So what is this thread about, you may be asking yourself. Well, it’s so we can stop fooling around once and for all. Purely informational. I decided to compile the historical development of the Pineapple item in the recent gacha, so maybe in the future IMC can come back to this very same thread and not come back for a third round of oversights. But third time’s the charm, so I’ll remain positive. Without further ado.
So what was first, the Symbol of Wealth or the Pineapple? (bonus Nesting Chick)
Back in April 2017, IMC for some unknown reason decided to add the Symbol of Wealth item to the gacha. Not touching how this absolutely strange move goes against the very basic idea of playing the game, it came with an —wait for it— exploit, which allowed people to exchange the SoW’s obtained through the original Magnum Opus crafting method for Letitia medals.
As you can see in the original thread at the time,
Please give it a read, great insightful comments in there. Until IMC announced they’d remove the problematic SoW from the gacha, not acknowledging there was a bug among other things.
Okay, sure. We all make mistakes, and we’re kinda used to this kind of behavior from IMC. Let’s all just move on. Uh oh, what’s that coming, timeskip?
Yes, it is now June 2018. More than one entire year since the first incident.
New gacha, new items. Oh but what’s that? Am I seeing right? Now there’s not one, but TWO items obtainable in-game through legit methods added to the gacha. Oh you, IMC, you sure do have a Nesting Chick brain inside a Pineapple-thick skull! But do not despair, thankfully there’s still some old players with a memory to call their own around (thanks to @moonster for the original thread)
Alright, sure. Anyone sane would have to make an incredible effort to even start to understand why is this happening. But this doesn’t stop here, oh no. You’d think the solution was as simple as acknowledging you screwed up, remove the two items and write a little post-it reminder to not do it again, and stick it right there on the edge of your office monitor. But I guess we better not get too hasty with the assumptions! So what we’ll do is remove one item first…
