Untradeable gear is killing this game

Yeah but the issue with wow is you have different specs you can run. You either run your dps raiding spec to acquire raiding gear, and you switch on the fly to a pvp spec or something else once you’ve acquired that gear. This is completely unviable in this game, and ET isn’t designed wel enough hat any rag tag team can beat it.

Yeah I’m not saying that they’ve done it right, but I think the general idea is a good one.

The problem as usual seems to be wizards. You don’t get this problem in the archer or swordsman tree as easily. Yeah you COULD make a build that can do both pve and pvp as an archer to get the gear but it wouldn’t be an optimal pvp build and chars using Hunter would walk over them most of the time but are pretty poor pve except in objective gamemodes like Uphill Defence.

I think with the release of r8, a lot of current nonmeta ET builds will be viable to 20F. Just speculation though.

The problem there is that they might be able to get Lolo gear but Solmiki gear will then be out of their reach instead. Same problem, different gear.

i don’t know if it should be tradable, but earth tower model is pretty bad and THAT need a rework for sure

The untradeable gear system is broken in this game because it doesn’t encourage people to do end game, instead it discourages them from attempting ET because you can only run one of 5-6 builds in order to finish it.

Now if ET gear was tradeable, more people would make a dedicated ET build to generate money, and players who see ET gear on the market would play more to save up silver to afford them.

Now lolo gear is a pipe dream for 99.9% of the population, there are less than 50 players who can run this. Any kind of mechanic that dissuades players from playing an mmo is a failed system.

The idea of making ET an 8-man elite dungeon sounds pretty good in all honesty.

2 healers 2 cc utility and 4 dps gives way more viability to builds

Would be a raid then. And if you can’t find 15 people it’s gonna be a pain in the ***. It’s hard enough to find people in missions.

I still think @kyle_ruiz6 had the best suggestion of monetizing materials so players can slowly accrue mats without having to save millions. It also allows those that would farm gear to sell to generate income more consistently than grinding for months for a payout

If only this game’s biggest issue was untiradeable gear.

I think things like earth tower gear is fine to be untradeable, but it would be nice to trade certain untradeable gear through team storage at least. Then they can make earth tower builds to make the gear for other characters. With new ranks coming out i think itl be easier to clear earth tower.

Best gear in the game is ok to have to work for instead of people buying a bunch of silver to get it :slight_smile:

Getting loads of recipes/equip that you cant use and also not trade is a fail in itself. WOW not only had the loot giveable to any party member, it also had guaranteed dropps. I remember very early BWL dungeon bosses dropping two set pieces each run. But what do we get here? Talt !?

R8 making ET easier to clear is not even an argument, cause then new equip will come with the same trade restriction requiring the new R8 meta to get.

I fully believe it is isn’t class specific, I believe it’s players only believing that a set group can clear ET. Which was funny, because up til we got the videos of ET clears on ITOS no one thought that group of Classes viable. Start being a leader, and stop being a sheep. META is NOT the only way, just the easiest, as for most games, and most content.

This isn’t to say I don’t agree with the topic at hand. Specially considering how hard it is to get. Really makes doing it with Alts more of a chore then a pleasure.

Problem is we don’t have infinite amount of players. We have a small player base, you can’t ask them to try infinite amount of builds and party compositions. Players will play their favorite char, and build party around that, leaving the less favored builds out.

I wouldn’t mind gear being untradable between players but I would actually like the gear at least to be transferable between our own characters through team storage instead. It also helps promotes the rolling of more alts.

If I happened to chance upon 2x archmage bangle recipes in saalus on my archer, I would have been tempted to roll a wizard if they can be transferred through team storage, rather than disappointed cuz they are hard to get yet I got them on a character which has no use for them.

Same with the newly implemented blessed shards, as these shards take time to farm, players who want to get their lv5 transcended weapon and such will want to roll more characters to get them. This promotes more alt making, instead of restricting it making players feel more frustrated.

Hope IMC can do something about this.

Stop whining about ET gear being untradable guys, it’s fine.

As Awooo said, the gear itself is a reward for beating a hard dungeon with a particular char. Make it tradable and it will only reward the time invested in the game (like all the other gears), not your investment in your char…

The problem are the random recipes/gear that you get in cubes. And all the materials. And the potions. And the Uphill rewards.
All of this should be tradable.
