Not really. I am not paranoid, but its not a great test to determine bottage.

I donā€™t bot. I donā€™t even have a level 100 character yet. Not at all worried about it. At some point I will have hundreds of hours into a character though, and I would hate to have my character banned for something I didnā€™t do, which is a possibility with the methods that happened last night ( Avid was pretty guilty though ).

Maybe its because I come from premium titles mostly, where that type of fly by the seat of your pants banning, would never happen.

I am just concerned for the future.

I am curious what the servers would have looked like if bots never existed though. Mat drops would probably be 3-4x more expensive without them. Mithril Ore is only as cheap as it is because of them. Even if you had church all to yourself, it isnā€™t worth the time it takes to farm 1 Ore currently, as you can make far more silver in the same amount of time even at low levels.

So on the one hand you have more access to mats for high level items for everyone on the server. On the other hand, you have a overabundance of supply and it hurts individual hunting rares for sale.

If all the bots magically dissapeared tonight and never returned, I wonder how long it would take for Mithril Ore to go back to its normal price. Hmmmā€¦ Maybe I should start buying up all the mithril ore :-P. haha

This thread is an obvious result from GM not making things clear enough, which allows OP to claim his innocence even though GM was legit.

I donā€™t know if GM is using whispers by watching the video, and obviously GM is not saying that you will get banned by not responding

This allows OP to have an excuse to claim that he simply dont want to response, and put GM to a awkward position.

If GM made it more professional, such drama wouldnā€™t exist in the first place

I hate every bot and fully support GM banning bots, both manually and automatically. Iā€™m writing here to leave suggestion for GMs to avoid unnecessary accusation like this in the future.

i didnā€™t read you previous posts, but mat prices are never the reason to allow bots exist.

If thereā€™s no bots, legit players have much better resources to gain silver (cuz they donā€™t need to compete with bots) and the silver inflation will be much lower, which means you can buy things with fewer silver.

All bots should be banned, thereā€™s no reason to allow them exist.

Why else would the GM appear there and start messaging him? ā€œHey Kate/Avidity I saw your boob profile picture on the forums just thought Iā€™d say hiā€¦ā€

??? Come on lol. There is no way in the year 2016 that people donā€™t know why a GM would appear and start trying to talk to them for several minutes.

But if the GMs did do your method it might take quite awhile, giving the bot owner plenty of time to see it happening and take over to answer the questions and what not.

Perhaps some simple questions that a bot canā€™t answer with an automated reply like, ā€œPlease answer what is 5+7 or you will be banned. You have 2 minutes.ā€ Yata yata.

That would be best. No need for teleporting them all to a location and screening them one at a time there. That takes too long.

Oh no, Wasnā€™t defending botting. Quite the opposite really.

I am the type of person who will farm for hours for that .01% drop item. I really like rares. Back in the day, my UO Tower was covered in Glacial Staffs. :slight_smile:

Was just trying to imagine what the server would be like.

I still feel that ignoring a GM is super disrespectful and should warrant a TEMP ban even if he wasnā€™t botting. Ignoring a GM is a no-no in my eyes and shows a level of entitlement to the extreme that I just canā€™t agree with.

Ofc I think normal people donā€™t do that. I think OP is indeed a bot, but he found an excuse saying he ā€œpretended to be a bot to test GMā€.

If GM has made it clear that if you do not response you would get banned, heā€™s doomed even he was pretending to be a bot.

Do you guys know if legal afk-farming has ever warranted bans (from janitor or smth idk?) With Paladin3 + Conversion, for example, or Necromancerā€™s Raise Dead.

Theyā€™ve said in the past it was okay as long as youā€™re actually there. So just be careful if you want to tab over to a movie or something, because if you donā€™t respond to a GM quick enough you could be banned.

Iā€™d say this rather discourages AFK sorc/necro farming.

I got banned since 05/30 for no reason, except maybe, the map and exp viewer add on. Theyā€™re still looking into it and no answer so far. And yeah, I always liked to waste R$ 90,00 over nothingā€¦#onlynot

I would have expected more of you Flan. I mean, youā€™re the guy who pretended having experience in coding video gamesā€¦
For me, this seems way more like a player acting like a bot than a true botā€¦

Examples :

  • 1:16 Start killing honey, honey tp, move to where honey was, then go to where honey is and hit it, then leave before the mob is killed, then go kill another honey
  • 2:09 player stops for no reason (but music stopping). Player starts walking again once music is back.
  • 3:26 Player starts running in circles. Player was following an horizontal line at 1:40, and was following a sort of diagonal line sometime in the meantime.

I stop here. If this a bot, this is an highly complex one. One that is supposed to look like a player mindlessly farming. Thatā€™s some high level AI imho. I doubt anyone took the time to code that.
Or it is a bot which follows a ā€œrecordedā€ pattern, which basically invalidates this video as ā€œproofā€ of botting.

Oh, last one :smiley:

  • 4:31 (and before) player run around, not following any pattern, wondering why map is empty, then wonders what to do and what to click.
    Thatā€™s some high level botting.

Anyway, people here act like chickens when it comes to botting and RMT.
Donā€™t know anything on the subject but shoot as loud as they can.

Nowhere on the Terms of Service does it say ā€œyou may not afk farmā€, just that you canā€™t bot/use illicit programs. The only sentence that could be interpreted that way is ā€œyou are obligated to respond to any inquiries from IMC gamesā€, but then if youā€™re just afk in a town or something and donā€™t respond to a GM, thatā€™d warrant a ban too by that logic.

If the player is not a bot, he pretended to be a bot on purpose, and should be banned from his behavior.

In manual bans, GM should only rely on what he have seen and verified. So I think itā€™s very legit to ban this player.

Would like to point out that every screenshot she takes of ingame shows almost 20 unused stat points also that she made a thread about spending 4 million on tokens and in other threads people have accused her of botting beforeā€¦ Smells like a dog and acts like a dog then it must be a bot :wink:
