ToS vs RO2, What is your verdict?

TOS and RO2 are not really similar at all, it’s kinda hard to compare them. I’m going to give a somewhat controversial opinion and say that I really liked RO2 for the first 6 months. It had problems but the raiding and pvp were really fun, and I met some awesome people in my guild. Unfortunately the combination of bad management decisions and the release of the Advent of Valkyrie expansion ruined the game. I never really minded that it was linear and quest-based while leveling, because the real game started when you were able to run raids.

TOS seems more focused on leveling, which is why I say it’s not really comparable. I’m interested in playing a different type of game like this, but as a player that came from RO2 and never played RO1 I’m hoping that TOS gets good raids because it takes skill to work well with a group and normal dungeons don’t really expose you to that level of difficultly.

This isn’t even an argument, ragnarok online 2 was and is trash and will probably close down in a year or two.

This because it’s unique and the only good graphic 2d game with 3d graphics

sad to see people calling games trash
well in fact the game designer/head/maker were the ones to blame for releasing broken games…

No.
You can’t take RO fame, and make an half-assed copy and generic “wow-like” that is RO2, it has NOTHING to do with ragnarok, the gameplay isn’t similar or anything, it just broke my heart when i tried it out, it was so bad.
If anything this was the fault of the greediness of the devs that made that game, not the players.

RO2 is still Trash. As trashy as the CEO of that corp xD!

its their fault making that game :joy: … its just sad to see people calling a game (well, not realy a game) trash/garbage when the real garbage is the maker :joy:

theres nothing in RO why ppl keep comparing it <.<

yes its nostalgic and blablabla…but when i rewatch some RO video in youtube its just a game where u can only see numbers and more numbers(damage output)…the gameplay is a bit stationary(ofc its an old game)… meanwhile RO2 trying so hard to give a diffrent feel where it gives lots of action animation and new atmosphere but oh well, it has pros and cons… ofc i like TOS more than RO2…but i like RO2 than RO in term of gameplay…RO2 just lack of job advancement and so easy quest

This is something really dumb to discuss, but i will, i’ll take the bait for you.

Are you calling the devs of the game garbage because they made a trash game, but i don’t think that is correct, the garbage it’s the game itself, no the people who made the game, of course they work for a company and they do what they are told to do. If the final product is trash, then the fault is of the main devs who wanted to make “that” a game, so the game itself is garbage, no the workers. They indeed can make mistakes and bad games, but it doesn’t mean that the same devs can work on a better game later.
Don’t you think?

TLDR: RO2 is trash.

you got a point their

still, IF i were the one to release Ro2 labeld as a game ill kill my self for making such a horrible game :joy:

Sees obvious bait - I’M GOIN’ IN ANYWAY!

That’s the thing… It wasn’t a horrible game. It was managed poorly. There is a difference. The game was well received by those with an open mind, NOT expecting RO. Expecting RO kinda defeats the purpose of the game being called… ya know…

#RO2

That’s why it’s a different game, and not an expansion or a reboot called… RO.

It’s that same mindset that can and may eventually destroy this game before it even has to chance to hit commercial release. :spaghetti:

P.S. This isn’t directed at you, @rhidz. I just happened to click that reply by accident.

I took it because i have nothing to do, and i’m pretty bored :3

BUT, nah… RO2 is pretty bad, it deserves to die, painfully.

If that’s your honest opinion without comparing it to RO, fair enough.

Now having played both, RO2 was garbage. Generic and a cash grab. ToS is a blast and as I was expected. A long grind with alot of evolution with things to do.

This is a no brainer answer.
TOS is the nearest game when it comes to RO1 sequel

Ro2 it wasnt garbage but it was just a generic korean game, although i had fun specially the dungeons when playpark literally RIGGED the whole system so that players will keep buying stuff at cash shop.

The community was great at RO2 its just the Publisher and the slow update content game.

From what I remember, you also don’t stand around in WoW when fighting, expecially in PvP. Well that was from what I remember anyway.

The community was great at RO2

most small and unpopular games have better communities.

its the big titles that attracts the worst type of players

This thread is about as useful as Jaden Smith’s twitter posts.

Don’t you know guys who is the lead creator of Tree of Savior and why it is close to RO1?
Never compare the original work to the crappy RO2, no need to say.
