Tree of hardcore grindfest

I am in the beta and am enjoying myself quite thoroughly. And yes it IS an RO replacement for me at least. You need to get the idea out of your head that just because I am a long time RO veteran that we all expect it to be just like RO. Yes there is something I would like but as of right now I love ToS for what it is.

I played RO when i was 10yo, already 15 years from that. I just got sick of people thinking that this will replace their ā€œRO needsā€ sadly for them, this is not RO, it won’t be RO and it will never be RO, and that’s the reality of things, I was expecting a brand new game and I was not disapointed, it has everything I was expecting it to be and I’m really enjoying it.

Ok first off, yes I do agree that exp rates should be increased, but only for the cbt. However, I’m getting sick of people saying in global: ā€œI have no quests left what do I do?ā€ Omg. This game is meant to be a GRINDFEST!!! There isn’t going to be huge epic endgame raids, and frankly that’s just not the type of game this is. I would compare this game to Secret of the solstice/Maplestory/Dungeon Fighter/Diablo, and you want to know what all of those games have in common? A heavy grind, but that’s what makes those games special! I really think it’s ridiculous when you kill a blue mob that you get a few levels. That’s just catering to casual players, because encountering blue mobs has to do with luck and not dedication. I think the reason why the grind may seem ā€œboring or slowā€ is because the community so far isn’t really close knit, which I think should definetly change, because one thing you need in a grinding game is a great community. You really want that feeling of a 2nd home, and so far people don’t really like to party and make friends. They are treating this game like a a solo ARPG, which is not what this game is! Maplestory and Secret of the solstice may not have huge raids and alot of strategy, but the community is what made those games. No one in Secret of the Solstice ever got to max level which was 180, and the game was out for like 5 years, and I think the highest someone got was like 160~. If you want to get to endgame fast, play a game like Tera or World of Warcraft. I can almost guarantee that you wont feel at home, and it wont bring back nostalgia or even be your next source of nostalgia in the future.

It’s about the journey not the destination. They make it easy and then you kids complain about the lack of things to do

I totally agree with you since I played SotS, too. Grinding is fun with friends and earning a level is the best thing ever. I won’t say anything else because you said it.

I remember some people taking years to max level on RO soloing. Welcome to RO’s Sequel. May or may not be as bad but the grind is still there.

I love grinding because it makes me doing something in the game… When there are not grinding anymore everything almost turns to bore fest…

grinding is boring as hell. unless i have different maps choices at the same level. unless i can find happy party leveling tgt. also if there are reward/achievement after you killed every 100 same mob, it will make thing more interesting. ie, Achievement - You killed 100 popolion; Achievement - You killed 200 popolion
some exp or pots reward will be good

There are 3 level areas for every level range…

that sounds good :grinning: i don’t get the chance to play this beta, so all my information are from posts
actually i think the current TOS grinding sounds good for me (just the quest bosses seem too weak)

I remember grinding in big apple forever >.< the mounts and wings were so cool, yet so simple. I really enjoyed the mounted combat and getting a lv3 atk mount and lv10 atk pet was an amazing feeling!

Everything was simple and the graphics were awesome, clear, nicely organized. Everything was so hard to get that it felt really good when you did  I miss my fish hat xD

If the EXP required keep scaling exponentially like they are, wouldn’t that imply it could take years to casually achieve levels like 300+?
