[Video] Path to Crit Monk (Cleric1 Priest3) - Leveling Part 1

I see, so do you think this will eventually in the long run round up to a 2:1, Dex:Str or more along the lines of 4:1 ?

Seems you haven’t encounter this yet. I’m curious as to how a c3 priest will handle this so I can make comparison

Well, its one those instance sidequests, where you get teleported somewhere with some objective to defend something, kill X numbers of enemies or what not

Probably closer to 4:1 if level cap is 200, the higher the cap, the more even the distribution. I imagine if cap was 600, and monsters follow similar difficulty/resistance scaling, then 1:1 would be ideal hehe.

Of course there is some room for compromise in terms of gear, especially gems. You can go yellow gems in your weapon/offhand and put more points into DEX, or you can go green gems and put more points into STR. (early on green gems for sure).

The thing about monk is double puch, which benefits more from str because it hits twice, but I still suspect that in this beta 4:1 final ratio is probably gonna be ideal, with yellow gems.

I see, Can Double Punch Crit ?

@melkrow Do you think that if I have a priest friend that’s with me the whole time, I wouldn’t need to take the Priest 3 route and just do something else?

Cause I feel this is good and it’s effective solo, but if I’m always partying, it matters less, right?

As someone mentioned, I am going DEX:SPR as well with Sadhu/Priest. Perhaps the SPR is for Priest skills and magic defense.

I am wondering how you feel about evasion. I assume you dodge everything with 80-100 evasion points difference.

As for defense, how do you feel about the HP, and any plan against magic damage?

How will this build fair against a full dex barb? It’s basically the same right? More or less. Just some stat differences

15 Points in Blessing and 10 in Sacrament is just a waste of Points.
Think about your dmg with level 400-500+. U will crit like 5k-10k with one hit and you wasted 15 Points for 80+ dmg.

1 Point in Revive is awesome, even 1 Point in Resurrection is useful

Just my opinion

PS: Sorry for my english :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve watch the video and throwing everything in strength turns you into a freaking mowing machine. Blessing definitely save your skin, whether mob controlling (via heal)or just whacking them to death.

It can handle 7-6 mobs killing you at the same time, though you’re pretty much near death when the ordeal was over.

@pr4nkster Yup, double punch can crit, so can Energy Blast  and every other Monk damage skill.

@sseeaann You mean two of you priests? Hehe then yeah probably one of you should grab Paladin 1 or Cleric 2 then, since biggest bonus to Priest 3 is extra blessing and sacrament levels, and they don’t stack, so only one of you needs to be Priest 3. But even w/out a friend, paladin is a solid choice for elemental resists and regen skill.

@Indeed I feel like evasion will be nerfed, or at the very least the amount of evasion provided by Dex will be nerfed, it’s very OP. If worried about magic damage, go with cloth armor. HP is in a good state for Clerics right now. I will up my Con a bit higher for more HP once I’m satisfied with the damage, I like having a lot of HP.

@bycr93 more or less the same stat-wise, but absolutely nothing in common playstyle wise. DEX barb spamms skills and manages cooldowns, we just auto attack things to death.

@Mirabai You are kind of wrong about the damage. 90% of damage that Monks will do will come from Double Punch. Doulbe Punch hits twice, but not too hard, and because it hits twice, it uses Blessing and Sacrament 2 times each, so it’s essentially like having 2 sacraments and 2 blessings, which is significant damage. You will not crit for 10K with double punch, heck even 5K will be a stretch. You might be looking at Barb videos and seeing them crit for 10K dmg, but Barb skills have something like 1800 base damage, whereas Doulbe Punch has 500 base dmg.

I’m on the same boat as you in terms of going full dex build. and was doing a bit of testing and turns out 1 physical attack=4.5 critical attack for the crit damage. And also, from what i’ve read from kcbt3 in korea, Blessing and Secrement only applies on 2nd hit of Double Punch. Not sure how it works on icbt2 tho.

That’s interesting, that might change things a bit then. Will adjust accordingly after testing, perhaps Priest 3 is not as optimal as I thought.

I’m currently running on Cleric -> Priest -> Priest -> Paladin(where i am at rank 14) -> Monk -> to be decided and Smite seems to be a good filler since Double Punch consumes 2 stam instead of 1 like previously. I think 20 difference in blessing is still quite big on non weak to strike type of monsters tho.

Is con not worth investing in? And I saw a Priest with Sword Dagger gear. Does that give extra damage or extra attack? Lastly, is Energy Blast any good?

Just wondering where is your formula for monstrance coming from? all i can find is it adds up 1 more dex per level and with some evasion for the attribute.

Hi Melkrow,
this guide really help me out. thanks!
haven’t tried the game coz i cant get any key.
so here is a few question:

  1. if i want to get revive and resurrection by 1 point, what other skill that can be exchange for it?
  2. why u didn’t take deprotected zone? is that skill that useless?
  3. could u show me your future build till monk c2?

thanks in advance

Questions about Blessing and Sacarament

  1. Isn’t blessing magic dmg?
2… If not, then is it applied altogether with your base dmg or is it added on top of it?
  2. Continuing from item #2, does the same apply for half of Sacrament’s buff?
  1. Blessing isn’t magic damage. Its just added base damage. It also applies to your heal damage.

  2. Sacrament is more like added damage where you get additional Holy property damage.

I just googled that formula but it seems accurate.
I got 130 dex and 179 with the buff, so ((130/10)*3+10)=49.

if it’s indeed added to base dmg then it’s safe to assume that it’s as well critable, am i right?
So the additional phys atk from sacrament isn’t applied like blessing is? therefore non-critable?
