Megaphone implementations are common practice among MMOs nowadays - and they’re just as useless as they were in any known game to have implemented them. It’s worse when the feature is implemented without a way to opt out of the marquee of idiocy.
- You can’t have a conversation over them
- They’re often used for dumb ■■■■ such as:
- Spamming your screen with one character or several lines of nonsense
- Moronic racism being parroted on by ignorant idiots with no networking experience, basis or research / proof for their claims.
- Advertisement that usually goes nowhere unless your item actually turns heads
- Yeah, nobody sees you looking for party really.
- Even so, good luck over the spam.
Let’s face it, noone is interested in twitter tendencies or dumb jokes while they’re grinding away to the next rank. If anyone really wanted to interact socially with others, they’d know this is a stupid endevour over being in a party, using the forums or entering a proper chatroom (which should really be the alternative).
Get rid of it or let us have the ability to get rid of it.
