Wow so much drama in this thread. Curious to see if you would show us the ticket reply from imc support.
Lets try to hit 400 post

Exactly =p … gonna luv ppl like him/her …regardless of she/he was using of the bot XD…
There is a problem with this GMs aproach:
IF people disable bubble chat AND hide chat window they wont notice him.
I cant say what happens on a private message as I dont use it, but just based ont that is a definite NOGO. Sorry, but this is not the way to do it.
Doesnt matter the OP hung himself when he posted the video of him obviously botting.
Guessing his forum account is now banned as well. One down, many to go. /hivefive GM’s.
Doesnt matter why the GM banned him, the aproach of chat testing is invalid and can cause a lot of false bans.
a few ways with ingame skills to actually tap out bots
a) oracles change: bot attacks way to strong monster and dies (or just create a battle testing dummy, they literally dont die and catch them from login to maintenance)
b) create an icewall around them with an open space, they wont walk backward if on the opposite site is an enemy
c) swell body before monster dies, and repeat forece. bot will not change monster
Or at least try private chat, Im sure it opens a seperate window in any condition (at least that would be the best way)
You baited him to ban you and you got banned. i dont see a problem
how do you know chat testing was the only way he verified he was a bot?
You noticed how the GM was standing still for a while? he could have been looking over logs.
You forget, this is not your game.
This guy is know member of forum. The first thing that he would do is to help GM to hunt bots and brag about that in the forum. He made topics about hunting bots.
He lost his moment of glory, unfortunately for him, because he was AFK, botting.
He just found out why he was banned after seeing the video itself. As he is not a full time bot, have archivements, titles and lot’s of people know him, he thought people would believe him.
The bots are not only gold sellers, legitimate players turn on their bots for some time while doing something else, like writing bullshit in the forums,or asleeping.
It is very easy to know who does it:
Just check out who think this guy is innocent and argues that people who look and act like bots are not necessarily bots and if a GM ask if you are a bot you can pretend to be a bot to see what he will do. Nowhere is it written that pretend to be a bot in front of GM is subject to banishment. This kind of rhetoric is characteristic of guilty or assholeness
We dont know if the OP was banned solely on this reason or if the GM checked 100 other possible options. He used something that will not work and I like to point out chat testing has to be removed as an option, it provides no useable result IF no replies are given + it may give false “negative bot” responses IF bots used the cleverbot chat engine.
Logs on top of observation of the character movement I mean in this video it’s pretty clear that that’s a bot just from observation…
I feel like the chat testing was the “last ditch effort” before the ban to be honest.
Point is. GM banned someone who was actually botting so I don’t know what this paranoia is about that IMC is going to start “falsely” banning people based.
It’s to the point where everything IMC does is bad and I’m tired of hearing it. This was a GOOD thing that IMC did. Anyone who plays MMOs knows that GMs are LAW and you reply to GMs. If you have your chat disabled but you see a GM standing right next to you for awhile, might want to look at your chat logs.
You are NOT entitled to ignore a GM, ever. That is the law of the MMORPG genre since Everquest back in the 90s.
Now if the GM was just PMing bots without physically showing up next to the bots so they can see the GM and stuff I would consider that bad practice but right now this is good practice. GM took the time to examine the bot, probably verified some logs on top of observation and then performed chat testing.
At this point it’s on the player for choosing not to care about a GM watching them for several minutes.
I fail to see the problem with what happened here.
once people start coming to the forums complaining that the GMs in game are banning them without verifying they are bots, then ill be worried but i have yet to see a post like that in report section until this thread, which the person is obviously guilty.
Flan i agree with you. i feel like the only people being paranoid about this are the actual botters.
while I 100% support GM banning OP, i suggest GM to be more professional on banning bots.
An example I encountered before in RO days: GM warps you to a corner of the map, asking in whisper chat “Please answer this question within 30 seconds, otherwise you will be locked for suspicious behavior: what the result of 7+8 =?”
@STAFF_John
i didnt know there was proper etiquette for banning bots. Act more professional at banning bot? lmao
Did you even watch the video?
Look at the bright side… one less OP to insult and annoy you
Gotta love how karma works
That was the point of my post though. To show people who are autistic are not necessarily stupid because of it. I’ve known enough autistic people (not geniuses, but great gamers and artists) now to know that. The way Avidity was throwing it around as an insult was ridiculous.
