Untradeable gear is killing this game

The gear you get from the hardest dungeon in this game are flawed on a basic level. You will never, ever see most of these weapons like lolopanther musket, bow, spear, or sword because it is quite literally implausible for those classes to clear up to floor 20.

It pretty much completely invalidates the end-game pve content in this game because all of the rewards are locked to very specific classes. Want to get a lolopanther sword to complete your pvp sword build? Nope, that option is literally impossible in this game. Same de with sokmili. It’s just piss poor design, especially when compared to RO where the player economy was driven by tradeable end-game gear.

They should’ve made lolopanther gear tradeable, would’ve given a lot of people incentive to run it. Now it’s just a dungeon that people only run once just to say they’ve beaten it.

I don’t think I would spend months grinding away for a weapon just to trade it away. Very few Lolo panther weapons even exist on KTOS and after all that effort I think those players probably feel the same way. I don’t think anyone even has enough silver to trade for one so the point is probably moot anyway

uhm isn’t that the point of end-game content in MMOs? lol.

Pretty sure I would do that once I get my second “non tradable” gear.

This is happening on virtov already, only a few people doing it because you either get talts/duplicates/parts you don’t need.

This is stupid, same as saalus, getting Didel GC on swordman and Plunger on clerics, and you can’t do anything about it, you can’t put it on team storage. You just look at it and question the game.

How many people even have their first Lolopanther weapon? I’m confident when I say 0 on ITOS.

Edit: I do agree about Saalus items being tradable though but the OP didn’t mention those

That’s not the point, I’m talking about all non tradable items in general, starting from Virtov/saalus onwards, yes that includes ET gear later on.

No you wont. Getting a lolopanther weap would cost you around 280 cubes.
Since there is no way in hell you will spend nearly 100mil to reroll just to sell it, the second weapon will take you around 280/2 = 140 days. Thats assuming you pass every time lol.
(of course im referring only to lolopanther) otherwise yea i agree

In some MMOs people actually make it their business to farm these month-long end game gears. Almost always if not most of the time there’s going to be events for these (ex. the x2 cube drop event we had previously) which speeds up the process.
We pretty much gave up doing ET since even during the very constricted time we had to play and during that available slot of minimal time the game decides to fu,ck us over and say something like instance excess cr4p or do some random disconnection when we do enter our runs. Yeah, thats pretty much the problem.

I think we should just adapt a system where the essences and fragments are tradeable but the equipment are not.

Hmm yeah, then what would people do when they get their weapons? Ignore ET forever? great. You now have ET gear, you still want to do ET, you can sell them later on eventually.

Right now I don’t see anyone having it either, but as patches go by they will be easy. 1-5th floor should be easy as cake with R8 now unless IMC decides to modify it again.

Yeah like I said they will be easy eventually, it’s already doable by some koreans now and I think someone here posted their ET achievement as well, that’s only with R7 patch. We could get upto R10 later on making things easy, but then again people would probably lose interest in doing them all over again if the items are not tradable anyway, this kills the game slowly, as it is now with lower tier instances

(Why bother doing virtov, if you can get better gear soon? - might be the case for ET later on)

This makes more sense than having the items be tradable. It is easier to monetize instead of having to save millions of silver.

Also, my only experience with other MMOS was vanilla WOW. All the best equip was bind on acquire so it’s the same thing to me as non tradeable ET gear

Untradeable equips aren’t new to MMOs. WoW has tonnes of them, they just call them Soulbound so less people notice that it’s just a trading restriction and feel like it’s part of the world/lore.

No matter how easy it gets its still gonna take about 1.5hrs a run x___x
If you invest 280+ hrs on a single weapon (35 entire 8 hour play days), just how much are you gonna set it at lol.
I do get there might be nothing else to do but ET all over again will just make you burn out and quit.

I think everyone agrees that saalus being untradeable is stupid . The OP only mentioned Lolo Solmiki gear though

That’s probably intentional and part of the reasoning for them being untradeable though, to make overpowered gear unavailable for pvp characters that don’t require them to be very strong.

EDIT: Overpowered for pvp characters anyway. PVE characters can use them in PVP to get a boost vs class builds that would normally dominate them.

The problem is that still half of the pvp char are cryochrono, chronolinker, FS cleric etc that can do ET but not most of other pvp build like catagoon, scout, etc that doesn’t have already a build viable for ET. So it’s not just giving to pVE char an advantage against pvp char here
