put a lot of thought into these or anything, but there is potential there. I REALLY like out of combat crafting classes. They were awesome in Ragnarok and they were amazing in Star Wars: Galaxies, both of which were two MMOs with huge fanbases.

The grind is so short and easy in this game.
(can seem daunting at first but once you gather up a party and get used to doing that, it goes by quick)
So many lvl capped players already.

Even if you don’t have a lot of time, taking it day by day should only take a few weeks
or 1 - 2 months or so for people really strapped for time… Shouldn’t the leveling take that long?

I personally want the lvling experience to have a healthy lifespan.

I think ToS needs MORE field maps with better spawn to grind in — so that grinding is even more viable in a variety of places. In a good party grinding is fun!

All im saying is that they should buff the exp from monsters so people doesnt have to rely always on cards, im only making another char after they fix this discrepancy, 18k mobs Is not acceptable.

maybe you’re hunting the wrong mobs then?

you’re 198… what level are these goblin magicians?

i mean i get 80-100 base xp for stuff i’m fighting at level 60… -after- the level penalty.

Someone said that it’s easier to party when doing it…

Pretty sure they’re on Kla and not Orsha, because I’m not finding diddly when it’s nothing but huehue’s and anyone speaking Eng is seeking an Eng clan and not a party…and they tend to already be around 200 anyway so fk me…

Base exp: 314…

Uh, yeah…that’s effed up.

Imo they should increase difficulty lvl of bosses - in most cases there is no challange - at all. But i guess if they were to do that most ppl will cry that its too difficult for them … (Gosh I’m glad that at least I have Dark Souls 3 to play for a challange)

Not sure how much of a grind wall you people are having, but it really does help to find a group of people to level with together. A static part of 5 can practically hit 280 in about 2-3 weeks. Knowing when to card really helps. I’ve gotten into the trap where I used up all my cards, and had to start recollecting. Now I’ve finally built myself back up, but the grind is just rough when enough of your buddies in the past outlevel you and basically leave you in the dust, only to say hi when they require your help grinding.
