Maybe a system where if you level up a char to max level, they give you a buff to level the second with 2x-3x? and the third 4x-6x? and goes on?

I felt pretty good about the EXP rate we had for as long as I took part in the beta. I can’t really say what I would feel like about late game as I didn’t really experience it. If it ever gets to the point where you can power level a character to max level in a couple weeks I will probably feel like the system has failed. I would like to see leveling be a big part of Tree of Savior. I think it’s better for spreading out content. As in typical MMOs right now you go through all this content super fast like 5 days to get a character to max level and then you’re just waiting on raid content or doing max level daily quests. And I feel like MMOs that do a better job of spreading out the leveling content feel better to me. I think it’s just a mater of making the leveling feel good in itself.

On the idea of rested XP and boosts:
I’ve always been a very big fan of rested EXP bonus to help even out experience gains between those with a lot of free time and those with little. I wouldn’t mind 1 hour a day with double XP gains. I think that is always one of the better ways to even the playing field a little bit. Also maybe minor EXP boost from a cash shop like 25%XP/Drops I think is reasonable if ToS goes with a F2P model.

In a perfect world having the game tailored just for me and no one else I’d like to buy the game and give you a subscription and we just have a power hour feature, and a low cost cosmetic only cash shop. And skip out on XP boost items. But I would rather have ToS be financially successful because I want lots of content! And I want some day for there to be a ToS 2. So consider the F2P model with a cash shop that is balanced to American tastes–no resorting to tactics to annoy or heavily inconvenience players that don’t pay. Perfect World Entertainment has recently not done so well with American players because they focused on cash shops based on inconveniencing players or cash shop that sold power. I know they took a nose dive with Neverwinter Online because players would not keep playing the game after they saw how abusive the cash shop was. And I think ToS’s core audience would be very upset to see an abusive cash shop.

I think an example of a cash shop that was well balanced for English speaking taste is Path of Exile’s cash shop. They sell cosmetic items that can be used to change the look of pieces of equipment and the visual effect of spells. And these cosmetic items have charges. So you buy it again as you change items. And while they give you very good inventory space, more then enough for most people, the heavy gamers can buy extra storage space. And they have done good business and have built a level of trust and respect with their community. If you have anyone in the office that has played that game they maybe able to elaborate better.

At least that’s my 2 silver. ToS :blue_heart:, hope that helps.

Or imc can just add more quests at lvls 2x-3x

Welcome to 2015, a 25% XP/Drop boost isn’t going to stop all but extremist from playing while providing some revenue and thus future content for us… We’re not talking ArcheAge. If we lived in a magical world of fairies and gum drops you could probably hope for cosmetic only but outside of massive games like DotA 2 you can’t expect production costs to be covered by a purely cosmetic cash shop for a F2P game with a small but devoted player base, unless the devs get real clever about it. Or if they think it can stand alone with a subscription model.

And league of legends… cash shop can’t be purely cosmetic… but XP/DROP boost is not the solution and will be a problem attracting compulsive people. The point is IMC will not do that (99% sure).

No league’s big enough if they wanted they could do cosmetic but they’re greedy and have a strong market hold. But we aren’t and realistically we wont be. We’re a dedicated community and we need a new game but we’re not in the millions. Although I think we are a genre that can grow bigger with a new game.

I think there are clever solutions out there. But I haven’t seen anyone mention one yet. The rare cosmetics from gift boxes. Or unique cosmetics/forum signatures for large dollar donators helps. But is that going to be enough?

I mean I’d like if IMC at least gave the cosmetic only shop and see if it works. But I don’t know. I don’t have that much faith in designers anymore. IMC would have to have faith that their game is going to retain their player base and keep growing and that their cosmetics are cool enough enough that people will regularly buy them.

I would add… that there are plenty of American company’s that have bet the farm and made the cosmetic only work. but I don’t know… IMC would be one of the first Korean companies to put faith in their audience like that, if not the first. I would really like it to see it happen but I’m still a pessimist at heart and I just don’t put faith in them doing that.
