[Video] Path to Crit Monk (Cleric1 Priest3) - Leveling Part 1

@sirbakat so Far CON is not a problem. It’s not that it’s not worth investing into it’s just that there isn’t need to (yet). Once PVP comes around then CON will be mandatory, and it might be mandatory for higher level content. So far so good. Yes dagger gives extra damage, I’m using it now, added around 25% more dmg to my auto attacks. Energy Blast should be very good…at least I hope so.

@c_pyth
Hi,

  1. I would drop Aspersion by level or two, maybe even mass heal.
  2. I did take deprotect zone, it’s at lvl 5. It’s good enough for bosses.
  3. Something like this http://www.tosbase.com/tools/skill-simulator/build/kcilufomnj/

@Prinny yeah you are correct. I went back and retested it now that I have a lot more DEX, went from 144 to 197 with Monstrance, pretty awesome.

@nanguotaizao this is the build i’m going by http://www.tosbase.com/tools/skill-simulator/build/kcilufomnj/

@elijiahrave Not exactly, it’s a weird mechanic, but no it doesn’t crit, Sacrament adds some damage to your normal attack, and then it also adds a seperate ‘holy damage’ proce, so it looks like you hit twice. Blessing adds dmg to both your normal attack, as well as the Sacrament proc. Both blessing and Sacrament are added on TOP, after everything else is done, they can not be scaled to my knowledge. The same with Sacrament proc, which can never crit anyway.

thx for the reply.
so with monstrance to add, how will you build the skill?

i think i’ll drop some of aspersio to monstrance

exactly my point! Thanks for clarifying mate :+1:

Have you tried using an offhand dagger? or is using a shield better for priest leveling?

Very good… what about the equipment attribute (cloth/leather)… both are useful, but IMO we should get the cloth upgrade, cuz you know, Energy Blast stuff

Will this path work well for Sadhu too?

I’ve tried this build as well as full str and it seems around lvl 100 full str does more damage. Any thoughts?

Melkrow,

I been running pretty much identical build as you.

One suggestion I have for you, that may be worth it even at your level is to use the lvl 15 Cafrisun set. The dex and attributes should cover evasion easily and the set gives you an additional damage type to proc. For example you will get main hit + holy + earth all buffed by blessing/sacrament. It is pretty awesome. Would add an additional good 180 damage per swing.

Need to find more property damage proc items!

I played this build too with full dex and later I reset stat to balance STR and DEX. I found that I do more damage and crit rate is fine not that much different from full dex build, I feel happier this way.

but by this logic all skills and abilities that cant hit for that much are completely useless, why get ANY skills at low level… with a level cap that high getting skills is just about getting you to stronger and stronger skills…

Hi @earthfr93

To your experience in balancing out str and dex… do you do it 1:1 or like what TS suggested 4dex:1str? not only you lose crit rate but evasion as well… do you encounter that problem when grinding/bossing?

Hmm…

and @melkrow do you suggest sword or mace?? Or you keep two at bay and swap as and when you feel like it?

there are not useless, but why spend 15 Points? Why not 10? u lose 30+ DMG.
But get way more skills, like 20% less dmg, Res or a second life.

@bycr93 I do 3dex:2str, crit rate and evasion is fine (I has 1 lv5 green gem) and don’t have any problem while grinding/bossing at all. Crit is great but after some point I feel like its alway 50% chance no matter how much dex I add ( My lv. is 131)

I had gone with full DEX and reset to STR - CON -DEX rite now .
Full DEX is not good when u face to Magic Attack . U cannot survive with only Evasion.
If full DEX + CON u wont have the dream crit rate as in the video.
So I choose 7 STR -2 CON -1 DEX for accuracy

@Kantern Thanks for the tip, I didn’t know these items existed.

@earthfr93 Yeah i’m a lot more balanced right now as well, about 3:1 right now DEX:STR. Almost to 120 and then I’ll re-assess with a new gear set and gems.

@bycr93 Absolutely carry both a mace and a sword. I facepalm every time I see auto-attack cleric run around with only one weapon. The difference is HUGE when you get a mob that’s weak to one damage type or another.

hi melkrow, i know you are a bit biased regarding this, but how would you compare full int c2 krivis>sadhu>paladin(for aura and looks ;>)>c2sadhu or druid with c2priest>paladin>c2 monk/ x > melee druid?
sadhu seems to have more bossfight potential and group aoe, but i don’t really know how both builds will scale in late game.
i am really torn between those, the only thing that is a bit disheartening is that your own damage is based on a buff that, applied to others, will let your damage pale compared to theirs.

hope you can share your thoughts on this with me

By the way where’s the best spots to grind? the ones i know are the crystal mine, nefritas cliff and tenet chapel b1 and 1f… whats the next grinding spots after tenet chapel? and up to what level? and can we transfer equipments from 1 character to another? I have a swordie with a crit build also and want to transfer those equipments since its the same build…

Sorry for the late reply because these forums wont let me post last 10 times I tried, so I’ll keep this short as it probably wont let me reply again.

I actually quite like that build too (I would go at least 2 ranks Sadhu though). I was debating one or the other, but ultimately decided to go with Monk build as it is less hassle. The beauty of Monk build is that it’s super simple in gameplay. You see a mob, you wack it, move on. Whereas Sadhu, you don’t really want to go OOB just for one mob…or two mobs. You kind of have to spend more time setting up mobs for good efficiency. Same with Krivs lighting.

In a perfect world, Sadhu build would outperform Monk in both bossing and AoE farming. In reality, with packed zones, KSing, horrible density, Monk probably pulls ahead in terms of farming speed.

Now that is coming from somebody that has not played Sadhu and I’ve only seen few Sadhus ingame, and I would not want to be them at the moment. In fact, here is one https://youtu.be/8b23bhnKdrk?t=12m55s

I’ve seen him grinding in that zone at the same time. Notice he just follows me, trying to find a good room to unleash his OOB, but density just isn’t there, and I’m killing them on the go. The end result is I end up killing 10+ mobs while he has to search for mobs that are clustered together otherwise it’s not worth it to waste his OOB and Safety Zone.

I would really like to know how well did Sadhus do though, from somebody who had first hand experience.

thanks for the reply! i have both clerics around level 40 right now, i will probably get them both to 80+ to see the main differences.
right now, the int krivis is blasting the c2 priest out of the water in boss fights, while the priest is slightly ahead in mobbing, even though his hit range with auto attacks seems annoyingly short and small compared to 1h swordsman, might just be some targetting issues, i need to get vubbe gloves to see if this changes.

i discussed some points with a twitch streamer, with a similar build ( cleric c3 for fade) and it looked manageable to use oob for 1-3 enemies, then cancelling and moving on, with the option to body explosion those few actual mobs you can collect.

how do you feel about aoe/ grouping with your build?

I dont understand the benefit for dual wielding can you explain that to me?
Arde dagger would give like extra 150 dmg to every attack (and I heared it sclaes with crit). But is this worth like 1mil silver…holy.
And how does that work for auto attacks? Does it alternates between main and offhand? Or does the character always attacks with the mainhand?
I hate that many things are so expensive. I dont mean the things like arde dagger ( but its rly overpriced) like upgrading costs.
Upgrading 75 weapons until 5 well , thats a chunk of silver. And when it fails for 6+ above, rip. I dont actually know how ppl can make millions of silver except selling expensive stuff and farming higher level zones.
I never was in the spot whith crit characters where I can say: I definitely can farm this high level zone efficient enough to make some cash.
I always went back to the panto archers grinding for 1-max 2 hours for 100k silver or something.

Right now Im 63 I think cant remember now, with cleric > Priest 2 and the leveling is just disgusting. No zones, No density, mausoleum is always full and only 1 channel… I need some explanation here and experience
